  1. Sigourney Weaver in Talks to Join Star Wars Film, The Mandalorian & Grogu

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/star-wars-sigourney-weaver-mandalorian-and-grogu-1235896490/

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed news first reported in The InSneider that an A-list actor with sci-fi bona fides is in negotiations to join the cast as well.

That actor is none other than Alien, Ghostbusters, and Avatar alum Sigourney Weaver. We don’t have news on what role she’d take on in the feature, which isn’t a surprise given we don’t know much about the plot from the upcoming film other than the title is clearly a riff on the samurai movie (which is based on a manga series of the same name), Lone Wolf & Cub.

  2. Pepijn Lijnders has been confirmed as the new head coach at Red Bull Salzburg, with Jurgen Klopp‘s right-hand man stepping out on his own after his Anfield departure.

Vitor Matos, Liverpool’s current elite development coach, will join him in Austria as assistant coach.

Maybe now we will start signing players direct from South America for cheap.

FSG have succeeded in luring Benfica’s technical director, Pedro Marques, to their project.

On Friday, when news of Ward’s appointment as FSG’s technical director was reported, it was also revealed that Marques will take on the role as director of football development.

Barcelona have made Liverpool's Luis Diaz their top winger target for the summer transfer window, according to a report.

prominent name that keeps cropping up is Diaz, and Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo claim Barca have decided to make him their 'most desired' option.

The club understand that the Colombia international would be open to a move. Diaz would demand comparable wages to his current Liverpool salary, and Barcelona are ready to raise funds by selling players as well as agreeing to new commercial deals with Nike and Barca Studios.

  6. Cate Blanchett Joins Zellner Brothers’ Alien Invasion Comedy ‘Alpha Gang’

    https://variety.com/2024/film/global/cate-blanchett-zellner-brothers-alien-invasion-comedy-alpha-gang-caa-media-finance-mk2-films-1235995591/

Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett is set to star as the leader of the “Alpha Gang,” an alien invasion comedy by “Sasquatch Sunset” filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner.

The hot package will be launched at Cannes by MK2 Films (“Anatomy of a Fall”) handling international sales and CAA Media Finance handling North American distribution rights. “Alpha Gang” is set to start filming in the Fall.

“Alpha Gang” marks the Zellner brothers’ anticipated follow-up to “Sasquatch Sunset,” the buzzy absurdist comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough which was the talk of this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is currently on release in the U.S. via Bleecker Street.

“Alpha Gang” follows alien invaders sent on a mission to conquer Earth. “Disguised in human form as an armed and dangerous 1950’s leather-clad biker gang, they show no mercy… until they catch the most toxic, contagious human disease of all: emotion,” reads the synopsis.
