  1. I bet those spears are meant for dragons, like the equivalent of Dragon Glass to the WW. A normal spear didn't do much to Drogon but the ice spear effed up Viserion. Prob wouldn't waste them on people.
  2. I'm guessing the main reason it happened was because Brienne has some part to play in the Counsel of Cersei going on in Kings Landing. The Hound is heading that way, Jamie is there, there's a lot more intrigue for her in KL than WF....So short answer: lazy writing, but hopefully it pays off.
  3. Yes, it's time for Coldhands. That's the only way they're going to survive, but where would he take them, only way to go now is south
  4. Yes, WW walk right under the wall to follow Bran (who's heading for Greywater Watch) and the wights just scale the Wall en mass
  5. Bran is alone with a Reed now, maybe its time for Howland
  6. Admittedly the plain looked defrosted, I’m not saying it was a bang up job by the show runners, but it isn’t crazy to think if it’s a north or south facing wall that doesn’t get much sun that a snow drift could have piled up. The curtain wall is 100 ft high, it’s not crazy to think 20 feet could have piled up there during the blizzards and even a warm up left 10-15 ft of snow still there at the base in a shadow. Yes if they are going with Sansa/Theon survived by landing in snow they could have showed some more snow, but in the grand scheme of things I wouldn’t say it’s the worst thing they’ve done.
  7. It's very possible and logical that there is a huge snow bank piled up ouside the castle walls. It had been snowing for days (weeks?) prior and even with Mel's little Lord O light quick thaw, depending on the sun and how much snow was there to start there may still be a substantal amount...
  8. What was there was an 8. First we get the scene where Ygritte tells everyone she'll kill them if they go after Jon, then she just ends up standing there while he fights Styr. Then we get Maester Aemon recounting his bachelor days as hot young Targ. So 2 completely wasted scenes from the jump. Once things get going it was great, but ends too soon and nothing gets resolved, so -1 for what was NOT there. Final grade: 7
  9. - For everyone who thought Ros was around just for the T & A, she may have a valuable role to play yet... - Hope we get Mormonts last words some how - Varys IS a secret Targ, how long did he plot and wait to get the sorcerer? He's up to something
  10. My predictions for next weeks episode: - Stannis makes Mel a mix-tape and sends her a Raven saying: "Do you like me: ___Yes ___No" - Blackfish gives Edmure a wedgie. - Pod starts wearing a thick gold chain, slicks his hair back, and wears WAY too much cologne. - We learn that Brienne was field nurse before taking up sword fighting and closes off Jamies stump since I'm pretty sure Count Rugan/Locke doesn't have a maester in his camp (ala Qyburn) even with those predictions I'm sure the show will be amazing (attempt to reduce my trolling footprint)
  11. Didn't like how they handled Robb/Edmure and yeah Stannis begging to get under Mels skirt was awkward but overall good episode, good set up for things to come.
  12. Ugh, Robb was going to tell Edmure his plans if he had waited??? I hate how the show writers are "fixing" the characters faults.
  13. All you need is one line saying a King can legitimize bastards while Robb makes his will to do that, you don't need to totally change Cat for that one fact.
  14. I didn't "like" Cat in the books, but I respected her character, she was interesting and flawed. They have definitely been over simplifying her from the beginning, they are trying to make her more "likable" but she is losing that complexity that made her tragic and interesting, it's a huge mistake IMHO
  15. NO, the Cat scene, NO! I have spent plenty of time on these boards bashing Cat but her lamenting over Jon Snow was terrible.
  16. White Walkers and Others are the same thing, Wights are the "zombies" Good point, they are described to kinda "blend" into whats around them and being that this is the first broad daylight viewing it makes sense. Their skin is described as "milk white" but they have that funky crystal armor. I thought they were real skinny though and that dude seemed pretty jacked (not a big deal)
  17. I knew it! I knew it all along. Sam is a servant of the Great Other. His physical appearance doesn't change, he's been marching and living on a glacier for weeks but he's still fat. He's the only one to escape Crasters Keep later, He delivers Bran to Coldhands, and he's infiltrating Old Town. Now the White Walker just gives him a look and keeps going, OF COURSE, they're on the same side! I knew it.
  18. She is of the North...

  19. Other from another mother

  20. Waiting for Brienne to sweep me off my feet...
