  1. I'm new here as well. I thought forums were dead, so I'm very pleased to have found one that's still active and revolving around a topic that holds my interest.
  2. Huawei Ascend II is pretty cool. Thanks Matt Holland for the upgrade from my lame Kyocera.

  3. Hey everyone, My name is Kelley, I'm 24, and I'm new to both the series and this forum, and George R.R. Martin himself. I'm actually not typically drawn to fantasy reading (though movies and television shows are a different story...), but around the end of September my husband started telling me about this show on HBO called Game of Thrones. Neither of us had ever seen or heard about it until my husband stumbled across a trailer somewhere online and thought it looked like something we'd both be interested in, so we got a hold of the first season and watched the first episode together. From the very second I heard the phrase "White Walker," I was obsessed. My husband, on the other hand, hated every minute of it and refused to continue watching the series with me. I was so excited about it that I managed to watch all 10 episodes by myself in two days - I even got up at 4:00AM so I would have time to watch before my three year old got up in the morning. After finishing season one so quickly and learning season two isn't scheduled to air until this coming Spring, I was yearning for a fix so I went a bought the books. All I can really say is that I've had absolutely no life outside of this series since I began reading. My husband is constantly nagging me about it, my sister is angry with me for not coming over for playdates every week like I used to, and I've become so enraptured that I forgot to do my homework (I'm a college student) three or four times. It's really taken over my life! I'm about three-quarters of the way through A Feast for Crows and am reading very slowly so that I might savor it, as I rue the day I finally finish A Dance of Dragons and have nothing to immediately look forward to. I know there's plans for a sixth and seventh book but when I read the copyright info in A Feast for Crows, I saw Mr. Martin definitely took his time in producing his fifth entry. In any case, I love this series - I haven't felt this consumed by anything since I discovered The Vampire Chronicles in middle school, haha - and I'm excited to have found a place like this to celebrate and discuss it with others who value it as the masterpiece it really is.
