  1. Yes that's the hooded man Bran encountered in the "hidey hole" in Swords. Both strange, largely undescribed men who say-(or don't)- and do-(or don't)- mysterious things, but both do appear to be Stark sympathizers . If him,how did he get into Winterfell?I suggest he walked into Winterfell with Mance Rayder disguised as a spearwife called Myrtle, with Mance disguised as a bard called Abel. Mance left on his mission to rescue Arya with six spearwives,"young ones, and pretty" whom Dolorous Ed had supplied. But he doesn't rescue Arya-whom we later learn is Alys Karstark-but turns up at Winterfell with two daughers, two sisters, his wife and his "old mother". This old mother character,we later find out, is Myrtle. We first meet her after the HM incident where Theon describes her as gaunt, older, tall and grey haired with a deep voice.I suggest to you,as Martin suggests to us, that this is a man and this man is the chief of House Liddle. This is a very bare bones outline. We can get into the nuts and bolts in thread. But there you have it.

It's not easy hiding your true identity. One tends to give the game away despite oneself.

My best guess would have Mellario spending 8 or 9 years in Westeros, not 22. That's where the evidence points to.

The Stannis Plan and why he wrote the Pink Letter 2.0

He shouldn't be sending stupid letters in the first place. Which is okay.He didn't.

So the solution is to send a letter advertising the fact?

Fake Arya is "send back to him".Really? Have you thought this through? Is Ramsay really that thick?

Those are very poor candidates.Theon knows them. You can't have it both ways.
  14. You should send Martin a text explaining how your version of events is so much better.

    Nah.Just getting into our stride.
  16. I get to play battle commander! I would station the clansmen in the woods, up trees and in camouflage a la Deepwood Motte.Instruct them to allow riders through to hopefully ride out on the lake toward a beacon light lit on the weirwood island. They can take the rear of this column and any stragglers. Then wait for another attack. If they don't ride out on the lake because the ice is broken, you can pin them against the shore maybe with the help of some Karstark forces. (They should be the best fed and strongest of men available to Stannis). If these are Manderly men, instructions are give them a chance to yield. But you have to be ready for a Bolton force led by Ramsay.Theon has given this intel already. Again clansmen deep in the woods.Karstark men closer to shore and village.Queensman as back up in the village and around Stannis. You capture Ramsay, ready to be sacrificed to Red Ruler by slow burn. Then you send your raven to Winterfell informing Roose that Stannis has been defeated. Well that's part 1. Listen to me! I've triggered my inner Julius Caesar. Always knew it was there...

The Stannis Plan and why he wrote the Pink Letter 2.0

Stannis is not really about about honour, he's about duty and ends justifying means. He participated in dark sorcery to kill his rival brother, burned people alive for fair winds and better weather and pretended to have burned Mance. He's not above sending a dodgy letter if he feels that's what it takes. In fact he chides Jon about his honour and asks what good it did Ned. I doubt it.The Lords knew Arya was feigned. They only tolerated it to appease the Boltons. She is not "the Ned's little girl".

    Septa Lemore

Not sure about this. Aside from the quasi anagram. She's from Norvos and rails against Westerosi custom, especially that of fostering. And now she can present as Westerosi and a Septa? Seems unlikely. Have you got a link to a more fleshed out version of this?

The Stannis Plan and why he wrote the Pink Letter 2.0

I'm not so sure about this part. According to the PL Ramsay has made a threat on the life of the LC of the NW.I see nothing in the vows that prohibits him from defending himself even if that means attack.

The Leicester v Liverpool match on the 26th looks like a 6 pointer.LFC will have about 5 days to recover from the World Cup thingy.

It had succeeded in Jon deciding to ride for Winterfell with wildlings until the stabbing.

The Stannis Plan and why he wrote the Pink Letter 2.0

A very well put together piece.Very convincing. But as you know I can't set aside all the Mance associations in the letter. And I also think Mance wants Jon in Winterfell for more esoteric reasons. I could see a Stannis-Mance-Theon collaboration after Winterfell is taken!
