  1. We will likely get the upcoming book. It's next you that will never come out.
  2. I am confident we won't get a Dany and Jon romance. Simply because it is expected and cliché route to go in a typical medieval fantasy book series, and ASOIAF is not that, GRRM wants to subvert archetypes and typical storylines. Instead of them being lovers the more likely thing to happen between them is a conflict. GRRM loves the Iliad of Homer. Hector vs. Achilles. The defender vs. the invader. The ones who naturally fit these roles in ASOIAF are Jon and Dany.
  3. While I am on the topic, I don't like the theory of Jon, Dany, and Tyrion being the three heads of the dragon and working together to defeat the White Walkers either. Firstly, if the book series was only about defeating the White Walkers then it would be called a Song of Ice, but it's called a Song of Ice and Fire. Meaning there is a fire threat just as much as an ice threat. And we know who the fire threat is, GRRM already said it multiple times. Secondly the three heads of a dragon theory suggest that fire is needed to defeat ice, but GRRM has said that magic is not the answer and it will not solve an issue. The white walkers where defeated before without the help of dragons so why would that work now? If the white walkers will be defeated it won't happen through violence. That is not how GRRM operates. He values the pen over the sword. Meaning it's likely a pact will be written with the White Walkers in order for them to stop, and the one to do that will be Bran, and not Jon, Dany, and Tyrion.
  4. Jon and Dany romance. No I don't believe that Jon Snow, who full on says fire is a cruel way to die would fall in love with a girl who repeatedly puts people on fire with her dragons.
  5. Don't see Sansa marrying Harry. Laid out plans never happen. The way this is set up it seems like something big will happen in the second chapter. Perhaps her identity will be exposed and the ambitious Harry would actually show interest in marrying. Sansa, who is repulsed by the thought of marrying, will be pushed to flee the Vale and go the only place she might get some protection: Castle Black. Going to the wall would be good to her. What Sansa needs right now is someone she can trust and rely on unconditionally - and Jon can provide that. She in return would give Jon the purpose and will to fight. And together they will, most likely, reclaim Winterfell.
  6. For the jousting yes, but for the melee you don't need any invitation. Though I agree characters like Jon, Brienne or Jaime are out of question for obvious reasons. A certain dog, however, could end up visiting. Could explain why GRRM deliberately tried to not mention him in this chapter. Considering how often Sansa thinks of Sandor the fact that he is barely in this one makes me incredibly suspicious.
  7. I think Shadrich will definitely try, but fail and expose Sansa's identity in the process. That would shake things up in the vale. The question is will the lords and ladies at the Vale throw Sansa at the lions when they learn her identity? I like to think they won't because one some people are already aware of who she is and they haven't ratted her out. And two when all of the vale courtiers are aware they would protect her even only because she is Ned's daughter.
  8. I loved this chapter. For the first time in a long time Sansa is actually enjoying her life. Her interactions with Harry were a delight. Loved it how she sassed him. He deserved that, especially after his disgusting comment over his late lover. Enjoyable as it was in many ways this chapter feels like a calm before a storm... PS: Why are some people here saying she was too over-confident. I didn't get that impression. I think you guys are only taken aback from Sansa's openness, because of her forced timidness in King's landing. Let the poor girl enjoy.
  9. I will give it a 6.5 not overly bad, but not very special imo.
  10. Hello ASOIAF fans, My name is Shukri and new to this site since yesterday. I discovered this site yesterday and made an account right away. I figured this novel series out by the HBO Series and except reading the wikia page how my favorite characters end up so far in the novels. I hardly read the novels. Don't worry I am gonna start soon, in fact I will probably read Game of Thrones today. As you read in my nickname I am a big Sansa fan; she is the number one character I devotedly adore. If Martin uses Sansa to his maximum - And I mean her potential as successful queen - then I am going to react so fangirlish gleefull ; besides her I love Jon Snow, Arya Stark and Jaime Lannister. And though I despise Petyr Baelish I am very intrigued by him and his brilliant scheming.
