  1. Cis is simply a descriptive term, the people who take offense are telling on themselves big time.

Terf does carry implicit criticism, it means that someone is a bigot, but being critical is not the same as using hate speech. People don’t enjoy being called out for shitty behavior, a lot of objectively racist assholes vehemently and loudly reject being called racist. These people throw piss baby fits because they abhor the notion of anyone being critical of them for any reason even if their stated beliefs fit the descriptor.  And Terfs do tend to be dishonest actors, spouting vile shit while claiming that they have no problem with trans women.

Oppressors adopting the mantle of victimhood are not trying to have honest debate.

  2. I thought that was underwhelming, a really weak finale to an excellent season which ended up making the entire thing feel lesser. A whole lot of  exertion to take relatively few steps. I can’t buy anyone working with Butcher again, ultimately he had a changed of heart, but as usual it was out of self interest, he would have killed thousands, just not his wife’s son. The Havel The Rock sized plot armor on dem Boys boys is getting ridiculous.

I don’t recall clearly… in Mallory’s flashback to Nicaragua, was Noir’s injury caused by Soldier Boy?  For some reason I thought she had him injured in the attack the Supes bungled so badly.

We didn’t actually see what happened to him. Mallory passed out and woke to find him injured. Everyone assumed that it was part of the chaos from the attack and all the explosions. Mallory does not know the truth about what happened, as far as she knew, the Russians killed Soldier Boy and took his body.

  4. I cut out of Preacher with a few episodes still to go during season 2. It didn’t have enough of the wild stuff and the drama often fell flat on its face IMO. The casting was mostly good, except for Jesse, at least in those 2 seasons Cooper never settled into the role. In comparison to The Boys, I thought the changes were mostly terrible. A whole season in Jesse’s town made for a sluggish start, Arseface in hell was a disaster and, while I don’t know for sure, I doubt they ever justified adding in the sci-fi wrinkle of selling souls in vials which was just a baffling choice; why did Jesse need to grow up in a PKD novel rather than a Southern gothic nightmare?

  5. I don’t even think Soldier Boy was simply captured by the Soviets, at least not without some deal with Vought. The whole set up is weird, why was Edgar there? Fucking up a covert op and losing a powerful asset harldy seems like the thing to fast track you to the very top of the company. Secreting away SB was the entire point of the excursion.

  6. She is most likely working with Vought. It is a “coup from the inside”, as Raynor said, meaning Vought is using her to directly influence the government, and she is doing so by pretending to be the leader of the anti-Voughtmovement. The church leader was boasting about having dirt on dozens of supes, presumably assets for Vought, and he was, to outside appearances, playing both sides, negotiating with Edgar while attempting to give information to his enemies.

  7. I have seen a lot of people suggesting Urban because of his performance on The Boys, perhaps forgetting he is already part of the MCU; overall Jack Sparrowness aside though, when he is angry, I can kinda see it.
