  1. It is similar to the Silmarillion/Unfinished Tales and very interesting in my opinion. Definitely paints a picture of the Second Age in detail. Its very much a chronology and nothing like a novel like LoTR.
  2. Definitely watching this and the Amazon Fallout show that will be released next year.
  3. Really like that trailer. That actually looks promising off the back of the already decent Bumblebee movie.
  4. The casting reveals for this Warlord Trilogy are very, very disappointing. It brings back memories of the awful Beowulf show from a few years ago, I believe that was also ITV.
  5. I got my copy, really excellent this. Very well organized and in my opinion a great read. Very good to have it all together in 1 book, much better to build a picture of the Second Age.
  6. The fact that he is only 3/4th done and continues to find reasons to rewrite the chapters he already wrote is bad news. He seems very far removed from finishing. In a way its good that he gave us this info because now we know that progress has been slower than even expected and this book really is years away, especially in light of the rewrites. Of course he has no idea when he will be finished if this is how things are going.
  7. There are many very interesting nuggets in it. Depending on what interests you, some letters will be full of good stuff, and others not, that was the case for me. But there is quite a bit of lore/background about the books and middle Earth itself, which I really liked. Definitely getting it, the special deluxe edition in fact. I do think it will have some new material in the sense that its one coherent narrative in about 300 pages, which we definitely have not seen yet and which I expect to be quite enlightening.
  8. It is a cool looking cover though, have to say.
  9. Definitely will watch it, its Dune after all and HBO is making it. This could be very interesting.
  10. White Lotus season 2 starts end of this month apparently, loved the first season.
  11. Nice, I wonder what the fact that these are now being announced means for the release date, it says on IMDB its been in post-production for quite some time.
  12. He might, but we are certainly not there yet. I think he's still the number one right now. I just saw him thrash Tiafoe 6-1, 6-3. And he shows no signs of decline at all.
  13. I watched Federer's last game last night. There were some takeaways from the game but not many really as it was a double's game. At some points he looked understandably rusty, at others he showed tremendously quick reaction time at the net and some nice shots, though as it was a double's game it was radically different from a single and hard to judge how he would have fared. It was just great to finally see him in action after last week's news about retirement. But the farewell afterwards, I was honestly shocked by how emotional it was. Him crying, Nadal tearing up and later even Djokovic not being able to hold it together anymore and saying Fed's goodbye was one of the most beautiful moments of his life...it was genuinely incredible. Him thanking Mirka, his parents, his Laver Cup friends, the knowledge as he said earlier this week, he would have loved to gone on and played for 1 or 2 more years but due to the state of his knee he simply doesnt feel like he can anymore, it was very sad. For me, definitely the most impressive farewell I have ever seen, in sports or outside of it. Made me cry Its the end of an era, and his forced retirement is likely ushering in the retirement of Nadal and Murray in the next 2 years at most I suspect. Djokovic is in a different phase and state in my opinion.
  14. Her new book The Witch King releases March 30.
  15. I do hope they will do the reboot of B5...come on guys, even if you cancel everything else, gives this a chance at least.
  16. They are going nuts in Belgium. I listen to Belgian commentary usually because its the best, but now its almost unbearably patriotic of course.
  17. Nice one Evenepoel clearly in massive form. As visible in San Sebastian. We will see if he can do it for 3 weeks for the first time, that has not yet happened. But this was a real tour de force yesterday. What a huge pack if riders together as well on that climb, 3 guys from Ineos and all the other contenders except for Mas and the surprising 19 year old supertalent Juan Ayuso.
  18. Some more info from Brian Sibley about Fall of Numenor, which is looking more interesting now. And there was more confirmation that this is a single narrative, so youre looking at a Children of Hurin style book. Interesting that he does not mention Unfinished Tales in that list as you would expect a fair bit from this book to be pulled from that. Also interesting that content from Letters is used.
  19. Bernal's return would make this even more interesting. Hindley indeed, you wonder if they will dare use him for the Tour next year. He's very capable clearly. I'd also like to see a sincere Tour effort from Simon Yates for once. I am not sure that Pogacar will forego on all the Classics really, he only does a few as it is, but the focus will be on the Tour for sure. What broke him down this year is that one stage last week where he suddenly crumbled and after that it costs a huge amount of energy to always be the attacker. Every day he had to be the one to initiate and thats a big burden that he would not normally have. Yeah I dont see him doing a double next year after this Tour. The margins between these 2 are very tight and no one who did the Giro this year and then did the Tour had a good Tour ( I am thinking Van der Poel, Mollema).
  20. It was unbearable in Tenet. Overall a terrible and super boring film, but the incredibly overbearing sound of it. Hopefully this will be a a great film again. I did like Interstellar, Inception and Dunkirk a lot.
  21. Pogacar and Vingegaard both excellent and so much better than the rest. Looks like the one off day is just goin to be too much considering the very tight margins between these 2.
  22. If he can bring it back from 2:22 to about 1 minute before the TT, it would still be very tense. Its a long ass TT.
  23. Yup. I meant Pogacar and Vingegaard that he cant match up with.
  24. It was cool to see Pogacar in white and Vingegaard in yellow duelling up the Alpe d' Huez. Quite majestic. These 2 are so well matched. Pogacar clearly having a bad day yesterday, apparently because of insufficient eating and drinking and perhaps also overconfidence, like why did he react again and again yesterday to Roglic accelerating when he really didnt need to. Thomas, Bardet, Yates, Gaudu , Mas will fight for that 3rd spot. Thomas looking solid but clearly cannot keep up with no. 1 and 2.
  25. You would almost expect something like that but it could also be the fact that he has wasted quite a bit of power already, he's been riding very dominantly, always going for sprints uphill and of course that Arenberg stage last week where he exerted so much effort and power to only win 15 seconds on Vingegaard in the end ( the stage where Roglic fell). When I watched that stage I did wonder if he did not overextend himself because he went full power there on the cobbles, leaving everyone in the dust, for marginal time gains in the end.
