  1. Would have given it a 7 1/2 if I could have so an 8. Unnderwhelming in most spots for a finale but it did convey necessary info on who is aligning with who. Been nice to know how Daemon found out about Lukes death and his reaction rather than the scene with the dragon in the pits which served no purpose this season, maybe next. Dragon CGI is excellent ( Rhaynera landing and a small amount of rubble being displaced was a nice touch as well as Daemons slipping on the rocks) but dragons sure are a noisy bunch. Episode 9 note: Rhaneys dragon breaking through the floor afterwards from the side sure looked a lot like Godzilla.
  2. 7/10 Slow start, mediocre mid story with an "explosive" finish. Sounds like a cheap bourbon or bad sex (which I guess did occur). Rhaenys could have avoided the war right there but kept from it for her morals?? Give me a break. I guess the peasants meant nothing to her. Well, gotta set up the rest of the story somehow. I did love the scene though. Would you have bent the knee to get out of there and fight later or let yourself be butchered? Keep hoping for Westerling to do a daemon on Cole. Almost happened.............almost.
  3. An easy 8 plus all thanks to the King. All the Greens are such shits. Still cant like anybody but those guys really are the worse. Hoping for a quick and painful death for them all. (Only to page 240 in the book) The King made 8 episodes, a big surprise. Moon tea and milk of the Poppy should be in the credits. Lesson: Yes!!! Dont run your mouth about family in front of Daemon. Best kill of the series so far.
  4. 6/10 Quite rushed and choppy and now there is not a single character that is likeable. Thats OK, it not a soap opera, its a history. We get it. Allicent is evil, wicked, mean and nasty, she is quite beautiful though, at least the actress is. Rhaeneyra is a washed out old maid in comparison. JMHO. Ride a dragon, fight your relatives and lose an eye. Quite a night. Weddings and funerals are both something to avoid in the lands of F&I. I dont know what happens as Im only part way through the book but Id love to see Westerling take out Cole. Dont tell me. Who was it that died and was found in the fireplace so that Laenor could escape? Anyone we know or a random servant having a bad day? I may have missed that.
  5. 7/10 I was skeptical about the new actresses but they really brought it. The new Rhaenyra who I was the most doubtful about was believable in minutes and Allicent's change was almost transparent. Evidently Daemon has solved his not able to finish or possibly even begin problem. Lots of references to their history and ancestors in the early pages of the book. I liked that. Story is moving along. Guess the next time jump will be the kids story and almost a complete restart again. Well, fire and Ice is written like a history book so its fitting.
  6. You mean like Rhaenyra's hat made to look like her hair?
  7. Well, I can buy that part. Watched the scene several times but just couldnt tell how the horse landed on her.
  8. 6.5/10 and a struggle to get there. This episode just heightened my resolve about never attending a wedding again. The feasting, dancing, fist fights and the occasional murder, Meh, who needs it? I guess they had refined the proceedings by the Red Wedding. Lady Rhea, an accomplished hunter, horsewoman and tomboy for lack of a better word just falls off her horse and then just lies there whimpering because of a broken arm? Painful I know but not immobilizing. Running her mouth was the real cause of her death. Daemon may have startled the horse OR NOT but he was leaving before her taunting. Her death would have been OK and maybe better offscreen and " one sentence". Ser Coles blurted out confession (never volunteer information)later attempt at seppuku only serve to enslave him to the Queen, the confession though is a turning point. Anyone named Joeffery or like sounding name are now like the red shirts in ST.
  9. Ha,ha,ha, perfect. Glad Im not the only one that thought that.
  10. So the Maester/Doctor shown at the end couldnt tell if Rhaenyra was still a "maiden" or not and end the question? Of course we know she is not courtesy of Ser Cole (cant imagine that ending well for him) and that would prove her "sullied" for her arranged marriage and embarrass the crown even more but the idea was not even brought up. A good episode of the House of Cards, ehr House of the Dragon for me. A solid 8/10. BTW, love scenes were directed by a woman so very soft and lasting a long time. NTTIABT BTW, did you Catch the "Do you want to know how you die, little girl?" line?
  11. 8/10 from me. After all it was the pilot episode. It did seem like they rushed a bit and maybe could have made 2 episodes out of this one. As ever, magnificent sets, costumes and action. Also lots of characters and names to learn as usual. So far it feels like the same world as GOT but its own thing and that is a good thing.
  12. Dont understand why people are upset about Bronn being there. The Lannisters always pay their debts and Tyrion was indebted to him by his word.
  13. Meh, bland and unsatisfying. I wasnt going to write anything about this ending but I guess it will stand as some kind of catharsis. Best scene of the episode was Drogon burning the Iron Throne. If Dany doesnt have it no one does. Her appearing with dragon wings was excellent also but a little vampiric. She also changed from the White Queens clothes into Darth Vaders outfit further showing her dark side. Scenes choosing Bran (come on, shouldnt he be underground somewhere?) as King and around the conference table were downright cartoonish. Bronn magically reappears when the fighting is over. At least tyrion didnt find Cercei alive, broken and in such pain he strangles her to put her out of her misery fulfilling the prophesy like I expected they were going to do. Jon gets screwed and not like he was. Better scene and more faithful to the series would have been her killing him first while kissing or even them killing each other if they wanted the same conclusion. Grayworm should have been offed. He snapped, developed a war face and blindly followed orders. I would not want to be a subject of his. Who repaired the Wall and why do they even need a Night Watch now? Ghost and jon for the shippers and suddenly Tormond has been struck mute. I feel GRRM would not approve of this drivel. Maybe they should have just skipped this year like Martin has done with the last books. Certainly was better up to the end of the last one.

  15. I left last weeks episode feeling hollow and a little sick to my stomach but this week I am just angry. Apparently all storytelling, rhyme and reason has gone out the window for rank spectacle. I am now afraid to purchase the last/next book for fear it ends the same way. I guess even if it does the trip there will be more worthwhile. So many things to rant about, Lord Varys, Jaime and Cerceis death, the ease with which the Navy and castle fortifications are taken out, destruction of a conquered city, Clegainbowl, never ending amounts of dragonfire (magic I suppose). BTW, didnt they reuse the footage of Darth Vader unmasked for Gregor? No problem with Danny finally showing her true colors. Driven mad? I dont think so, just a temper tantrum. My way or else revenge. Destroying the Red Keep I understand and a better death for Cercei and Gregor but the rest of the city? Never liked her in the book or Emelia Clarks interpretation of her but now they have blended. Prophesy be damned and GRRM let this go by? Maybe Cercei survived the building falling on her. "The Bells?" Should have been called "Death Knell". "Im the man who killed Jaimie Lannister!" Who is gonna know? Giving this one the lowest Ive ever given, 10 for the production and zero for the story averaging out to a 5. "If You Think This Has A Happy Ending, You Haven't Been Paying Attention." Didnt think this meant that it would be the audience that would be the ones unhappy. Didt think I would ever say it but I glad there is only one more episode.
  16. A very generous 6, one of my lowest ratings ever. I really dont like the direction that this is going now. Tonight was just about what I expected only worse. This is the first show that afterwards I just felt disenfranchised and sick to my stomach about. I went to bed in a fog. Danny is soooo stupid. I always fly right into range of the guns that just killed my wingman. Lets lose both dragons instead of just one. Jon must be rubbing off on her tactics wise. BTW, arent Dragons magical beasts? Kill one with a magical ice spear OK but take one out with just a big ass arrow with no magical qualitys? I call BS. At least Sansa didnt let me down. She just makes me dislike her more and more. The show has me at the point of not caring what happens to most of the characters.
  17. Arya the KINGSLAYER! Dont think she will get much grief about that though. Dolorous Edd still just cant get a break. Generally a well done episode and Im glad they didnt cliffhanger it till next week with the NK and Bran staredown. Just WTH did Bran go anyway? He didnt seem to help. Theons timing was just right, not that it helped him. Revenge of the cryptkeepers was a letdown and Walking Dead vibe in the library with Arya took away from that. Should have just shown them chasing her. Name of this episode should have been "You only live twice" (except for Benric) but I guess that was taken. Disproven this episode: "That which is dead cannot die" "Only a fool meets the Dothraki in an open field" Oh, another 8. Just how do you rate an episode like this one? Would have been a 9 but I feel a little letdown by the NK going in just one battle (that we see). 3 more episodes to win Kings Landing, dispose of Cersei, have the Clegane bowl and settle the Iron Throne. Guess its just a time constraint. Maybe George will clarify it in the books, HA!
  18. An 8 but probably the first time I ever deducted a point for nudity. Possibly the only thing I didnt want to see on GOT. Not that I didnt want to see her undress but the way they did it just didnt do her any justice. I didnt think the airbrush artist from Cosmo was still working. Please. Who is next, Brianne? She cleans up well BTW. This was a nice episode but really didnt move the story along or provide closure. Lots of open ended scenes. Now the stage is set, lets hope for 4 epic episodes to end the saga AS HAVE BEEN PROMISED and that have supposedly been the cause of the long delay between years.
  19. A 7, wanted to give it an 8 but just couldnt. About what I expected, maybe a little better. Just not all that ramped up for this season, was hoping this episode would get the juices flowing but not quite. Let down by most of the reunions and expected a little more from The Hound. Isnt he reformed? Thought Bran had super powers by now but he just sits stonefaced as ever. Jamie really didnt know he was there? Lady Mormont mouths off again. Going to be quite formidable if she lives to get older. Surprised the killed off the young Lord but this is GOT. Now Jon knows about his relationship to Dany. The scene where he tells her should be some kind of turning point. We will see. The dragons "liking" him should have been some kind of clue.
  20. Endless cock jokes. "In the end it all comes down to the cock, doesnt it?" Well it did in this episode. Best or at least equal to the best this season has had to offer. My highest rating yet, a 9.5. Lord Baelish died too easily. Magical wall brought down by a magical dragon with a magical figure leading a magical army. Whats not to understand? Honestly, some of you pseudo-intellectuals with your endless over analyzing and self centered positions and lack of life-knowledge bring tears to my eyes. Its a TV program, relax and enjoy it. No aimed at anyone in particular BTW. JMHO.
  21. OH...........MY. What a hot mess this disappointment has become. Makes me yearn even more for the next book to come out so I can see where the story really should go. Many others have already said what I feel about this episode but it has one one positive thing for me. It makes the wait for the next/ last season much easier to take. I gave it a 6, my lowest ever and flirted with even lower but recognize the efforts and difficulties involved. Arya and her whole character is now officially off the rails and ruined. The Imp is now just a sounding board. Always enjoy the Hound and Tormund. Killing off the Priest and Benjen so cavalierly, not so much. Whole north of the wall plot just to get a dragon to the night King was sad and unnecessary. Danny could have seen the threat just by flying over. In the beginning when he said "Not too bright, this one" he should have been talking about Jon. Battle scenes went on too long and were actually boring unlike last week. Dragon CGI still spectacular. Hoping for a reprieve of sorts next week but usually the next to last episode is the pinnacle.
  22. Another set up but necessary chapter, 7.5 1. Drogan knows but Danny doesnt? She doesnt ever react. Has Drogon EVER LET anyone else touch him? He certainly seems to have healed quickly also. Dragonpower. 2. Gendry is back and has turned into Thor. Davos does comedy relief. 3. Sam doesnt pick up on the most important fact of the episode that was even read outloud to him? 4. Dickon/Rickon dying needlessly. WTF? Just to make Sam head of house Tarly now that he has left the Citadel? 5. Sansa being called out by Arya for being the evil Queen wanna be or Sansa Deville. 6. Cercei pregnant again? That girl never learns. Guess this will be the one to kill her as in the prediction. What did the scroll say that Arya found under Littlefingers bed? What a clever and shrewd hiding place! No one would ever look under there. Gotta go move all my money to under mine now.
  23. This episode really needs two ratings, one for the first half and one for the second. The first half was probably the most boring ever, slow and plodding dialogue and for the first time I really did not like Arya and her stupid grin. Maybe she could duck well and maybe even defeat Brienne through stealth but never stand up to her like she did. Something besides her chest needed to be kicked. I think we all know who is going to die by that Valarian steel dagger. Bran and his electric wheelchair, well, it looked that way. Obsidian cliffs around Yellowstone may have been better for the dragonglass scene than that cave. The second half was nothing more than brilliant and spectacular. Danny learned how to ride bareback from the Dothraki but could she really hold on to a dragon? Didnt she need that food in the supply wagons? Why burn them? Were there 3 dragons there or only 1? I thought only 1, where are the other 2? was Tyrion telling Jaimie or Danny to run? Protecting his brother or his "queen"? Either? Both? Do Bron and Jamie survive drowning despite all that heavy armor? Sure was deep water that close to shore. Tune in next week or so. First half, my lowest rating ever,a 4. The second my highest, a 10 but since I can only give one score it has to be a 9.
  24. The Queens Justice? Should have been named The Queens Revenge or maybe The Kiss of Death. Perhaps Cercei wins as she got revenge on two people, Elaria and perhaps unknowingly on Olena but Olena not only knows how to slide in the knife, she knows how to twist it as well. Felt bad for Jaimie. After saving Olena from long lasting torture he stands mutely as she tells him she killed his c*nt son. Couldnt do anything at that point so he gets no revenge other than knowing the wizened 99 plus year old is going to die. Varys great as usual. Look as his expression when the Red Women tells him she is going to die in Westeros as is he. Nice to see Cerseis body double is getting more work. No way was that Lena Headey. Bran just took over the title of worst actor on GOT from Danny. Speaking of Danny, her self centered, spoiled brat routine is so old. Her explanation of what has happened to her in the past to Jon was a nice summary but her delivery and strong inflections had the opposite effect on its impact. Seems all of her dialogue this season has been delivered this way. Another good, low action (although a lot happened) episode. Cant quite rate it an 8 though so a good solid 7 from me again.
