Daenerys Targaryen is a better leader than Jon Snow.
sifth replied to Here's Looking At You, Kid's topic in General (ASoIaF)
What's he to do? He's sandwiched between two dangerous enemies, possibly 3, since quite a few wildings aren't interested in joining forces with The Watch. Plus winter and the possibility of starvation. The Others can't be reasoned with, The Baltons are psychopaths and Jon has already made peace with all of the civilized wildings he's met. If anything, it's a miracle he's kept things as stable as they were, before his final ADWD chapter. -
Assume he (it) can be controlled. Qyburn doesn't always seem like he fully knows what he's doing.

They only get worse and worse under Cersei, heck the newest member is possibly a headless, zombie monster.
-
He just seems weak and stupid, compared to the rest. Even Osmund Kettleblack seems badass, by comparison.

Plan for Audible release of Winds of Winter
sifth replied to KingStoneheart's topic in General (ASoIaF)
Preorder it on my Nook, have it download on my device 12:00 am the day it comes out, start reading it the morning of the next day. I pretty much do this, whenever a book I love comes out. -
Your Unpopular ASOIAF Opinions/Hot Takes

Exactly, if you over think about too many things going on in the world, you'll drive yourself mad. -
Is he old, or just stupid and over weight? I still wonder how he got to become a Kingsguard, since he's done nothing remotely badass in the series.

The Siege of Dragonstone: what do you think happened?

I see, my mistake. -

I recall Kevan telling us that Loras was alive and looking for dragon eggs. If this is meant to be taken literally, I have no idea. -

In the final chapter of ADWD we're told that Loras is still alive and relatively good health, from what Kevan tells us. So I think the story we're told in AFFC is at least in part false. -
Nan, there are people worse than him. Gregor being one example.

In this history books, has a KG ever received a physical disability, like Jamie? I find it strange, that a king would want a disabled person to defend them.

I mean we have the time Arya got hit in the head with an axe……..nope it was just the other side of the axe, she’s fine. -

The series would be better if Jon didn’t come back to life. Don’t get me wrong I love Jon; he’s kind and honorable, but this series has way too many fake out deaths. They’re sort of becoming a joke at this point. -
I often wonder if Joff wasn’t pure evil, would Renly have tried his plan. Say he was a normal and kind child like his brother, does Renly still rebel?

I mean severing for life is dumb in just about every field, be it Kingsguard, Nights Watch or Maester. There's just no point in having people sever until they become useless and beyond.

Just saying it’s conjecture until it actually happens. As seen from GRRM’s notes, the guy changes his mind all the time.
-
I mean GRRM also mentions in that interview, that his version of "hold the door" will be different. So it's conjecture at best, if his version will include time travel.

No, that was Bran hiding in the crypts in Winterfell. In Bran's final chapter of ACOK, he mentions talking to Jon in a dream he had, after awakening his third eye.

Euron is warging into Daario. It all makes complete sense, lol
-
I'd say the real bad world building is why the Iron Born would follow a king, who doesn't fight any of his own battles. The guy just sits in his castle while all his family members do all the real fighting, for two rebellions and the Iron Born are just alright, with this, lol They must have really loved the guy, for some daft reason.

Been watching High Card season 2. It's likeable enough, but lacks the sense of exploration the first series had.
