  1. You can find at least one killing of a Thai online if you are interested and make your own judgment although I would not recommend it and there have been reports the they were especially enthusiastic about harming victims from Southeast Asia. But it is pretty clear that most people don't give a shit about these victims because it harms that narrative of oppressed people vs. oppressors.
  2. That is one thing we know about the attacks on the 7th that is untrue though. Unless you mean "not a member of Hamas or Palestinian from Gaza" with "who they were". They killed Thais, Arabs, Filipinos, Chinese, Nepalis among others.
  3. Is that a trick question? Take a look at the Nuremberg Laws. The people who tried to kill Jews the hardest had very clear definitions. Behaviour and religions was mostly irrelevant in the end except when it came to edge cases with "mixed" blood. I guess nowadays it would mainly be DNA based though for people who don't follow the religion.
  4. That involved a total military defeat followed by an occupation. All major allies either switched sides or were defeated too(including the only two uses of nuclear weapons in war). Also all of the leaders either died or were arrested. That would require a massive escalation and expanding the war to most of the middle east.
  5. Keanu Reeves as Ravan or GTFO! I also want Kyle Katarn and Mara Jade! My real love for Star Wars is gaming based though.
  6. I lot of people seem to have forgotten how pruning actually works completely between seasons.
  7. I just assumed she is in the Void. That is where pruned stuff goes. Have people forgotten that? The light is this again I suspect. https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Alioth
  8. When reddit mods got overwhelmed on the 7th I saw parts of a video of a Thai man getting killed(I closed it before the beheading but read the description). That probably made this conflict less likely to fade from my mind. Also the history of my country and people obviously. That is probably also to reason why it has not vanished from our front pages although it is not longer dominating.
  9. Take this with a grain of salt as I have enjoyed all Marvel movies at least a bit but I would say it is a step up from Ant Man 3/Thor 4. Far from the pure joy of GotG 3 or No Way Home though. Expect mostly chair bound/slowly walking Jackson though.
  10. I did enjoy it and the comedic chemistry between the leads. Most fights were a bit underwhelming though.
  11. I'm still following the hospital numbers here in Austria and it is fascinating how utterly irrelevant Influenza and RSV have been number wise compared to COVID this year so far. A far more infectious disease has been added to the mix and people who believe that things are as they were before COVID are deluding themselves I think. On a different note an uncle of mine has such an interesting case of long COVID that researchers are interested in him. It is mainly because he had really through checkup a short time before so they have what they lack most often which is good before data. Also pre vaccines which is good data wise too. Diabetes, organ damage and mental problems only appeared during and after his hospital stay with COVID. They catched part of his liver dying early a short time ago and prevented the worst because a doctor kept pestering about another round of tests. Main culprit seems to be a blood clotting issue. Anticoagulants saved the day and he is now taking them regularly.
  12. That it was well organised attack is indeed a fact. You can say the same about 9/11 without supporting the attack.
  13. What is a reasonable Republican? The party just made an extrem religious fanatic speaker of the house. What a reasonable Republican believes is utterly irrelevant as they still vote for people that support such fanatics.
  14. I tried reading it but after the start. I gave up. Probably not even worthwhile to point out the usual deletion of foreign victims of Hamas because that is completely standard for moderate pro-Palestinian writers.
  15. The have been emboldened by a lot of people who consider those groups a lesser evil and are willing to look the other way or even march next to them. That only helps extremist groups I believe and won't help the innocent Palestinians at all. Only another way to ensure far right majority governments in Austria and Germany in the near future. It might be completely different in Prague though as the Czech Republic is one of those Eastern European countries that have only a very small muslim community.
  16. Pro-Palestinian protestors in Essen Germany flew flags calling for a caliphate in Germany among other things. You can't make this shit up. The protest was also gender segregated. I got only German sources at this point. https://www.tagesschau.de/inland/regional/nordrheinwestfalen/demo-essen-ermittlungen-100.html (German public service TV website not far right fringe.) These tend to be some of the people you choose to march with if join such protests at least in German speaking countries. This is an extreme example of course with them being the vast majority but they are nearly always there. Some people said they were shocked about some of the signs but anyone who does not expect them is just naive I feel. That is why I'm personally opposed to joining such protests.
  17. I gave up on gamepass quickly because language selection for games was a nightmare on PC. Only worked in some case by changing region and system language but stopped working again after windows updates. I just stopped using it despite having done the cheap upgrade thing with upgrading a gold membership to gamepass ultimate and I still had more than a year left when I stopped bothering.
  18. That is a really shitty situation for the people affected. Afghanistans economy is in a really bad shape. This might impact a number of elections in Europa if a significant number of Afghan refugees move in that direction. Afghan refugees are probably the most hated refugee group after maybe Russians(Chechens) at least in German speaking countries.
  19. You go to these because it makes you feel slightly less helpless and makes people feel less alone. I have been told by a refugee from Ukraine that they are thankful that some Austrians show up. I mean I'm a doomer and don't believe that stuff like Fridays for Future will do anything but giving the kids hope that not all adults are against them can't hurt.
  20. Actually most rallies that have "peace" in the name were heavily pro-Russian here in Austria in recent years. Pro surrender of Ukraine basically. The same organizers are involved in some pro-Palestinian demonstrations and others are organised by Islamic organisations. The pro-Isreal demonstrations have participation of extreme groups even if the organizers are less extreme.
  21. Or none in the situation. Demonstrations about this situation here in Austria involve groups on both sides I would never march with. I'm not walking with pro-Putin groups or groups the openly say they want sharia law. Or groups that don't consider marital rape a crime. Or groups that want to push all Palestinians out of Israel. But I'm really inflexible about that which has limited me to climate change and anti-Putin protests in recent years.
  22. If you looked at stuff that was posted when the attacks happened on reddit that was a standard response by pro-Palestinian people on the 7th. Also that the people for South East Asia killed and abducted deserve it because their work supports Israel.
  23. A lot of people have hopes that Israel or at least its allies might be swayed by appeals to human rights. Nobody realistically hopes that when it comes to Iran, Saudi Arabia or Yemen. Countries where citizens are killed by state actors for tweets or dressing inappropriately.
