  1. yes, but the study was done by UK scientists from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Is that better? The study is from 2015 but I'm sure there are also older studies or just a common assumption, because I remember learning that it takes around 5 years for the flu virus to mutate enough so your body isn't immune to it. Also I don't understand why people think that everyone who gets the flu will have terrible symptoms. Flu is no different from other viruses, some people will have milder symptoms and some worse. Of course, in general, it's worse than a common cold, but you can't expect everyone who has the flu to be delirious " Actually, 20% to 30% of people carrying the influenza virus have no symptoms. 2. they actually probably did “Adults catch real flu about once every five years, scientists calculate, based on a field study in China.“ https://www.bbc.com/news/health-31698038
  3. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-asia-51609712/coronavirus-drone-captures-massive-queue-for-masks-in-south-korea because standing around in a huge crowd is a very good idea.
  4. which is basically the plot for the whole saga :p
  5. honestly it was just a typical Sapkowski interview, it’s just how he is.
  6. after today’s episode *my* theory makes a lot more sense
  7. ugh so they’re claiming ciri is 13 in the first season which she’s clearly not. Also I thought Yen is supposed to be older than Geralt? I like the map though.
  8. @3CityApache They probably won’t even introduce her, they’ll use one of the other sorceresses to play her role. Like Sabrina.
  9. you mean, like how was Geralt even born?
  10. No, he’s not forbidden from anything. He’s the author, and if he wanted to he could very well write a book negating everything that happened in the games. He doesn’t consider the games “canon”. But he’s always claimed that the saga is finished and he said all there was to say on the subject. And honestly it probably wouldn’t be a good idea for him to reopen it.
  11. I don’t get why you keep fighting this. You don’t like them, it’s your right. They are classics though. Sapkowski is basically the Polish Tolkien. There were voices the Nobel should have gone to sapkowski instead of Tokarczuk. Personally I wouldn’t go so far
  12. the books. It was a whole cultural phenomenon in the 90s, the country went mad for it.
  13. yes, they’re so bad that basically every Polish person knows who Sapkowski is
  14. the very first scene is a nice nod to the first scene in the original series.
  15. I wish the author of a goodreads review I recently came across had read that. I wanted to scream at her assertions of Sapkowski’s sexism and objectification of women
  16. btw there is a fan movie coming out on December 7, starring the original Jaskier. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrPwcDdBNGscYuzTcPFZ2zw
  17. also it’s airing on Sunday night in proper countries. Top Doctor Who spot.
  18. huh, there are definitely 3. signature and technical on day one, showstopper on day 2. which isn’t netflix showing? eta: i’m finding information from last season that technical isn’t shown on CBC but you can still watch it in full on their online platform.
  19. John did ask if we're bringing ours to be signed but I said I'm not carrying it all over Dublin :p
  20. yeah, I thought this might be a different situation then the rest of the EU. You sometimes get random checks within the Schengen area.
