  1. LOL. You'd think they might have waited one episode, for a tiny bit of suspense. The ruins looked nice, all 30 seconds of them. Was that Drogon?

Really, Jorah's already sporting a fingerprint of greyscale, what a mess. Yes, it was definately Drogon......red winged and all.

  2. Had no idea symptoms of greyscale show that quickly. At this rate, Jorah won't make it to the end of the season.

Hahaha, by next week.......Jorah won't even have a pecker left on him to take a piss, hahaha.

Gods, I can;t even cling to the last scenes with Tyrion and Jorah being decent or good.....not with Jorah already sporting an actual fingerprint of Greyscale. That's a bit ridiculous.

  3. WOW........they've gone out of their way to remind me that I already was pissed off.......and this Dany shit, WOW!! Even my daughter the non purist (not that I ever was) just said this shit is depressing......it COULD have been so good. Just WOW. I'm not sure if it's worth it for my chance to enjoy a scene or two, or even to get a laugh at shit I don't enjoy, JUST WOW!!

  4. I wanted to also ask about the Notification function. It works for friend requests and PMs, but still doesn't work on the posts that are reply quoted. I know a lot of work goes into the board, thanks for any help or information.

  5. I have notifications for DMs, apparently. And also, as I said, for when I follow topics. Nothing about quoting.

That seems to still be the issue.

I did get notifications about PM,DMs but nothing when my posts are quoted. I don't follow individual topics, so I can't say as to that.

I suppose this quoting and notification problem is still going on, it is with me, anyway.

  6. Just reporting I'm not seen my notifications. The board crashed for me a couple of hours ago, so maybe someone got broken there.

But not biggy (for me at least), just letting you know, guys.

Me too, on the notification issues today. I'm on a laptop, not a phone, just thought I'd let that one be known.

No biggie for me either right now, I did just happen to notice it right now on a check in for a thread or two, no notification of a post or two quoted.

    Thanks in advance,everyone.

  7. If they'd just give THE brothel a name. I like, "The Little Finger."

But it's the Biggest, Bestest Brothel in the world, EVAH!! You want to tag it with the word "Little?" Fer shame, LOL

Eh, then again, the Porn of Dorne may just out do the place, time will tell. ;)

  8. Nothing wrong with that.

I also enjoyed Pedro as Oberyn. His acting for the part really sold it, and I enjoyed almost all of his scenes. In the end the way they wrote him I disagree with but it's not enraging like it is for other characters. It's just rather questionable, and at the very least I can see why they wanted to attack the audience with his presence. I probably would have made some similar choices had I been a showrunner, but then again if it was me I would've introduced him in "Dark Wings, Dark Words" as a parallel to introducing Olenna.

Pedro was amazing, I'm still upset there wasn't an Emmy nod for him. I would have been all for meeting him earlier on the screen, but I do fear it would have just meant more scenes at THE brothel.

  9. Oberyn wrote poetry in the novels, so they got that detail from there. It's just that Ellaria reveals that in ADwD, rather than it being something foregrounded in ASoS.

Thank you for that, somehow.......I did manage to forget about that. Probably because I'm paying more attention to Ellaria's anti-war and revenge speech.

  10. Actually, Tyrion brought up the brothel, not Oberyn. ;)

I could be wrong, but I didn't think that we were going to ever see or hear about Willas? I thought I heard about him getting cut.

LOL, but that's my point, THE brothel and Oberyn, inseparable. It doesn't matter which character said it.

I know we are not going to see Willas, or last I knew we weren't going to see him, the point being.......the complication of the relations with House Tyrell would have been much more interesting than Loras and Oberyn making quick eyes at each other. Then, as usual, there was no reason for it other than to let us know, I guess, that gay and bisexual men can spot each other a mile away? :dunno:

  11. Hyperbole abounds. Show Oberyn was awesome...much more interesting than he was in the books. His sex scenes didn't actually have much sex in them at all, for all of the complaining. And they ended about other things. But he had some amazing scenes such as his talk with Tyrion in the cell, his talk about his daughters with Cersei and his talk about bastards at the Red Wedding...and oh look, those didn't involve sex.

He was the most likable character this season because he's a wild card that shook up everything in KL. He wasn't nearly that cool in the books.

Actually, the scene with Oberyn and Tyrion in the cell starts out with.........a brothel mention. It is hard to find an Oberyn scene where he's either not in THE brothel or at least mentioning it. Perhaps, the Cersei scene is lacking a mention of it, but I'd have to double check. Even his scene with Varys in the throne room, brothel mention, and LOL, discussing the bastards of Dorne does involve discussing sex as Oberyn has to point out in dialogue that they are born in passion and not despised.

I'd have appreciated some deeper dialogue, touching on the CR visit and at least his varying relations with the Tyrells. Instead, we get man crazy Loras making eyes at Oberyn when I'd rather hear about Willas. Still, Pedro brought Oberyn to life beautifully and deserves even extra credit for having to do so with all THE brothel mentions and scenes.

  12. Has anyone seen the ad for the movie Dracula Untold? It seems it has both Charles Dance and the boy who plays Rickon in it. Not sure if anyone has brought info about this movie yet as I haven't combed the entire thread. I just thought some might be interested in it. Of course, the movie seems to make use of Charles Dance and his amazing voice in the promo, can't say I blame them, LOL

  13. Wow…it's posts like these that make me want to run away from this forum and never look back. The scene disappointed you because the actor looked too feminine?

Honestly, I never knew a man seeming to be a bit small of build equalled being 'feminine' in some people's minds? After all, who could tell much about the father's appearance, masculine or feminine, undert that all consuming turban and the robes. It is disheartening to read such things, I agree.

I thought the entire segment of the father bringing his daughter's remains to Dany chaining the dragons was actually, surprisingly, one of the better parts of the episode.

  14. I'm talking about him leaving the Wall to become a tree root & intervening adventures

It still doesn't change that Aemon's vagueness seems to suggest........there is a common story believed about BR, before and after the Wall. He speaks of him as a known quantity. I'd guess the vagueness all around is intentional on GRRMs part.

  15. Maybe it never came up. He's not a talker

IIRC, I thought Aemon basically said that Egg had emptied the dungeons, and sent everyone including BR, as a sort of honor guard for Aemon when he traveled North to take the black. The way it's worded.....it's hard to say what his thoughts on BR might have been. I haven't read Dunk and Egg novellas yet, but I thought Aemon's statement was intentionally vague.

  16. That is both beautiful and heartbreaking........great to see them together, and still sad that Lady does not live. They both look gorgeous, though. That almost reminds me of a long haired Alaskan Malamute that a neighbor has that gets walked by my yard everyday. That dog looks like a huge polar bear, but luckily, she's quite huggable. "Lady" still looks oh so Ladylike.

  17. Mind you, that grin on Edd's (Ben Crompton's) face just seems wrong somehow ...

I do love that picture. Now, just imagine if they'd actually fleshed out all of those characters. Hmmmmmm, perhaps I should take this picture to the Nitpick thread. I'm sure I could use a good rant about that, ehhhhh, maybe tomorrow or after the season ends. I do just love that picture and want to enjoy it.

As for Edd, I'm just going to fanwank that the smile is from his one bout of optimism in the books, he was thinking he'd be lucky enough to die before they figured out a way to put his corpse back to work. LOL ;) :lmao:

  18. Hello, I am a lurker here - I have read books 1-4, and started 5, but stopped. I am now reading book 4 over again, and will attempt to finish book 5 this time around :read:

I thouroughly enjoy reading everyone's thoughts here after the episodes air!

I have a question - I read a lot of the pages here, and haven't seen it mentioned, so forgive me if it has been!

Eli Roth tweeted about the lastest episode yesterday, and he mentioned a 'cameo'... WHO HAD A CAMEO?? (sorry if this is the wrong place for this question).

Hi and Welcome and hope you enjoy the rest of the books and show.

I can't say as I know if there was a cameo, I'm not one who follows casting and cameos religiously. Good luck finding out, I'm sure someone around here will know.
