TV contracts are where the NBA makes its money and places like Minneapolis or Salt Lake City or New Orleans are never going to really get preferential calls unless they happen to land Jordan or Lebron. It's even worse for Toronto as Canadian ratings do not even count in the tv deals.

Why would they build a set/make extra CGI when they could just reuse what they already had? That's how you make films and control costs. I don't like what they replaced it with but getting rid of the Rammas stuff is perfectly fine. It is not needed in a film as it is just extra. It's primary function as a storytelling tool in the book is just as a rallying point for the Rohirrim before the charge, everything else is gravy.

Well that is incredibly stupid plotting but also understandable from a filmmaking perspective. To do what you want, they'd have to have a seen setting up what the rammas is, then have a scene of Faramir agreeing to go defend, then a scene of Faramir going but Gandalf asking him not to, then him actually going, then the scene which is in the movie of Gandalf rescuing them coming back. They compressed into Faramir agreeing to go attack something the audience knows, riding out and charging idiotically, then scene of Gandalf rescuing.

Pattinson Batman is better than Bale Batman because you know.... he actually gets a movie that's about him and not Harvey (Dark Knight) or isn't idiotic like Batman Begins or Dark Knight Rises. Plus he gets to be a detective for once. As well its basically the only serious time on film where at some point in the film (so Adam West one and Batman & Robin don't count) Batman acts like a hero instead of a rich white psycho who likes to pick on inner city thugs to make them scared.

They very well could just be making that the price for Mat getting memories. Or the rescue gets moved up to Shadow Rising. As Thom doesn't seem to be coming back I doubt that plotline will be in regardless.
