No question banned for life if found guilty.  Have to assume that he was into gambling or some sort of blackmail opportunity to even consider something like that.  He was earning 415k this year for the Raptors, and had earned 2.3 million thus far in the NBA.  That's getting close to set-for-life kinda money if he is smart with his finances (not likely, I know).

The existence of these player over/unders is just a really bad idea.  So much potential for corruption.  And for what?  Is there really going to be less gambling money coming in if you can't bet on benchwarmers to hit 5.5 points per game?

I actually wonder if organized crime might place a bunch of money on a player and then drug him or have some goons fight with him outside a club.  Wouldn't take much to get him out of tomorrow's game, and if you have a few million dollars in bets placed across the country, that is quite the haul.

Local news has reported that he had a discord channel where you could pay him for betting tips.  Also that his locker has been cleaned out by the Raps. I have to assume he is just a moron.  Hopefully he didn't rope in any of his teammates or his brother.

In other news, Knicks are good again now that OG is back. It's amazing how much he changes the team.

I love OG. Wish we still had him but that is him. When he is out there he improves everyone's play defensively a lot. "When he is out there" is the problem.

  3. So odd question but it really stood out in an otherwise gorgeous film.  So in the attack at the end there is one extended shot with two armies seeming to run at each other on screen from mid - top and bottom of the screen.  The problem is the bottom army was only running in place and not moving.  Very odd looking and distracting.  Did anyone else notice this?  Was it like planned that way weirdly or just a VFX glitch?

Based on previous interactions, what texts do you think he's been reading? The unfinished tales? The 13 (was it 13?) History of Middle-earth books? Or something else?

Some sort of wiki I would guess.  He's missing a large point of the text.

Middle earth was already populated before the flight of Noldor.
Elu Thingol founded the Doriath,  the elves led by Thingol and the dwarves defeated an army of orcs in the first battle against Morgoth force, but it was an army of orcs and werewolves, it's different when dragons and balrogs are involved in the battle.
Who killed Gothmog? Echtelion, a Noldor
Who killed Ancalagon? Earendil , half Noldor
The Noldor re-forged Anglechiel , Turin used the sword to kill Glaurung.
The Silmarils , created by a Noldor , were necessary to produce the light of the trees.

Why does Gothmog need to be killed?  He did nothing vs the Sindar or even Men for that matter

Why does Ancalagal exist?  To fight the Noldor.

Any sword could have killed Glaurung, he literally impaled himself on it. Besides which the sword didn't get any magic powers from the Noldor it already had it, they just made it sharper.

The silmarils captured the light of the trees.  They were never necessary for the trees to produce their light.

Yeah the Raptors definitely confused me yesterday.  Seemed pretty clear they were going into tank, or at least rebuild, mode with the Anunoby and Siakam trades - as well as giving away Schroder yesterday - then they give up a first rounder?  There's nothing worse than having a GM/Front Office that can't pick a direction.

I *guess* the rationale is they really like Agbaji and felt they already had too many picks this June.  At least that's what The Athletic beat writers tell me.  Hohkay.

The draft pick is going to be 28-30 in a dogshit draft when they already have picks in the late teens and 31.  They think the pick is less valuable than Agbaji which it likely is.  They also added  a solid backup center who reportedly is already going to resign with a home country discount.

They gave away Schroeder for cap space and because Schroeder asked to be traded because he plays where some of the young guys are playing and so wont play as much as he wants to. They are definitely soft tanking but also wouldn't really mind if they make the play in and make the playoffs.  They likely aren't keeping their own draft pick regardless.

Now the fun begins with the trade deadline looming. Hield is a Sixer and I'm surprised how little they had to give up. Just some matching contracts and three second round picks, none of which were theirs anyways. That's a great trade if Embiid can come back.

Curious to see what else happens.

I'm not understanding why Indy did that trade honestly.

There are a lot of rumours going around about X Box getting out of the hardware business and making all their exclusives multi-platform. The X-Box team has announced a press conference about their business direction next week. Who knows what's true or not, but this may have been a very bad year for me to buy an X-Box for the first time in my life...

On the Switch side of things, I finished and 100%ed Mario Wonder. It's a completely delightful game, and I'm so appreciative of the creativity bursting out the seams. The wonder effects are generally amazing, but they're usually the cherry on top of fantastic level design, so that the game doesn't feel just like a series of gimmicks. And there are also some difficult platforming challenges in here: the Special World levels and the final marathon levels were very tough, as usual, but even many of the main game levels had their challenges. And I deeply love the multiplayer implementation.

Definitely my favourite 2D Mario since Super Mario World. I highly recommend.

This was going to happen as soon as they announced Gamepass.  That literally means there is zero reason to ever buy an Xbox.

  8. NBA should take the idea from of the NHL All star game.  Have 32 players (conferences, or 32 best doesnt matter) school yard pickem for 4 teams of 8.  Have a mini tourney with real cash incentive.  Boom all star game fixed.

A bit of a difference in the character background for Dalton. Swayze's Dalton was an experienced bouncer with a reputation. This Dalton seems to just have the UFC fighting reputation.

If this Dalton doesn't have the history of ripping a dudes throat out pre-movie and somehow not being in jail then this isn't Dalton.

Siakam to the Pacers. Doesn't seem like an overpay since it's basically just for three firsts.

Yep, sad to see him go but the redundancy was there with him and Barnes and he wasn't on the same timeframe as the rest of the team so had to go.  I expect Poetl to be traded before the deadline as well.

Count me as another who enjoyed Inquisition. I'm hoping to replay it this year. Will DA4 be the greatest game of all time? Probably not, but I see no reason why it can't be a very good game.

I'm in a really fun stretch of Elden Ring.

I did the Radahn battle, which was pretty cool and unique. Then I headed down to the underground city, which might be my favourite area so far in the game. Since then, have been exploring Altus Plateau, Mt. Gelmir, and the Volcano Manor*- all very well designed. I think I'm getting to the point where I feel ready to take on the capital, especially now that I have my Mimic Tear Ash and a very high level weapon.

*though I deeply hate that part of Volcano Manor where you have to drop down from hanging cage to hanging cage while a magic dude shoots you, and then you get to the bottom floor and are swarmed by enemies that eat you. Many runes were lost...

My only real complaint at this point is that I'm pretty over From Software's approach to storytelling, aka "let's just be as obtuse as possible, have all characters talk both cryptically and in either a terrible imitation of Shakespeare or a stream of pure jargon and call it a day." I never loved it in Dark Souls, but at least those were short enough that you felt like you had some direction. Here I'm doing stuff... to get to the capitol... to repair a ring... for reasons. And I have been for 40+ hours. And then don't get me started on the side quests...

Also, where's the dung eater?? I was promised dung eater.

Coming although he is just a piddly side quest. If you do it right though for my money he is the best spirit ash in the game. Requires doing specific things though.
