  1. Anybody know if Argus Filch is coming back as Walder Frey this year?
  2. The Penicillin won't be necessary until sailors return from "Ulthos" (putative America equivalent in the map book.)
  3. What, you didn't imagine that lap dances would be involved?
  4. To me, the biggest scoop from this episode was that Mel knows that she will see Arya again.
  5. Ok, can someone please explain to me why Sansa was crying at the sight of Littlefinger's ship sailing away? Also..... ARE YOU HAPPY NOW ROS HATERS? Poor Ros, she was there to help meet HBO's nudity quota, then discarded to let us know that Littlefinger is ruthless and Joffrey is sadistic and evil.... Because we didn't know that already...
  6. Edric was stillborn... Nice. Also, how can we not assume Talisa is a spy at this point? You should go back to your home and take vengeance on the Ironborn, of course I still don't know where your home is despite sitting here staring at your maps, and I'm not at all implying you need to cross at The Twins... Not at all...
  7. So we can now confirm that Marwyn was not the one who "unmanned" Varys, provided D&D weren't deviating from the script there. (sounds stupid but it's been bandied around on general)
  8. I guess they need to make sure the viewers remember who he is, so when he winds up being TPTWP/AA reborn, it doesn't seem like it is coming out of left field, or anything.
  9. So maybe we'll be getting some Burt Bacharach with the credits after episode 9?
  10. I thought it was also a bit of a nod to the book readers (and perhaps this forum?) that Hotipie's farewell was given WAY too much focus and emotional resonance.
  11. Soooo..... Basically Locke chops Jaimie's hand during a fit of jealous rage, feeling inadequate next to Jamie's fancy words, and riches, and looks, etc. - and probably without fully thinking out the consequences before he did it? I mean, he just ordered Brienne to be left unharmed in order to preserve her value as a swap, so why else would he turn around and harm Jamie, an even more valuable prisoner?
  12. His son was killed by Jamie during his first escape attempt, and he's been shown fuming and wanting revenge for his sons - the plural being one that was killed in battle I suppose, perhaps by Jaimie again.
  13. Actually seeing the Lannister boys and seeing just how boyish and innocent they are rather than just hearing about it in the books is going to really hammer it home just how awful a deed Karstark is going to do.
  14. Looks like we're getting LOL at the GRRM episode apparently containing the most massive plot deviation to date, at least per the synopsis.
  15. Re : Thoros meeting Mel - Thoros seems to be showing off Beric to her, they are examining his fatal wounds together, he is probably telling her how his R'hollor magic is now capable of animating the dead - to help establish resurrection via fire priest. So maybe we are getting UnCat. Re : QoT and Sansa - what QoT says to Sansa as they first meet implies they already know Joff has had her beaten, they tell her they have heard he has mistreated her.
  16. Wow.. The guy playing Beric looks fan-freaking tastic...
  17. Or tell his kids about important stuff like, oh, say Robert's Rebellion. USE YOUR WORDS HOWLAND.
  18. If the Reeds were better communicators, the entire plot of ASOIAF would collapse under it's own weight.
  19. Did anybody else feel like the first episode seemed to fly by really fast, and this one seemed really long? It's weird, because I didn't like this episode any less, and the structure/setup was pretty similar.
  20. Well, in the books Ramsay did pretend to be on Theon's side, and also pretended to be someone he wasn't, only to have a shock reveal later and wind up torturing him. They want to introduce the character similarly, they just have to do it later under different circumstances for casting reasons. To have done the Reek reveal last season, they would have had to spend tons of time on exposition about the off-screen exploits of Ramsay and Reek to make it click. It wouldn't have worked that well, and given away the Boltons as sickos too early.
  21. Yeah, and Bran would have been better off dead than having to suffer life as a cripple. Great minds think alike...
  22. Maybe I should have upgraded to an 8 for Anguy's "Yo, I'mma shoot dis arrow in the sky, and if you don't move ya fat ass by the time I'm done talkin', you gonna be dead" That was awesome.
