  1. Trying to find the "close account" function to get out of this troll-infested cesspool.

  2. This was the best episode yet. I guess that's to be expected when they spent the whole episode on four POVs; there's enough time to spend on each one. Lena Headey was spot-on, and Peter Dinklage once again gives Tyrion such bravado that he is impossible not to love. The only scene that seemed new was the Hound/ Bronn scene, which I thought added quite a bit, and since both are among my favorite characters, it was like "fan service" in a way. Changing the battle to nighttime was a wise decision by the directors, methinks. Adding to the glory of this episode is what's needed in the next one: closure on Arya/ Jaqen, Arstan and Strong Belwas, HotU, and Jon Snow's next actions, Ramsay in Winterfell (I hope!) and perhaps a bit more Jaime/ Brienne. Yeah, this season turned out alright.
  3. THIS was probably the best episode in the series so far. The show can keep deviating from the book if the changes are of this quality. The Arya/ Tywin scene, the Tyrion/ Cersei scene, and the Qarth scenes were masterfully done. Theon is doing a great job, and the Robb/ Jeyne and Jon/ Ygritte budding love stories are perfect. Sandor/ Sansa is marvelous, too. I can't muster a single complaint.
  4. Of all the episodes so far, this one deviated the most from the novels. I'm nervous as to how Jon Snow will end up characterized in the upcoming events, what the hell is going on in Qarth, why Tywin is too stupid to realize he has Arya Stark right under his nose, and what will happen to Theon. The changes themselves weren't bad and will end up with some good storytelling, I'm sure, but important characterization is being lost when characters are reacting differently than they should.
  5. Hello everyone. I just want to say that I'm glad so many people appreciate this book series. While I didn't start reading it until after I saw Season 1 of Game of Thrones via my roommate's DVDs this year, I have been eating the books up ever since (with schoolwork suffering as a result...). I'm about to start A Dance With Dragons next week, and after that I'll be waiting with baited breath for the next installment. The themes in the books, the subversion of fantasy tropes, the overwhelming mythical arc, the numerous sympathetic characters and viewpoints... I'm enthralled with George R. R. Martin! -Gaius
