  1. If you wanted though, couldn't you say Jesus was an alien? or at least that the bible got it all wrong RE: god. Like there was clearly something with power, but whose to say the authors of the bible really understood what it was? I don't think this was the creator's intent, but you could. I thought this movie came out this weekend for some reason. Didn't big movies used to come out memorial day weekend?
  2. Her death was so weird too. Like there's no chance they had a plan to introduce this huge twist for her character, then kill her off and only breifly adress it four seasons later in a really anti-climactic way.
  3. I'm putting this here because it doesn't warrant it's own thread, but I did watch Goodfella's fairly recently! Still great. I did not know at that time just how much material there was for a sequel: https://medium.com/truly-adventurous/secrets-wives-4553ec1b871b Good read, I kinda wish they hadn't mentioned Goodfellas in the sub heading. If they did make a movie it would be great to keep the identity of the man a secret and not give away the connection until Anders finds out. That would never happen though the way movies are marketed. And of course it's too late to properly make a sequel to Goodfellas.
  4. That Justified trailer gives away quite a bit. If you're going to watch it anyway maybe consider skipping the trailer.
  5. aw, I see Diablo IV is doing that terrible "pay extra to play a few days early!" thing the last Battlefield game did. Playing off people's fear of "falling behind." Is the game any good? I didn't bother with any of the betas.
  6. I'll catch it when it comes to streaming, I'm not going to see it in the theater. By then I won't remember the details anyway, but it's kinds like reading the book before you watch the movie. I know I'm weird, but I'll frequently read the Wikipedia plot summary of a movie before deciding if I want to spend the time watching it.
  7. In their defense, all they had to work with were condiments and "the knobbies." If they'd been allowed to use the special cheese, things might have been different. God that cracked me up. The woman must be at least a millionare and she's saving old bread loaf ends in the freezer.
  8. I know it's not for everyone, but the new season of I Think You Should Leave is out. The computer game with the eggs
  9. Yeah I thought she was younger than him. So he's just adding "boy" for misogony's sake.
  10. I thought it was werid at first too. You'd expect fucking over/not getting fucked over by Tom and Mattson would mean more to her than not letting Kendall win. I think it makes sense though that her issues with her siblings and indirectly with her dad would go way deeper than her issues with Tom and Mattson. She just couldn't let her asshole brother win and try to become the new Logan. Like Ran said she already saw how he was going to be with his ego unchecked. As terrible as Kendall is, I think she made the wrong decision. She could have just taken her money cashed out of Waystar and watched Kendall probably be terrible at CEOing. Now she's almost stuck with Tom, not for money but to save face. I think I understand why she made the seemingly self destructive call in that moment though. Reminds me, Connor may not have gotten a lot of time in the finale but I love "I'm the eldest boy!" and Shiv correcting him. People forgetting Connor exists is always amusing. Also is Shiv even older than him?
  11. I wouldn't put it above Sopranos. I think the plotting is a little too ...sloppy? I hate to sound down on the show because it was so damn great. But as suggested upthread sometimes things that seem like a huge end of the world deal just...evaporate. The vaulter guy as a threat who could take over, the senate and then DOJ investigations, even Kendall's huge "my dad is a malignant presence" ploy. Like you really have to wonder how he went from that to standing on a stage with a modified video of his dead father basiclly saying "Dad great! Dad say this! This great!" with any kinda credibility. He just kinda rejoins the company with no one outside of the company confronting him about his change of heart. The woman writing the biography of Logan just vanished, "the kids bought Peirce" basically just went away. It's not that big of a deal but the show did have a pattern of building these things up as huge problems or at least big plot points and then just resolving them off screen I guess. I'l never know how Greg got out of his congressional testimony when he was the one who carried out the destruction of evidence. They show him flopping around like a dying fish but then the scene ends before they ask him about how he signed out the files, even though we know Gil knows he did it. Another thing, and this could be me missing something or missunderstanding but I was wondering: Election night, for the Roy boys it's mostly about "which candidate will block this deal we don't want for us?" Yet then...the deal goes through before the election dust settles, under the current president (President Raisin!) So what...was that about? They enabled a Nazi to possibly get elected because they didn't understand the timing of the deal? The show does really remind me a lot of The Sopranos though. Especially the way they consistantly mixed of humor into a serious drama without undermining the tone of the dramatic parts.
  12. Thanks, It didn't seem like anyone was trapped inside. but I wonder why they weren't all there for the closing shot?
  13. In a general sense I don't think it could have ended any other way
  14. No, I'm going by the reviews and a very detailed scene by scene description someone posted on reddit after the premier that I'd had open in a tab for a week and finally just got around to reading. Yes, theoretically I could end up liking it. Stranger things have happened. But I also wouldn't be shocked if the movie I imagined in my head reading that was a little better than the actual movie. Edit: synopsis. Supposed full plot of the moive:
  15. It's such a shame they couldn't get this right. 2/5 is not a good ratio for a franchise.
  16. I started another round of stellaris, encountered the grey goo outside the L-gates and so figured that was what was locked away in the L-Cluster. Ok so I just won't open the gates until I'm good and ready to deal with that. But I forgot my science ships were set to auto explore including "research projects." So all of a sudden I get a notice that I've fucked myself and most of the galaxy. I'm having a terrible run of luck with this game.
  17. and it's made worse by the fact that they don't really ...explain why he's like this. Seems like they just came up with "Misty's soul mate" and ran with it. Then at the end he becomes a deus ex machina for the Shauna murder plot. Unless I missed it, they never even bothered to explain how his email to the cops at the end of last episode was part of his sceme to blackmail Saracusa.
  18. It's not a matter of impulse control, so much as some of us having no idea what day it is or forgetting when the show comes out. Personally I don't mind spoilers, but most people do and I'm willing to make the minor effort to cover in case someone makes a mistake and opens the thread without watching. Which did happen last thread, hence the discussion.
  19. Another thing, they really built up Tai's multiple personality problems last season, and then this season... It just sorta serves to get her to Van and then the compound. They really de-escalated that plotline from "sacraficing the family dog to win an election."
  20. I've been re-watching Seinfeld slowly. I'd forgotten about the plot where they pitch Jerry to NBC. It's funny to think that the show could have gone crazy meta and continued that plot. So that within the show Jerry and George were producing episodes of Jerry based on their experiences on Seinfeld. It's funny watching it after Curb, I recognize all Larry David's voice cameos now. Plus little things like the car periscope that come up on both shows. Does anyone know why he left the show after season seven?
  21. It seems like you didn't read the discussion last thread, cause we're just repeating it.
  22. So was the last! I still say taking the two seconds to put it in tags is worth it if it spares upsetting someone with spoilers. Though for once I think Tywin watched it first.
  23. Did you miss that whole discussion in the last thread?
