  1. Honestly I expect it to out-sell Oppenheimer by a significant margin, at least the first weekend.
  2. Pretty sure he still is, yep. Also as an aside, in my time in New York, a drinking buddy of mine happened to have been a body double for Caviezel for some lesser known movie of his back in the day. They looked remarkably alike. My buddy freely bashed Caviezel as a total prick on set, so I've always held a grudge and wasn't surprised once I heard he was a hateful person.
  3. If you want a good time, go look at the D4 subreddit. That entire site is a colossal community of echo chamber negativity on 95% of subs, but boy howdy is the backlash against this Season 1 epic right now. My favorite is this reference to the newly-added The Oculus, an iconic item from D2 (D3 had it too but it wasn't as exciting) which has a negative aspect that gives a chance for the Sorcerer to be teleported to a random place on screen. Very dangerous but workable in softcore. Top tier meme, though, and being bombed with meaningless Reddit stars. Diablo 4 Kinda Sucks Though recommendations:
  4. Honestly I kinda thought they'd throw in some sort of content addition as a late surprise. As it is there's just very little reason to invest time on a character after they have the correct Aspects and Sigils. Uber Lilith is neat but honestly there isn't a progression-related reason to kill her. The game is basically beaten once you've done your 70 capstone. Hunting the absurdly over-rare super uniques isn't a viable long term goal. Season 1 is an easy pass from me other than maybe a few hours a week here and there. I doubt I'll surpass my season 0 druid's level 81. They really need to flesh out endgame in a major way or they hemorrhage players like me who really want to invest time in a grind. Halls of Torment is silly but if I didn't have to go to work I still have loads of unlocks to hunt.
  5. I'm very underwhelmed. Glad I have so little time to play, and there's zero reason to push hard out the gate (no leader boards, no economy to try to get rich quick). No one likes a Negative Nancy, but this is the biggest release of the only genre I really play. I see very little reason to play this season as the core of the game itself I find utterly underwhelming. No worries I adore PD2 for the carrot on a stick grind (a high rune drop in D2 is still by far the most satisfying moment in loot ARPGs to me). No surprise that the ever-bitter Reddit is burning down effigies of the patch notes. Gutting the sorc even further, yeesh.
  6. Dennis Hopper has a couple allā€time great lines in True Romance. He's amazing. I absolutely agree it's my favorite Tarantino film even if it says A Tony Scott Film.
  7. Spent a day off carefully deconstructing my PC then installing the parts and my new 6800xt in a great Lian Li case (3rd one by them now). Cable management is amazing with the SSDs tucked behind the mobo, no more DVD or hard drives clogging up space and more wires. Didn't get all the fancy RBG lighting stuff right but frankly I don't care. Temps are running great even under heavy load in Diablo 4. Looking forward to Starfield down the road to push it - the card can chew up anything at 1080p (til I upgrade monitors eventually). Mostly though I can't wait to set up my PC VR with the Oculus so I can finally dive into Fallout:Alyx. For now I'm playing a very low-graphics Vampire Hunters ripoff called Halls of Torment that's been great for the 4 bucks I paid. Pretty funny that I spend double what I ever have on my first gfx card upgrade in years and I'm still playing games with very simple grapnics.
  8. I thought US Marshals was a downgrade, but definitely haven't seen it in more than a decade. I enjoyed it regardless; its plot kept me guessing and I liked that Snipes was a bit more questionable of a protagonist. As I recall, I didn't think Downey Jr quite fit in his role and wanted a different actor.
  9. As a last bastion of 3D-fanboyism, Cameron absolutely knows how to nail that niche of cinematography. That movie is corny - the love interest sk8ter boi is atrocious - but the lead actress is compelling, Waltz chews his scenery with aplomb, and most importantly the cyborg racing violence is a visual feast in 3D. I re-watch it every few months on my Quest 2, and it's quite immersive. My 3D top-5 are of course Avatar, with Alita, Tin-Tin, Big Hero 6 right behind it with a general tie of every Pixar movie there for a 12-way-tie for 5th. Animation is vastly superior for that dying media (I hope it re-surfaces, per se, once home VR headsets are commonplace in a few years).
  10. Finished the campaign a last time, boy are there some great cutscenes. Upon replaying it you can really see how it's patched together into the instanced world map with the standard Collect, Door, Collect, Door Boss layout of every dungeon. But it's compelling enough with some great voice acting (and vastly over-the-top music). New rig built soon, I'm gonna just blast efficiently in season 1 and push my Druid to 100 - hopefully there's more to post-60 endgame goals than Uber Lilith but regardless it'll be fun anyways. I'll be far behind the curve, but with the absolute lack of any trade or ladder, that won't matter - behind the super try-hards but ahead of the majority. It's odd that this is an MMO sort of, but it's basically a Solo Self Found mode for the vast majority of players due to an utter lack of in game grouping features. That D2 and D3 had since 2005 but hey Blizz said you can't expect everything from a brand new game right! Can't wait for the expansion at Christmas with a Prime Evil boss kill and multi-player features from 2016 D3! Apologies from the snark, as a Blizz fanboy in 1998.
  11. I'll definitely be abandoning my Eternal characters, but I'm very used to that since D2 ladders. I logged on to find the five or so Altars left, and I'm going to beat the campaign once more, with my Barb alt to see the A5 cutscenes again. Still definitely going to season start with Druid unless they gut the class. Will avoid Pulverise this time as it's just clunky as hell. I won't be able to play nearly as much as my earlier years and will be far behind many but I think it'll be a fun first season.
  12. I finally did it! After years of watching graphics card prices finally come to back to earth, I ordered the exact card I wanted for my system - a Radeon 6800xt for $480 from Amazon. Considered splurging for a 6950, but they're power hungry and I don't want to upgrade my PSU, and the 7xxx series are still beyond my budget. As of today, AMD purchases will send a code for Starfield, which I likely would have bought anyway. Really excited to build a new system this week. Well, specifically, move my current mobo and Ryzen and what not over to a tidy new Lian Li case I ordered, finally ditch internal hard disks, and have one speedy machine.
  13. Honestly, with as many millions of nerds who are horny for video game and anime characters, I'm baffled why the Leisure Suit Larry series from my childhood isn't a colossal ongoing thing.
  14. I am spoiled by POE's marquee seasons having huge new mechanics like Heist (an entirely separate endgame grind with fully voiced characters, different game play, build-enabling uniques). New affixes on rings - which are already vastly important in D4's awful itemization- are not very compelling. I suppose it's too late for a complete teardown of the weak-ass skill tree UX and soulless itemization in a game entirely built around hunting for a jackpot item. I'm still gonna go hard on season 1 within the limits of my being in my 40s with a career vs D2 and D3 when I had vast amounts of idle time. But man, there's just a ton wrong with this game that they even had fixed in D3! I think we'll all be playing this in 4 years thinking "damn past the campaign, D4 on release suuuuuuucked".
  15. So it's been a pretty downer season for the Cardinals faithful, that's for sure. Mozeliak asking for fan's "patience" weeks ago - and going like .300 since - really grinds my gears.
  16. I did some very late night NM sigil runs tonight on my 81 Druid. I can do ~40ish or more I expect, but I find 35 to be comfortable. At that level I'm getting probably 20% ancestrals vs 80% Sacreds, which feels fine. At the entry level to T4, the 21-25 sigils, seems like less than 10% of the drops are Ancestral. The 42 one I did was pretty rough on me and thus very inefficient for actual gear hunting, but it was probably 1/3rd Ancestral 2/3rd sacred. This is ridiculously small sample size and I'm sure Maxroll dot gg has a very clear explanation on itemization.
  17. A complete teardown and revamp of the UX? Doubtful. But as pointed out by the redditor, there are dozens of fixes that can and should happen. Many things that D2 and D3 were already doing. I've had fun with the game, but I feel like Blizzactivision will just spoon feed shit like the promised gem/material inventory tab they mentioned bit by bit with each season and a $30 xpack with lots of QoL stuff we've already got in Last Epoch and POE and D2R and D3. Even the atrocious Wolcen has a more user friendly UI and UX. (I'm still playing I just think it's a 9/10 one time campaign and a 4/10 extended Diablo experience)
  18. With the season coming I've definitely decided to stick with Druid, unless they ruin like all of it with nerfs. I got home from my July 4 closing bar shift and gamed a bit with my nice new werebear hat - I'm 78 and doing 45 sigils. I'm done with him for sure and just gonna casually push my lil barb alt into the 50+ level to enjoy some spin2win game play. Playing my amazing classic d2 mod (ProjectDiablo2) now and I just got an Ohm rune drop and was most fired up than anything that happened my last 50 hours of D4. They really need to flesh out some item chasing beyond their atrocious 7 mega-rare uniques. Literally millions of hours played worldwide and the world first The Grandfather dropped like 2 days ago. And its not tradeable. D4 itemization is lame as hell and I truly think they need a colossal revamp if they want seasons to be engaging.
  19. I popped back on my Druid last night after mostly going back to PD2. As ARPGs often seem to, I was rewarded with the Werebear hat that allows my generator to be ranged. Since we want our Pulverize and Shockwave blast to overlap on single target, it's far easier to position at the awkward ~5 yards away for my DPS. I would really like to try out a Shred build as it can be crazy fast with epic loot, and at least passable with building block gear. Not sure if I'll get there before Season 1 - i expect to main as a Druid again then. Sure hope we get a plethora of changes and new content though. Very unenthused by the itemization and 65 to 100 feeling empty.
  20. I have a Twitter account that has never posted a single Tweet; I follow maybe 12 people and it only perpetuates because Chrome won't let me log out, and occasionally these forum links send me off-site to actual Twitter. In the long run, I'm quite sad about Elon Musk's character arc. This is a nerdy forum and we all have read a ton of sci-fi. When this diamond-mine-financed dynamo had an electric car company, and was also pushing for off-world colonization, I thought he was a truly rare leader. Erp, no, he's just another sociopathic self-aggrandizing lunatic, and has abandoned any forward-thinking societal change instead opting to crater a $50 billion dollar company and vastly influential online service, ruining hundreds of careers, because of an ongoing temper tantrum.
  21. Salaries in the NBA are utterly baffling. VanVleet?! 42m man?? Jesus. And over in Portland, Dame's colossal contract, while still being a phenomenal player, is absolutely catastrophic to his Blazers, and also makes him super hard to trade. On my end of things, I'm sadly satisfied with the Vucevic 65m deal. When the Bulls are awful again he'll likely retain value assuming he doesn't break down.
  22. I've played a decent amount since the very nice exp-boosting patch. Levelling up my Glyphs is a lot more fun now that my paragon board is expanding much faster in Sigil dungeons. I am hunting for that damn helm as well! Near 80 now and unseen yet. Maul definitely doesn't feel great. I've been hoarding random well-rolled ancients just in case the werewolf caster hat stunningly drops, or perhaps a Shred build that I hear is lots of fun. The patch definitely made me want to push this character a bit more before seasons.
  23. Tywin my druid using thar build slowed down in the 50s as well. Companion dps became nearly useless, and my affix-boosted tornados were the heavy hitters. I had really unlucky items for it though: some of the drops you mentioned sounded really great for that midgame run. I'm not sure if the 70 capstone is viable with that hybrid build unless you have a really nice paragon tree (ie maxed renown) and a fairly lucky item payload. I had gotten some very good werebear items about then and I jumped to the Pulverize leveling meta and curb stomped the 70 capstone when I was 62. I reached 72 and realized my progression was over except for hoping for Tempest Roar - which has eluded lots of druid mains til well into thei 90s and screw that. I have happily gone back to my eternal grind in my adored D2 mod, PD2. Still want to level at least to midgame with one or two classes before the real D4 starts with a Season 1 (and we gotta assume a big endgame content patch beginning with the known T5 tier).
  24. Unlikely you found it. It's super rare. I definitely want to get to that build though I doubt I'll find it before Season 1 anyway. Been watching DatModz and a few others on Twitch blasting with it. Looks more fun than my current Pulverize or the nado/pets build we leveled with.
  25. Like most people seemed to, I had a couple random prefixes before Trash, then I unlocked "The" and changed to a more standard "The Elder" for my main. Saw at least 5 Titan jokes already running around; Soylent is not alone!
