  1. OK, even though the HoTU, a huge plot point, was reduced to little more than a weak action scene, I can understand some of the rationale. Mystical scenes that try to portray through imagery aspects of a complex narrative have already been proven to be a dud concept (see 80s Dune). But WTF were they doing with the attack of the Others? I remember that part of the book being actually pretty scary from a character perspective and built for TV Hordes of white walkers attacking at night have been replaced with a bunch of CGI wights trudging through the frozen wastes? What an idiotic replacement, they didn't even have to spend much money to film that scene. All they needed was a bunch of blue eyes running through the darkness and guys in black being cut to pieces. What a waste of a scene.
  2. Rains of Castamere, have to say that was a real tribute to the fans! Loved it :) . A few things here and there to appreciate the geeks are worthy.
  3. I leaned forward during the wildfire scene and shouted like the Toronto Maple Leafs had just won the cup. Hear me roar!
  4. Chill out Ned Stark. I download the show, I don't even have a TV to watch it on, and I support it in other ways. TV subscriptions aren't HBO's only revenue stream for GoT, that's for sure. DVDs, cups, mugs, advertising, ... etc etc. Actually, direct support of the show is better than HBO cloud support in terms of the bottom line.
  5. Agreed, Valar Morghulis is too big to cut out especially when they have a episode named that. I'm hoping that the reason we haven't seen Ramsay Bolton is because Cillian Murphy will be playing him but that is a stretch, not because Cillian is too expensive for this show, but because of the size of Ramsay's role. Maybe Cillian will head home to spend some time with family and film this thing :) ... fingers crossed.
  6. It does make sense that he would do that. She hasn't taken the name back yet.
  7. Yes, there's so much quality in the book that they've left out it makes you wonder why they felt compelled to put so much filler in. Also, they've rearranged the narrative to no benefit in some way that make the character's confusing, and less real. For example, in the books Catelyn releases Jamie and Robb has his affair both while the are in shock over the news of the death of Bran and Rickon at Theon's hands. So, in effect they both betray the war effort in the desperation of grief. Instead, in the show Catelyn does it out of some desperate gamble and Robb out of pure lust. I don't see why they had to make that plot/character change.
  8. Tyrion: "We've had vicious kings, and we've had idiot kings...but I don't know if we've ever been cursed with a vicious idiot for a king!" Joffrey: "You, you can't!" Tyrion: "I can, I am!" Joffrey: "They attacked ME!" Tyrion: "They threw a cowpie at you! So you decide to kill them all?! They're starving, you fool! All because of a war you started!" Joffrey: "You're talking to a king!" [Tyrion slaps Joffrey across the face, sending him sprawling] Tyrion: "And now I've struck a king! Did my hand fall from my wrist?!" Vanessa Taylor Rocks.
