Well, that was some major league bs they were trying to feed us. So, I guess besides St. Tyrion, D&D's favourite character is indeed Ramsay Sue. He is a genius, who outwits his cold, ruthless, calculating father. And how? By managing to get the northern lords on his side, Well, Karstark at least. And with the power of his charm I guess, because he has nothing else. A used-to-be bastard highborn son openly kills his father and no one bats an eye, now that's an accomplishment right there. Not only that, he's also a master tactician and strategist. But I suppose the Roose is not loose anymore, huh? And what was up with that awkward-as-hell hug? They seriously couldn't come up with a better way for Ramsay to off him? I bet they were thinking what geniouses they were because it mirrored how Roose killed Robb. Well that alone doesn't make it good, I'm sorry. And why would Roose let his guard down like that? It's even out of character for TV Roose to do so. And now that Ramsay killed his newborn brother, who will be his heir? I guess he plans on getting Sansa back to produce one, but just in case he should have let the baby live. Anyway, just like with every death on GoT nowadays, I feel sorry for the actor who did a great job with the piss poor material he was given. R.I.P. TV Roose.

On other fronts, we have Balon finally dying, killed by Euron, as suspected. What's up with relatives killing each other in the last two episodes? Does kinslaying bother no one anymore?

Arya was fine, whatever, I liked her storyline last season, but now it seems to be going nowhere. We'll see.

Jon was resurrected, now that's a giant freaking surprise. All that hype, speculation and secrecy around his death, only to be resurrected 2 episodes in. D&D are visionaries, I'm telling you. That's quality stuff right there.

To be honest, I kinda felt like Bran, in the sense that I didn't want the flashback to stop because it looked more interesting than anything happening on the show right now.

Oh and one more thing. Am I the only one who's bothered by all the freaking recastings all the time? It just takes me out of the story completely. For exapmle, what was the point of recasting the three-eyed Raven other than having Max von Sydow to play him. The same thing happened last year with Myrcella.

    Yes. To all of this.

And also, could someone BESIDES Davos had begged Mel for magic. We set up seasons of Davos hating/being afraid of her magic. And then today he 'magically' oh Mels, can't you do a little hocus pocus for us? That line couldn't have been delivered by anyone else? They just assassinated the character they set up.

How much less could you care?

Well, it's nice to know there are a few minutes that I can sneak to the bathroom if I forget before the show. So that is nice.

Bran's visions were good. I hope they are setting us up for more.

I liked Arya's scene. That was solid.

I was glad to see Thorne get his at last.

    That was it.

It was farrrrr better than last week's episode, that is for sure.

I thought it was full of plot holes, but I am getting used to that and trying to focus on what's good and just gloss over the rest.

  4. I am

    a. Glad that Jon is back, but not convinced he is gone/not just glamoured by Mel... I think UnJon is too cheap and I am prayyyying that GRRM can do better....

    b. Loved the flashbacks with bran and hope it is setting up more of Lyanna's backstory or at least setting up TOJ. Looking forward to that. Hopefully they get it right.

    c. Loved Arya. Looking forward to her development.

    d. Loved that the wildlings came to Jon's aid to defend his honor and Thorne finally got his.

I'm wondering what the effect Jon's second coming will have on Mel and the wildlings. Is he removed from the NW now?

I could care less about the rest of the show/characters at this point tbh.

  5. I hate everything about how they are doing this, but I am also glad that they are doing this "Weisseroff" style so that the books will still be rich and done right and still surprising and unspoiled. Also, I bet she fails because shocking...

  6. I loved the Bran flashbacks and I am glad that Saint Tyrion didn't go the way of Quentin. Really excited for the Arya arc. At least this part seems to still be in tact.

  7. I thought Mereen was going to be boring, but based on this chapter order and what we know thus far, this is going to at least be fantastic!

What's interesting here is that we are getting, in Barristan's words, a replay of Redgrass Field but - with the lose dragons - I could very easily see us getting a replay of the "Field of Fire." If Vic blows his horn and disrupts Barristan's plans, they may fear the day is lost until the dragons appear and roast everyone alive. If Mereen is burnt to the ground along with most of the people around it and her enemies, it would very easily end the Mereen storyline and allow for the survivors to start their trek back to Westeros.

OMG. Yes, please. The best way to untie the Mereenese knot is to just burn it! Goodbye harpy, Krappo mo Whattiz, and floppy ears. It will also end the pale mare by burning the infected bodies.

    Talisa: -1

Talisa talking and being Talisa and Cat says not much: -1

Sansa looking ungrateful because the surprise needed to be there: -1

    gratuitous nudity: -1

I was so excited to see A BEAR! scene, but there was something somewhat blander than I had expected. I didn't believe they were in danger. When I read it, I was trembling.
