That’s just the Presidential primary. Look at the House. Wouldn’t Republican nominees be less likely to be radical if non-Republicans were allowed to vote in Republican Primaries? Wouldn’t all nominees be more Likely to reflect the entire community they are being nominated to represent if they are elected by everyone in the community rather than party members or only people who choose to vote in that primary waving their right to vote in then other primary?

@Gorn The State has no business funding the election of two major party nominees for various elections. You complain about “smoke filled rooms” ignoring the fact that these “elections” aren’t for any public position. This is an election for the… nominee… for a general election. Why are we as the general public paying for these elections? Why the fuck, given that I’m paying for them, don’t I have the ability to vote in both major party primaries? If the point is to “promote participation” and to allow the public to pick these nominees then fucking let the public pick these fucking nominees don’t limit the public to either one primary or another. We are paying for the privilege of radicalized candidates because of the stupid way primaries are run.

What a minute… the Star Destroyer bridge was breeched… they jumped to a different Galaxy… I have to say it… ”It’s an alien [Galaxy] Is there air? You don’t know”… -

This! So much this! I hate with a holy passion stories where “good people” are too stupid or naive to believe evil is working against them. Competent heros and villains are so much more satisfying. -

But Galaxies… are… really big. That’s like saying, “I’m looking for Bob.” ”Well, he’s on Earth.” Times a trillion, trillion… -

Okay. Finished the second episode. It’s okay. Worth continuing to watch. Why is everyone in almost every Star Wars show that isn’t a named character incompetent or corrupt? Wouldn’t it have been more interesting and challenging to have a guy attempting to run a legitimate business who was talked into using ex-Imperials out of a sincere desire to rehabilitate? Who was really thought these folks wanted to reform? Who was surprised by the hyperdrive being “classified”. Who wanted to help and discovered he is being used? One of the things that Andor did well was portray the Imperial ISB as competent and difficult to hide from. Why in Mandolorian and now Ashoka are all New Republic people in administrative positions portrayed as disintered, incompetent, or corrupt? It is a galactic scale organization… surely they can’t all be like that? -

Yeah… I also like Dawson. She has gravitatas. But the script feels like it is written in crayon. I reserve full judgment until I finish the second episode from the point where I fell asleep. -

I fell asleep. That’s how little it held my interest. Out of curiosity are you a big Rebels and other Star Wars Animated show fan? -

Why do “bad guys” always have Red lightsabers? I think “Andor” may have ruined Star Wars for me. It is difficult to move back to comic melodramatic stories after seeing what a well written, well acted, well directed Star Wars story is like to experience.
