  1. "Last week: I hope Melisandre dies a terrible death. This week: Help us, Melisandre, you're our only hope!" HAHAHA! My feelings exactly.
  2. I never gave any spoilers! In fact, it was just too much fun watching the reactions of the Unsullied! :-P Not everyone was being arrogant about having read the books, we were just enjoying it, too! With a little more insight into the future, no big deal. And I wouldn't say any of my hopes have been dashed! I don't think The Bastard of Winterfell has breathed his last! I have faith :-) And just remember, if book 6 comes out in the next year (MIRACLE!), it will start all over again! LoL I liked it! Haha but I agree, I never spoiled anything!
  3. Sansa was involved in something important - though she had some inkling of what Ramsay was at the last minute, I don't think she fully understood the implications of being his wife. But the important part was that she was trying to reclaim the North, in the only way she was presented with. She thought she was doing something important, and it really seemed like she was! The fact that it all turned to sh*t and a desperate escape is irrelevant, I think. The Boltons are very huge villains in the show - considering all they've done to the Starks - and Sansa engaging them in whatever way was super interesting! She really wasn't doing anything much in the Vale and I was a little bored with her there. I usually don't like changes to the show from the books but once I accepted them, I realized they really weren't quite so terrible after all!
  4. NO! I don't see him being dead, do you? But how could he survive being surrounded by blades that stabbed over and over?! I've just seen a lot of you guys saying that in the books Shireen will die and somehow save Jon... do we really think that?! I never thought about it honestly, but I think I can see it happening... It's not supposed to be him, it's not even supposed to be a man - it's supposed to be one of the Sand Snakes - Nymeria, right? It's an interesting decision to make it Trystane, a little irritating but not all that surprising, considering how the Sand Snakes have been portrayed in the show.
  5. I actually think it was really important for us to be focused on Stannis in this whole situation. It's obvious that Selyse and Melisandre were influencing him, but they were not the important factors here - this could never have gone down without Stannis' approval and acceptance, so the ladies essentially didn't matter in the whole thing. Focusing on Stannis was what was significant, because it was his decision, and we had to feel that. Oh, I think it's gonna play a big part! It's gonna be his whole defense about why they need to work together, and why the wildlings need to be involved. He's been talking and talking about a common enemy, and now he has seen and fought and lost many to them! This isn't just gonna be background or filler, I think it's gonna be the basis for his arguments. PERFECTION! His act was still evil, and the fact that he did it "for the realm" does not take away from the fact that he was willing to watch (and listen to) his daughter burning to death before his eyes without even blinking an eye. There is some evil inside of him, whatever his cause is.
  6. I agree! D&D said at the end of the episode that Stannis, once he puts his mind to something, there's no changing it. He's very rigid, and that is both his strength, and his weakness. It was incredibly shocking and horrifyingly tragic, but it was also very Stannis. He is completely devoted to becoming the "rightful king" and saving the realm that he is being influenced by Melisandre into thinking that something this crazy is necessary! My question is, did she need to actually burn, to die? They have used "king's blood" before, and it was effective enough to kill three kings! Why couldn't they use some of her blood, or heck, some of Stannis' blood?!
  7. By the "really big stuff" do you mean FOR THE WATCH?! Because I don't know if I'm ready for that! Do we think it could happen in the next episode already? That would mean they would have to change the reason for it happening, but that's nothing new...
  8. So, Shireen definitely hasn't met this fate in the books, right?! After the episode, David Benioff said something like "When George told us about this, we just thought 'It's so horrible!'" So is he saying that this is something we're gonna see in the future of the books sometime?! P.S. LOVED this episode! I was kinda going crazy about all of the changes at first, but I've learned to love them. And, of course, what actually does follow along with the books is awesome, too!
  9. Do we think that that old lady could have been sent from Brienne? She did say something about getting a message to her and then BAM! Kindly old lady lets her know she is not alone :-) I really am missing Griff in the show! I absolutely loved him :crying: Totally knew Jorah was gonna get it! He replaced Griff in some ways, and it just had to be that way. And Hizdahr really has turned out to be a weakling in the show! His character is nothing like HZL in the book!
  10. Right! I REALLY hope they don't skimp on Jaime & Tyrion's scene - I want to see it in all of its debilitating glory. Hazzea flambe? LoL! That's terrible. And Lady Stoneheart, I feel like she could be the very last scene! I mean, it's not a terribly long scene. as I recall... is it? But definitely no space for fillers! Every second has to count. On another note, Jon becoming Lord Commander, I'm definitely thinking that's not happening until next season! I think his arc will end with Stannis' (hopefully) epic arrival and subsequent kicking of some Wildling ass.
  11. So, I totally thought that Stannis' arrival was gonna close out the episode! I was almost sure of it. But I can't say that I'm TOO disappointed that it didn't - Jon Snow is by far my favorite character (Jaime coming in second) and I loved him having this whole episode! I do think it was kinda weird to have him decide to go confront Mance himself - because he didn't seem to keen on the idea in the book! But I don't hate it, it's just... different. I still feel like Stannis will definitely get his moment! I have high hopes that it won't just be a bleh moment, it'll be all it's supposed to be. Pyp AND Grenn?! Come on, RIP Grenn :-( I don't think Jon is daft at all! In both the books and the show, I think he makes (mostly) the best decisions he can - and I happen to think he's a clever guy, with awesome swordfighting skills to boot! I think he's a super conflicted character - caught between two worlds - but that he tries to always do what he thinks is right. Sure he makes mistakes, but who doesn't?! I don't think those mistakes make him stupid. With the books, we are focused so much more on him that we get to know his character on a more personal level, so of course we know his depth even more in print. But show Jon is still kick-ass. I totally liked this episode - and it breezed by! It was over before I was ready for it to be over, I didn't even realize it had reached the end! I have never not liked an episode of the show (just maybe little moments here and there where things were really CHANGED) and I'm not gonna start now!
  12. Agreed! I thought it was a great episode! The duel was amazing and Pascal - Perfection. Definitely going to miss him. I guess I would be nitpicky about Arya's identity being revealed, and Sansa... her becoming this sort of temptress - did I miss something in the books?! It was kind of an off thing to happen at the moment, I remember her in the books as being a little bit more quiet and just following Littlefinger's lead... I wonder how far they're going with her new attitude - how far they will take her and LF's relationship...
  13. I completely agree! I thought his fighting was awesome! That was how I read it, too. He looked so graceful, and it all looked a bit effortless... SO sad to see him go too RIP Prince Oberyn! Jaime's face while watching Oberyn fight was priceless! He looked so impressed! Haha And Tyrion's face towards the end - his face was saying what we were all thinking... KILL HIM! Even though I knew the ending to this story, I still felt broken and traumatized! *sigh* Still heart-breaking.
