[Poll] How would you rate episode 806?

In the (somewhat modified) words of Eric Cartman: Crap, crappety crap, crap, crap! On the other hand - if you know a show has come to its utter and final end, you might as well make people hate it so they don't miss it when it's all over... 2. Not a 1 simply because Tyrion didn't buy it

How will they deal with the ballistaes?

I guess you're right there. And all in all I have to say that the overall quality of the show has sunk constantly over the last three seasons since they ran out of books to rely on. Even if GRRM is said to be involved in the creation of the storyline for the show it's become a lot less interesting to watch. I don't know if it's me as well, but I suddenly feel like I'm watching The Bold and The Beautiful or something, and I just can't bring myself to care anymore. I'll obviously watch the final episodes just to see how it turns out, but I can't bring myself to feel emotional about it. All through The Long Night I was pretty much just waiting to see who would finally kill the night king and find out which characters would still be alive after the battle. The fact that it all took place in darkness making it hard to see who was who and what was going on didn't make it more interesting either...

How will they deal with the ballistaes?

Any thoughts about the massive stupidity in the plot twist of using ballistas as ship artillery smashing an enemy fleet into smithereens from a considerable distance? Not only the fact that spears fired from long distance apparently flew in an extremely flat trajectory - implying an equally extreme starting velocity and thus also extreme lauch energy - but also the immense speed with which the ballistas were apparently reloaded, considering the huge swarms of projectiles hammering into Dany's fleet. And Euron must indeed have had considerable time for target practise unless the 3 plus hits scored on Rhaegal were pure luck. Hitting a flying object with a single projectile sure is no easy feat.

    The Golden Company!

I just thought it was stupid beyond stupid to see The Golden Company pledge some kind of loyalty (based on money, I know, but still) to Cersei. Considering their storyline from the books - not least what they do at the end of ADWD - their appearance in the show totally contradicts this. Which on the other hand doesn't surprise me that much - there's been a lot of weird things happening over the last two seasons as well, starting with the fate of Stannis...

I'm a faceless man of Braavos having currently assumed the Lorathi identity of Jaqen H'ghar. I got hooked on the first season of the GoT TV series when it aired on national Swedish TV earlier this year (it aired on pay cable last year but I'm too cheap to pay for that). Before a trip in early May I bought the first book and since then I've been hooked on the books as well. As it happened I got sent on an assignment to Germany meaning travel back and forth every week giving me plenty of time for reading, so right now I'm wrapping up ASoS and have AFfC awaiting in my briefcase for this evening's flight back to Stockholm. I discovered this forum - and all of westeros.org - when one of the admins was a guest in a Swedish mini talk show that was broadcast after each episode of GoT with the purpose of discussing the week's episode. I've been lurking since then but finally got around to register yesterday. Since I have a pretty good eye for details and a more or less annoying ability to keep track of relations and plot threads I'm pretty certain I'll be able to bug you all with a lot of posts in the future :cool4:
