  1. This is terribly disappointing, folks. Only five replies after a three-month thread hiatus. Where's the ire that I've come to love and expect? Where's the dripping contempt? We have as much will to gripe as Rothfuss has to write.
  2. I was finally getting set to subscribe to catch up when lo and behold! I get an email for a free month trial. So, of course, we've binged the whole series to date in 4 days. Well, 3. My wife, who resisted watching it as she didn't care for the 80's version, about screamed when we finished episode 7 yesterday and she realized ep 8 hadn't dropped yet. There was a real conversation about staying up to midnight to watch it, but I had to get up early to take my son to work. Yeah, the show is amazing. While I know there is CGI all over the place, it's so well done and used to enhance rather than "be" the sets, it just feels like a peek into 1600 Japan. The care over the details is top notch. Toronaga is by far m favorite character. Hiroyuki Sanada has always been solid, and he just shines here with all the layers of his three hearts on display.
  3. I think AMatW at least had Luis to bolster it, but I completely agree it wasn't very good either. Don't get me wrong. I'm a huge fan of AM1 and think Rudd is great in the role. But both his second two movies are on the lower end of the spectrum in the MCU rankings.
  4. Antman 3 was by far worse than Marvels. I actually enjoyed Marvels, even though it wasn't great. The dynamic between the three worked well, even if the story was weak. Antman was just... bad. Story, production, characters, all underwhelming.
  5. So are they going to say Earth 90210 is the "woke" multiverse? *don't read too much into the zipcode choice. Just pulled the first funny number I could think of.
  6. Come on actors! Take a feathered 'do or a can of hairspray for the team!
  7. Enter the new Rule 34 subgroup: Shinies
  8. The guy standing next to Cavill looked really familiar so I looked him up. I recognized him from Warrior Queen, but did not realize he was young Voldermort from HP6. Lad grew up.
  9. TBF, her transformation in the source comics was pretty drastic from shunned wife to deal with the devil to Goblin Queen. It's been about a minute (or 30 years) since I last read the comics, but one minute she was missing her son to suddenly reigning over the ashes of demonic New York.
  10. As much as I think stretching their conflict over years, if not decades, is lame, I think just skipping past it during the prologue is even more so. They've set up the conflict with a pretty strong break at the end of part 2. I assume Denis had a good resolution in mind before making that big of a change from the source material. If not, maybe we're better off just having two spectacular Dune movies in this iteration.
  11. Heady Lamar would like a word. Or I guess let her patents speak for her.
