  1. I love Mads and support him playing any character, but are we really double dipping already? Dr Strange: "I feel like I have deja vu." Doom: "Possibly. Who am I to judge." I guess Michelle Yeoh and Gemma Chan have already appeared in two separate roles.
  2. My son actually really liked Dr Strange at 10. But I know it's not the usual go to favorite hero. I will say, that I'm glad we have more female heroes for the girls to look up to. Capt Marvel should've been that main draw as strong as Wonder Woman. Apparently, her only fan girl seems to be Kamala Khan
  3. Another dynamic is that the original "kid" audience is now all grown up. My boys are now both in high school and neither are interested in Marvel. Well, they both saw GotG3, but I think Shang Chi was the last one we've all four seen in the theater together. None of the new batch of movies has felt as kid friendly. Not in the kiddie sense, but in the draw. Back in the day, all the kids were dressed as Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Black Widow, etc. I think the only Marvel costumes I've seen these last few Halloweens is maybe one Captain Marvel (a year ago). Marvel isn't grabbing the imagination of the current crop of 6-12 year olds.
  4. Granted they were only loosely aiming (hoping) for an Avengers movie at first, they were still able to organically sow the seeds of the end of Phase 1 within the others. Loki was established in Thor and the Tessaract in Cap. Again, Age of Ultron was organically set up in the others. IM3 = Stark with PTSD wanting to create a shield around the world. Cap 2 = Rogers starting to distrust idea of power in the wrong hands. Ultron was the result of both vision* and worst nightmare of both Rogers and Stark. Of course, that concept took one step further in Civil War (Avengers 2.5) to break up the team, and set up losing in Infinity War. The only thing I feel from Phase 4 is the Chaos of the Multiverse (which I guess is the point?) and the leadership vacuum left in the wake of Endgame. *unintended nod toward Vision. heh.
  5. Corvinus was NOT going to be ninja'd again in the same thread! ETA: They should just recon Loki's finale as having solved the Kang problem and move forward with Doom and/or X-Men. It's not like anyone is really invested in Kang as a character/threat.
  6. I was going to ask about Madame Webb in the Trailer thread, but this seems like the better place. Given the nebulous nature of the Multiverse Saga in the MCU, my question about Sony's multiverse intersecting MCU Prime feels appropriate way to start a new thread. So. We have another Spiderverse movie. Have they even confirmed whether Venom, Morbius (snicker), Kraven, and Madame Webb are in the same universe? All I know is Tom Holland's Spider-Man is in 616 and Tom Hardy's Venom is not. And they wonder why casual viewers are overwhelmed and confused by MCU Phase 4 and 5 alongside Sony's Phase 1.5.
  7. Too many of the Marvel shows would've been better movies, which adds to the chore of keeping up. Even the "good" ones feel slow at some point during their seasons, including huge favorites like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Loki. I enjoy the characters having time to breathe, but it'd be nice if the stories drove the episode length rather than the current normal. We've gone from 22-24 episodes a year to 13 to 8 and now 6. Loki seasons 1 & 2 could've fit combined into an 8 episode limited series. Or 10.
  8. I liked Celine Dion's cover better. Wait, what?
  9. Not going to lie. I hope it is all that. Sounds like a fun time. If Snyder can hold all that story together. Seems like an extremely broad intergalactic canvas to kick off the first installment. And we saw how quickly he pushed into DC... Color me reluctantly optimistic.
  10. The cross over we truly need for the Multiverse Saga. Kang: I am the Conqueror. I have a legion of me. Loki: About that. We have a sith. Vader (looks at the field of Kangs): I see only a dead man. And his dead clones.
  11. The visual flip of the Loom at the end was amazing. It should've been so obvious given the mythological connections, but I didn't expect that. Well done.
  12. Wow. He must have been some kind of leader to be basically given a series of battlefield promotions across a hos of battles. Or someone just wanted the world to have a General Pennypacker in it.
  13. "Let's do this. Napoleoooooooooooooonnnnn... Bon....aER....parte........"
  14. Granted, Deadpool is kind of its own thing anyway. I am curious how they're going to pull Reynolds' iteration of Deadpool into the MCU. Mutliverse hand waving or have him just fourth wall his way through it.
  15. I hope that speculation is wrong.... I'd rather see a clean slate moving forward than clinging to past casting.
  16. Looks like I'm signing up for Hulu in February. I've been meaning to rewatch the 80's miniseries (I actually bought it on dvd way back when). If I wait to rewatch later, it might be like watching Dune 2000 after seeing the new film.
  17. Yes. But it's quite dated now. Pony tails There were some really good concepts (The Watchers, Methos, etc) and story arcs. I liked how half of the seasons were set in "Seacouver" and the other shot on location in Paris. There were also a bunch of lame filler episodes (much of season 1), absolutely awful ones (all of season six), and a movie where they decided to outdo Highlander 2 as the worst HL movie ever (The Source). But the diamonds are worth sifting for, if you like the first movie. The Series is a direct continuation of the first movie if you accept that while the duel with the Kurgan happened, it wasn't the last fight for the Prize. Just a normal day for an Immortal. Connor even shows up in the series premiere. Fun fact: I first adopted the moniker "Myrddin" on a Highlander message board.
  18. Completely different tone from the other trailers. They've gone from buddy film to end of the world with the snap of Tony's fingers. Also, Reddit is all a buzz about the person passing in from of Monica at the end. Apparently, the lower right of the monitor looks like an X-Men logo. Surely they're not introducing Mutants here in this already crowded film?
  19. (That = Use season 2 to wipe Kang) Just have Loki grab a fistful of Infinity Stones from that drawer and wish Kang away.
  20. Seeing how they're starting to backpedal on Kang, they really could've used this season of Loki to eliminate that cosmic threat to reality (and Disney's bank account) and just move us forward to Dr Doom or even the X-Men.
  21. Question is: will they merge Disney+ with Hulu or keep them separate? I can see them doing either. Bolster D+'s weak catalog of new shows (they obviously have strong existing library) with Hulu to justify the rising subscription price. Or hope that households will double dip for both, or pay for a "discounted" bundle price with ESPN.
  22. If the trailer is any indication, maybe Disney+ Daredevil won't be that far off the Netflix version.
