  1. I wish I could express my disappointment with this season overall. I am an avid book fan, read this and other websites and have travelled to another state to see the show on the big screen. But all my hope has been killed. If this is how George Martin is going to end his story, well lets just say that it turned into a pretty sad tale. And the time I invested in a great story; has been wasted. :bang:
  2. I loved everything about this episode, it puts all the moves to take the iron throne in one tiny little nutshell. And the giant was incredible. When he stomped on his first wight I almost fell out of my chair. And when the dogs howled, the hair on the back of my neck stood up. I am praying they have this adapted to the big screen and I will be able to go to a cinemax and watch it. Can't wait for the next 2 episodes.
  3. I gave this episode a solid 7. I was very surprised that they showed Robb's body with Greywinds head on it while chanting and laughing King of the North. It was a shock for me in the book and I did not think they would actually show it. I liked the way they had Bran tell the story of the Rat Cook. My Unsullied friends did not understand how serious it was that Walder Frey murdered his guests. The timing on that story was very good. I missed Tyrions line about "Sansa being fertile before or after I tell her we murdered her brother and mother" I loved Charles Dance sending Joffrey to bed without his supper. That man is Tywin Lannister through and through. The part I didn't like was Gendry trying to row to Kings Landing. WTF? And I don't know why Arya had to meet the Freys on the road instead of in an inn like in the book. That seemed very odd. I love the chemistry between her and the Hound in this series. Well, a year to wait, so now my 4th reread will begin.
  4. You nailed the reason I didn't vote for a 10. I really wanted to see Greywind take out some Frey's. The customs of the time and the books are very important and add to all the tension, so I don't understand why they leave them out. How much more dialog can it add to talk about making sure you eat so you are a guest and have hospitality rites. They have watered down the wolves too. At least we got to see Shaggydog and Summer save Jon, but the books have so much more of the bonding that goes on with the Stark children and their wolves.
  5. I couldn't agree with you more and one other thing. Since when has Arya not become physical in a situation like this? She really likes Gendry and he is all the family she has had for awhile. Just to let them take him without any kind of a fight is very untrue to her character. I think the meeting with her and Mel has more to do with the prophecy of the old tree woman. I think these eye colors are referring to the people she has killed, or will. I also don't quite understand how Mel could find the Brothers so quickly. Hasn't the Mountain been looking for them all this time?
  6. I love the way we are sticking more to the book in all the really important scenes. NCW looked really sick and suffering too. I have already watched it twice and will watch it again later this week. The only thing I didn't like was the Loras scene with the squire. In the books he was a member of the Kings guard and after Renly you never get the impression that Loras wanted anyone else. I suppose somewhere, somebody is loving these scenes but not hard core fans I am sure. I really laughed when Tywin nailed Cersei with the" You will do your duty too".
  7. I agree with a lot of what you have written, but it seems like lots of people think that Rickon ran off for good??? With Summer??? I didn't get that impression at all. He just ran down a hill, and Bran sent Summer to watch out for him. I am sure we will see Rickon and Osha go off together soon, now that the Reeds are here. They are awesome. I also don't get that Ghost is with the Men of the NIghts watch. What the heck is that about? Ghost was with Jon. I don't mind changes to make things go better, but having a hard time understanding some of the deviations we saw last week. As some one else said, " There is a lot of material, why invent stuff?"
