Hello everyone
Eddard Stark here. It's taken me some time to get the hang of this internet thing, but here I am!
Only joking of course, hehe. Seriously though, it's good to be here. Nice to meet you all. Also I agree with what DireWolfSpirit has said, I've been very impressed with the depth of ideas and discussions around here. I'm looking forward to getting more involved. I registered a few months ago, but had some trouble with logging in and such, so am looking forward to getting stuck in!
Welcome, Eddard Stark, to the boards!

Greetings round the world to all of the Song of Ice and Fire followers.
What a pleasure it is for me to read all your commentary.
I am DireWolfSpirit and I'm brand new to the forum , so I will be lurking and learning,
hopefully able to get up to speed on how everything works here.
Have been uber impressed with many posters depth and imaginations over the
material thus far and will be commenting more in the near future.
Welcome to the boards!

Hello everyone! :)
I just wanted to drop in here and introduce myself. I've been a Song of Ice and Fire fan since (about) 2009. I'll admit the size and scope of the books were daunting to me at the time, so it took quite a while for me to make it through them (even though I was enjoying them immensely). I ended finishing ASOS during the airing of Game of Thrones Season 1 in 2011.
I'm a massive fan of both the books and the television series, and have been itching to have a place to discuss them in-depth. I've lurked and even posted a bit on a certain other GoT-related site, but it's not really the kind of forum atmosphere I like. I have been directed here by a fellow TORN (TheOneRing.Net) forum member, who highly recommended this site and the members here.
I've lurked here for a couple weeks, but have felt the urge to finally register if for no other reason than to gush about the new The World of Ice and Fire book, which I received in the mail Tuesday. It's everything I could have hoped for in such a book, and I've been pouring through it ever since I got it in my hands. :)
I look forward to some great discussion and can't wait to get to know you guys!
BTW, as to my favorite character: In the books, Jon Snow. In the series, Ned Stark (big Sean Bean fan, I can't help it). Of course I love Tyrion, but that would be too easy on my part. ;)
Welcome to the boards and thank you for your nice introduction!

Greetings fellow creatures!
After lurking around and having my mind blown by some interesting theories and details I've always missed while reading the books, I've finally gotten around to making an account so that I can pester you guys with my questions and weird ideas. ;-)
Asoiaf has been an obsession of mine ever since I've first discovered the show two or three years ago. Since then I've watched it countless times and am currently reading the books for the second time.
Sooo... what else? I don't know... I'm from Germany and I like beer.
Welcome to the boards!

Hello everyone! I am not really new on this forum, since I've "spied" you for almost a year. Now I finally decided to join you and start share my thoughts, and not only read. I also join the Italian forum of ASOIAF forum, this saga is my obsession
Forgive me for my poor English, but, as I said, it's not my first language.
See you around!
Benvenuto!

Thank you both for the warm welcome! Much appreciated :)
KTI: You're welcome indeed. =o)
I swear I'd say this even if your name was King Jaime, Tyrion has to be my favorite! ;)
Tyrion is awesome. Nevertheless, I'm no apologist - I'm rather a Lannister fanboy in general. But Tyrion's my favorite Lannister.

Welcome, Kieria, to the boards!
Who's your favorite character?

Hi I'm Hannah. Having just finished ADWD today, and beginning to feel the void open up in my life, I figured it was about time I actually started using this account.
I look forward to lurking
and maybe even making usesless comments from time to time...Welcome to the boards, Hannah!

Greetings!! Welcome to Westeros, tyrionfan94!
I highly recommend the books. If you love Tyrion as your name suggests, you will love him even more. I love Peter Dinklage's Tyrion, but book Tyrion is even better. The highs are higher and his lows are lower.
:agree: I as a fellow Tyrion fan second that whole-heartedly.

Hey, how's it going? I just joined. Haven't read the books but I've watched the show and think it's great!
Welcome to the boards!
Hope you enjoy your stay here. =o) But beware, the board is large and full of spoilers.

Hello Im new here. Glad to be here. Im from Denmark. Im mostly a fan of the books but I also enjoy watching the tvseries from time to time which I also find is really well made. Im only on the fourth book so far. I felt like it was dragging a bit so I put it away for awhile but have now started back up with courage and lots of enthusiasm :)
For the moment Im very exited about the connections Ive found with Cercei and Danny/Sansa to the fairytale Snow White. And Also I think Gendry is a more important character then is implied for the time being. I believe he will end up as the King over "Whatever land" we end up with in Westeros after the wars are over.
I have a question which I cant seem to find answer to in the help section. Ive tried to upload an avatar pic but nomatter how small and how few pxls I make it it wont load, how can that be?
Looking forward to having lots fun discussions here :)
Did you hit "save"? Sometimes clearing the cookies does the trick.
Welcome to the boards!
Hello, my name is Sarah, I'm 16 and my mother tongue is French, so I'm sorry if I make any mistakes! I've read all the books except ADWD, my favourite characters are Cersei and Petyr.
Bye! :)
Bienvenue!

my name is Javiera but you all can call me Javi, i'm from Perth in Western Australia :).
I love both the books and the TV series, when i finished the books last year a friend of mine ( who had also read the books) recommended this forum, because we were always chatting about theories and possible outcomes our favorites characters might be a part of. since then i ve been reading a lot, however it never occurred to me to join. so glad i did :)
cheers to all

Hi everyone! This board seemed really nice and it's always amazing to share points of views between fans, when we all understand each other and have a passion in common :)
So here's a short presentation...
I'm Justine, fourteen, and i'm from Canada.
I always loved Middle Ages stories, all those knights, kings and ladies tales. And then I heard of Game of Thrones. I started watching it something like six months ago. Yes i'm a new fan. Then I fell in love and started reading the books. I'm currently reading A Clash of Kings and soon enough A Storm of Swords. It's such a fascinating world, so deep and complex. I always had a fascination for the Lannisters, even though the Starks will forever be "my first favs" I'm sorry, it was a bit long. I can lost myself when I start.
And first of all, please forgive me for my english, I talk french in real life. Hope you'll understand.
Thank you really much for reading this, really happy to join this forum.
Welcome to the boards!
Bienvenue! =o)

Hi all, I'm Clare. I'm from liverpool, England and I've been lurking these boards for a while now. I started off with the show but I received the books last Christmas and stormed through them.
My favourite character changes daily. I'm particularly interested in the mystical/prophecy elements to the story, but I am neither eloquent nor original enough to come up with anything to add to the discussions so far, so you'll usually find me on the more light hearted threads.
Welcome to the boards!

Hello! I'm new here but no so new to ASOIAF. I'm currently rereading the series because it's been so long since my first read. My favorite character is also Tyrion but love to hate Sweet Cersei!
Welcome!
My favorite character is also Tyrion. All the Lannisters are great in fact.

Welcome, Lou, to the board!

Lannister business, eh?
Thank you for your kind words. About me. =o)

Hey, Tywin, mate. Welcome. <g>
Welcome, Mark!
Like I say, "Never give up on us Lannisters." :smug:

Yes it is :), they're both great poems and polar opposites.
I've always liked his "Songs of Innocence & Songs of Experience". So, it's a great pick. =o)

I'm female but I'm sure the link is an interesting read, I will check it out later.
Thank you all for the welcomes.
By the way, your usernick is a nice allusion to William Blake. Am I right?

I actually got a question for D&D.
Why didn't they keep the Pycelle - Tywin scene in the final version? Besides the length of the episodes. I know it's an extra.
Someone pointed out the symbolism in it.
In the first season, Tywin skins a stag, later on he orchestrates the Red Wedding where wolves and trouts (Tullys) are extinguished.
So why not keep that scene all along?

Well, this title actually is true for a part of the forum where my Queen and I rule.
So bow to me. =oD
