  1. I can't stand reading some of these hateful and sarcastic comments that always wind up in this thread about how this show is garbage. Just going to give my rating and leave. 9/10
  2. I don't know how many times I can say this. Jamie is NOT a rapist!!!! The director said it was consensual. Just read the last paragraph of this article: http://www.ibtimes.c...roversy-1574209 It's fair to criticize the director, but to call Jamie something he's not, because the director screwed up is unfair. BTW, Ser Arthur Heath, is that a picture of Cuthbert???
  3. What did GRRM say? The director said it was not rape: http://www.ibtimes.com/game-thrones-season-4-spoilers-breaker-chains-rape-scene-raises-controversy-1574209 After I read that article I made my mind up. If the director says it's not rape I think it's very irresponsible for people to keep saying it is. It's fine to say the director did a terrible job. People are just getting really heated over this scene when they think it wasn't consensual. And the purists are up in arms because now "Jamie's arc was ruined" when really it was just a directorial blunder not D&D destroying dogma.
  4. What do you mean by memorable? There was no action? The plot didn't really change? Because I agree that neither of those two things occurred in this episode, but since the writing was fantastic, acting solid as usual, and the scenes seamlessly went from one to the other I really enjoyed it.
  5. Yes, HBO. I agree about it's being pretty bad. I'd like to play devil's advocate for second, but I hope I don't come off as insensitive. If there was no consent at all would Cersei really be ok being alone with him in the next episode? We left the scene in the middle of the act. Who knows how it ended.
  6. What are you talking about? They say in so many words that he raped her if you watched their inside the episode interview.
  7. Touche. I've lost count how many times I've seen the phrase "character assassination" or I fault this episode because one scene was "different from the books." I wish people wouldn't be so sensitive and realize the show is completely separate from the books. True it really isn't that shocking, but it's disappointing because the quality of this episode was fantastic. I guess I'm just not so picky that I will fault an entire episode if I don't enjoy one scene. The funny thing is I've seen amazing reviews from non-book viewers. I heard one person say it was his favorite episode ever because he loved the dialogue so much. A little extreme, I know, but I can certainly understand his opinion more than someone who gives the episode a 5 because one scene caused them to blow a gasket. The fact is last night's episode was probably better than anything else we'll see on TV until the next GOT episode airs.
  8. Agreed. The low rating is shocking. This episode was a thousand times better than the episodes from season 3 and 2 that had about the same rating.
  9. I agree with you that Emila Clark is a decent actress, however, please don't compare her to Lena Headey. Lena is an amazing actress. EC could never humanize Cersei the way Lena has.
  10. I thought it was awesome. Enjoyed it more than episode 2 actually. I feel like they've finally figured out how to accurately pace each episode. If the rest of the episodes are like the first three this season will turn out to be the best by far.
  11. I think they were assuming it was a poison other than the strangler and therefore Joff drank the poison before the joust, but the side effects didn't occur until later. However, the more I look into it the more it seems that the strangler was used and Margery most likely gave it to him right after he cut the pie.
  12. Exactly! I'm not a Sansa hater. I just hope she eventually stops being a pawn, and it would be very poetic if she was the one who ended up killing LIttefinger.
  13. Oh I definitely prefer manipulative whore over cry baby whore, but I'd rather her intentions be unworthy instead of chivalrous.
  14. I still think this is a bit of a stretch, because Margeary had to know exactly what was going to happen so as to not put her own life at risk. Honestly, I think that promo for the next episode is a little misleading. I bet the QOT and Margeary will just talk about Joffrey's death in general terms in order to keep the mystery alive until Littlefinger talks to Sansa.
  15. Oh I agree, I think overall D&D have done a great job adapting the story to film. I rarely get up in arms about the changes they make. I think the only time I've been extremely disappointed by them was when they butchered the House of the Undying in the S2 finale. For me it wasn't about not including the prophecies, but the fact that they had so much startling imagery to work with that would have looked beautiful onscreen and none of it was used. Back to the point, I have faith in D&D, but sometimes the worrywarts on here can be contagious! Honestly, if they let the audience in on why she betrayed Tyrion I think it will be more likely that she did it out of spite or because she was forced to. The latter would make the murder more controversial.
  16. Ya, I think that's where they're taking it too, like it isn't really her fault for testifying against Tyrion and sleeping with Tywin. If that's the case then Tyrion's act will be a little bit darker than it was in the books.
  17. I was going back and fourth on whether they were going to follow the books with Shae's death. Based on an interview Peter Dinklage gave along with what happened in the first episode I for sure thought they would be faithful to the books. However, after the breakup scene in last week's episode I didn't know what to think. But after watching this trailer I believe they will be absolutely faithful to that scene. Fast forward the vengance trailer to 1:06 and pay close attention. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARYEK31yaKI It seems like this year we're going to get two finales. Episode 9 will involve the huge battle at the wall, and episode 10 will have Tyrion's escape, betrayal, vengance and most likely Littlefinger's reveal. After watching these last two episodes I'm still inclined to think this season will be better than season 1.
  18. It's never confirmed in the books though is it? When I read it I didn't really consider if she knew or not because I wasn't reanalyzing what I had just read for enjoyment (until I found Westeros), but I believe we just have confirmations about QOT and Littlefinger.
  19. The more I think it about it the more it seems Margery had to at least know. Would Olenna really risk her beloved granddaughter drinking/eating from the same tainted object?? I think not. However, if Margery acts completely surprised tomorrow I'm going to be very confused.
  20. Very interesting. Well if Marg is the one then I'm thinking we'll find out when she talks with her grandmother next episode. Or maybe they'll just talk about it in general terms and make us crazy.
