  1. TPATQ claims they were two separate defeats, which contradicts TWOIAF, hence why I said I wasn't sure of it.
  2. Awesome! Did you see my suggestions for the Dance by any chance?
  3. The page for the Fifth Blackfyre Rebellion needs to be updated. According to TWOIAF the Iron Islands provided a hundred longships, the Westerlands a thousand knights and ten thousand men-at-arms.
  4. In TWOIAF it says that the Greens captured Rosby and Stokeworth before taking Duskendale, which might be worth its own entry. Also, TPATQ implies that the Battle of the Burning Mill and the Taking of Stone Hedge were two separate defeats but I could be wrong.
  5. You mean Viserys II. Viserys I didn't do jack shit. Also, if the extended Westerlands writeup GRRM posted a while back is any indication, little of the cut material deals with trade, law, diplomacy, etc. Personally, I'm more interested in the 5K words cut from the Dothraki and Yi Ti sections of TWOIAF.
  6. I put that in the errata thread for F & B V1.
  7. Regarding the battles of the Faith Militant Uprising: The Burning of the Sept of Remembrance hasn't been updated to show that 700 Warrior's Sons died. There were six royalist hosts at the Battle of Stonebridge. The Battle at the Great Fork needs to be updated to show that the result was a victory for Maegor. Also, those 6800 men from the Westerlands and Riverlands were not all knights so that needs to be changed as well. (And just where exactly is the Great Fork anyway? The Riverlands or the Crownlands?) Shouldn't there be a page for that ambush at the Wendwater where Ser Horys Hill and his three hundred Poor Fellows died?
  8. This is kind of a random question but does anyone know what program or software the wiki uses for family trees?
  9. @Ran Is Ser Maladon Moore actually a knight of Maegor's kingsguard? The wording in TSOTD is ambiguous to say the least.
  10. Thanks for the link and advice RBPL. Hope you continue to enjoy success with your writing.
  11. RBPL Love the cover of your book and hope it sells well. Like the premise as well. Btw, does anyone have any general advice on how to get short stories published they could offer me?
  12. The dragons won't amount to much against the Others when you remember that Dany's are really young (AKA nowhere near the DoD or the Conquest) and the Others have magic as well as the weather on their side, which means my question of how Westeros will even have a chance against the Others once there's only one claimant left is still valid.
  13. This chapter is f**** up and creepy but I wouldn't have it any other way. I just knew Damphair's chapters were going to take a level in awesome in TWOW. Anyway, I really hope he lasts more than just two chapters like people are suggesting. Also, I'm really starting to wonder how the hell Westeros is going to survive the Others and the second Long Night. I mean seriously with all the destruction caused by the WOT5K and now on top of that all the destruction that will be caused by Stannis vs. Boltons in the North and Aegon (+ the Faith) vs. Dany vs. Lannisters vs. Greyjoys in the south how in the world is whoever's left going to be able to stop the Others realistically speaking? Especially if Dany leaves behind in Essos a trail of sacked Free Cities and with the Riverlands still in anarchy?
  14. Didn't know the Mercy chapter was from before the 5-year gap was scrapped. As for House Whitehead I'm suspicious. Stormlanders seem as mercurial in their loyalty as their land is in its weather. As for what effect the first-ever Fall of Storm's End is going to have....Dramatic of course!!!!
  15. I wonder how the fact that the Tyrell army is marching ties into the Mercy chapter and the whole "the queen will have our heads" chronologically. From what it seems to me at least Arianne II seems to take place after Kevan and Pycelle's murder as well as both queens' trials and possibly concurrent with the Mercy chapter.
  16. The thing is Lysono dresses like a woman, has a personality befitting his occupation, and doesn't look anything like Aegon apart from the hair and eyes plus when you consider that Aegon is everything Arianna likes (headstrong, bold, handsome), is a teenager, and she herself an older exotic (in Aegon's eyes) woman experienced in the art of seduction... As for Elia I can see her causing trouble and, being a teenager herself, making advances on Aegon, but she is still no competition for Arianna. Plus, there is no way JonCon is going to let his prince fall for a bastard cousin who brings nothing to the table. No way in the seven hells. As for Dany, she's already thinking negatively of her and if Arianna receives a negative telling of Quentyn's death first well one the damage has already been done and two there are no second first impressions.
  17. YEAH!!!!!!! New chapter!!!!!!! Lets see. What do we get in this? My Observations: 1. A beautiful description of the Stormlands, with an in-depth description of Storm's End's defenses. (In fact I think this the most we've had yet and it is good. Glad to see that GRRM's prose is sharp as ever plus he seems to have found a way to give details while also moving the plot forward more like in the first three books). 2. New places. Holf of Men (maybe a typo?). Maiden Isle (Related to the Faith somehow considering the motherhouse (also the first time that word appears in the books I believe).) Mistfall (new castle!). 3. New family. House Whitehead of Weeping Town! 4. New world-building detail. (The corpse of Daeron I spent three nights in the Weeping Town before it moved on). 5. Storm's End has fallen, which means that Stannis has lost his last toehold in the south. Considering that its heavily foreshadowed he will soon have the North in his pocket were it not for the Others he'd be in a very powerful position nonetheless. 6. Arianna is so going to fall for Aegon and not like Dany. I really wonder what her and the rest of the Martell family's reaction to his death is going to be like. She's spent years thinking of him as her enemy, plotting to steal her place in Dorne, and now, without having had the chance to see him for the first time in a long time, he's gone. 7. In addition to the Battle of Meeren, the Battle of Winterfell, and possibly the Battle of Oldtown, we're getting the Second Battle of the Kingsroad (that's what I'm calling it). I wonder if it will be told entirely from JonCon's POV (will he be watching from afar? In the thick of the fighting?) or if it will switch between his and Arianna (maybe her watching from the battlements of Storm's End?) 8. I personally think Mace is the one leading the Tyrell army. It fits his character, it would tie back into that Cersei chapter-ending line in AFFC where Jaime tells her to send Mace off to Storm's End where either way he'll fail or succeed to their benefit, he's the one named as leading them, and it would make the Golden Company's victory (which is a narrative necessity, seriously there is no way GRRM would have them be defeated at this point in the storyline) more plausible. For an in-depth hypothesis of how the battle is going to shape look up Blood of the Dragon: Agincourt at Wars & Politics of Ice and Fire. Its really good. 9. COF Caves...I want more. 10. The Martells...Actually acting like a family!!!!!!!! God, when I was reading this chapter I couldn't help thinking in the back of my head of the abomination that GOT has turned them into. 11. Oddly enough I really want that Aeron chapter GRRM offered to read sometime ago now.
