  1. Chataya de Fleury -- another interesting glimpse into the corporate world, thank you for sharing! Your description reflects my former profession. Often, I'd be compelled to work on a trading floor-equivalent, known as a TOC or TAC. Likewise, it's challenging to do focused work in a place that often approximated a schoolyard. More, working elsewhere would have been a social and professional liability. I understand
  2. Secretary of Eumenes -- what do you mean? What exactly are you suggesting Chataya de Fleury should do to her colleagues?
  3. The CNN Fear & Greed Index now reflects extreme greed. A year ago, it was approaching extreme fear. Data points seem positive, and the position of Bank of America / Merrill Lynch is a likelihood of a mild and short recession. Yet, the market's reaction doesn't feel appropriate (e.g., missed earnings). It should be signaling anxiety. And there should be a reasonably predictable action / reaction / counter-reaction cycle, but consequences in this game seem to be hit or miss. On the other hand, I know it's not all luck. Given that (at most) 3% of professional traders are successful, year after year, maybe it's 97% luck, hahaha. Since I'm not part of the professional 3%, I suppose the most reasonable approach is to posture for success regardless of market direction.
  4. RESOLVED -- unanimous verdict; Elon wins lawsuit. "The lead plaintiff in the shareholder lawsuit, Glen Littleton testified last month that he lost more than 75% of his investments following Musk’s “funding secured” tweet."
  5. Fragile Bird -- just looked and found them, thanks! I'm curious how it'll compare with Andrew Tate's family relationships. Incidentally, my Asian mother is a neighbor and friend of another Asian mother who is a friend of Tiger's Asian mother, hahaha. They're all from the same era, share the same background, and married American GIs.
  6. Towards the end of my career, we were offered follow-on training. For fun and exposure, I enrolled into the (machine) industrial side and was impressed by the instructors and students. They weren’t the ex-cons and heavily tattooed civilians I expected to be interacting with, hahaha. Students (surprisingly young, early 20s, and several teenagers) would graduate and move into some relatively good positions. Notably, one girl in her twenties went to Embry-Riddle starting at over 50K USD, while the others (overwhelmingly men) also started in great local and regional jobs, averaging 36K. On the other hand, the instructions with decades of line experience looked beat down and prematurely aged; good men, though
  7. Zorral -- I think Elon did say both the far left and right would be pissed off
  8. The evil stepmom has a higher rating than Harry, hahahaha! And the only one rated lower than Meghan is a sexual deviant!!!
  9. Mastodon went from .5 to 2.5 million active users in response to Elon’s actions. Since its peak in early December, the number of active users has dropped significantly, and continues to trend slowly downwards. It’s complexity is one reason why so many are abandoning it, but another is that it fails (more so, in my opinion) to satisfy people’s need for drama and conflict. “The number of active users on the Mastodon social network has dropped more than 30% since the peak and is continuing a slow decline …”
  10. Apparently, Twitter is the #1 top free (Apple) app for news. Don’t know how rankings are determined (e.g., recent downloads or all-time or something else). Otherwise it’s ranked #12, overall. Open Apple’s App Store Scroll down to Top Free Apps Select, See All Select, All Apps Scroll down; select News
  11. TOTAL [100%]. Higher, +0.2% to +5%. Prematurely returning above water on all but my most favorite holding. I don't get it, but I suppose the recent positive indicators are strong enough to support this (e.g., employment, amazing; inflation, improving; hike, reasonable). I hedged my bets (if that's the right term) several months ago by moving out of cash, but I'm still waiting (i.e., hoping) for at least a bumpy landing that would see my holdings drop to -15% or worse. Well done, Uncle Joe; well done. Where do I send the 10% *** T [29%]. Higher, +2% to +3%. MMM [19%]. Higher, -1% to +1%. KHC [18%]. Higher, +11% to +18%. AMZN [13%]. Higher, -7% to 0%. DOW [8%]. Higher, +2% to +18%. WBD [2%]. Higher, -43% to -30%. CS [1%]. Higher, -4% to +10%. CASH [10%]. No change.
  12. Me, when my favorite stock climbs from -54% to -30%
  13. BBB Jacelyn -- George? Good man; I like him. He shows promise.
  14. There’s an option to write is Australian, too: uǝʞoɹq sı ɹǝʇʇıʍʇ ʎɯ ʞuıɥʇ ı
  15. Elon is working on message fonts (in bold and italics), which is pretty cool. And if you rely on a voice reader, it’ll read the text using a generic, aggressive American accent when the text is BOLD; and sexy Italian when reading ITALICS.
  16. “Americans are getting stronger. Twenty years ago, it took two people to carry ten dollars’ worth of groceries. Today, a five-year old can do it.” -- Henny Youngman
  17. Sunshine. Too much sunshine! Worse, low 70s right now.
  18. @A Horse Named Stranger -- [pulled from the other thread]. It’s an interesting story, thanks! Exaggerated or not, the story gives additional insight on how Andrew was socialized, and why he turned out so ambitious. Notable is that he seems to have outsized influence. More, that such a niche personality captured so much attention, globally. I’ll be following this to it’s conclusion!
