  1. Yeah, Kate Siegel is always stunning. Even when she’s playing someone terrible.
  2. The only reason I’m aware of it is because Steven Schirripa constantly brought it up on the Talking Sopranos podcast. Guess he’s a regular on it. As for the new season of Fargo, like I mentioned in the watching thread, I was pretty into the first couple episodes. Hopefully this one is a return to form (like 1 & 2) after a couple middling seasons.
  3. I’m digging the new season of Fargo so far. I guess I haven’t seen Juno Temple in anything in quite a while (probably Vinyl?), because I barely recognized her.
  4. Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. It’s definitely a formulaic slasher, but it’s done pretty well. It has some really creative kills. It’s crazy that this is now the 3rd movie to be made out of the fake Grindhouse trailers.
  5. Stuckmann liked it. Might try and see it this week since we’re off for the holiday.
  6. It was between him and Russ, and Russ actually looks like he might not be washed after all.
  7. I enjoyed Fincher’s The Killer. Not sure how memorable it will be long term, but it was pretty good overall. It has one of the better fight scenes I’ve seen in a while. Have to say though, I would gladly trade both this and Mank for another season of Mindhunter.
  8. For as sure handed as he is he seems to always have a brutal drop at the most terrible time. Had a huge one in the Super Bowl, too.
  9. Really shouldn’t even have been that close either if not for a bunch of penalties and a couple dropped TD’s.
  10. Started watching the AMC series The Terror. Never seen it before, and haven’t really heard anything about it, but it has Ciarán Hinds and Jared Harris. The first episode was intriguing.
  11. For years I wasn’t aware of either this story, or the Tulsa race massacre. Good on Marty (and HBO’s Watchmen) for getting them both out there for a large audience. Crazy that they both happened around the same time, in the same state.
  12. I still like the Scream movies. I thought NY made for a fun setting in the latest one.
  13. When Evil Lurks. Demonic possession movie from Argentina. This is one of the more disturbing and brutal horror movies I’ve seen in a while. Definitely not for the faint of heart. My jaw dropped at least a few times watching it.
  14. Purdy was never going to stay on that pace.
  15. Man it feels good to watch a healthy Joe Burrow again.
  16. Pretty sure Mexal isn’t from Ohio. Anyway, I actually quite like it here. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky is kind of it own thing though. We don’t really associate ourselves with Cleveland, Columbus, etc.
  17. Final line, but not the final scene. What he did use was one of the most powerful closing shots I’ve seen in a film in years. And it was a perfect bookend to the opening scene.
  18. I didn’t think it felt too long at all. Thelma Schoonmaker is a master of her craft.
  19. Speaking of uniforms these Kelly green Eagles are fire.
  20. Killers of the Flower Moon is another Scorsese masterpiece. And every bit as devastating as you’d expect. The entire cast was fantastic, but Lily Gladstone in particular should clean up during award season. One smaller role I thought stood out was Tatanka Means as one of the FBI agents. I had to look him up and it turns out he’s the son of Russell Means (Chingachgook in Last of the Mohicans). I thought he had a real presence.
  21. He was one of the best one-off characters the show ever had.
