Videogames 2023 pt. II: Can We patreon This Man an Alienware Already?
Darryk replied to Jace, Extat's topic in Entertainment
Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 are in my top 5 games of all time, Pure magic, those games. The open world of Baldurs Gate 1 gave me such a sense of adventure of the time. I wish I could still feel things like that. Baldurs Gate 2, as far as I know, was the first to have multiple romance options. I still tear up when I hear the Aerie theme music. I love how Aerie and Jaheira start fighting over you. And yes, the bard sucks but I still managed to finish as a bard on my third playthrough. Blademaster or whatever the subclass was called. -

LOL, I'd happily be caught in HER web. -
This show is one of the best I've ever seen at gradually building tension. The party in the last episode felt like a powder keg.

"Get me out of this HELL HOLE!" is one of my favourite gaming quotes ever. I always think of it when I'm bored at work. -

The game does a good job of getting you to care about characters that you haven't even met yet. -

I loved Prey but I found it quite difficult. Couldn't get far in it using human powers, had to go with the Alien skill tree. -

My brother works for Blizzard and he's not happy the Microsoft deal got blocked by Britain. He says the Blizzard management are useless and was really hoping Microsoft would come in and fix things. -
It's hilarious that even some random Italian player with no connection to the club understands our pain.

Bloody Moura.

If it weren't for the first half of the season under Tuchel Chelsea might have been in a relegation scrap.
-
Well I guess that qualifies as a low point.

Didn't like the episode, didn't like the season. I admit the idea of Mando going back to his bounty hunter roots does have appeal though. I can imagine him sitting outside his cabin fishing between bounty hunting missions.

I rewatched Sunshine, what a great film. A real hidden gem. I wonder why it flew under the radar when it came out. Maybe the name put people off; makes it sound like a kid's film rather than a thriller.

Yes unfortunately there is a bit of a culture war aspect in that people are putting its success down to lack of wokeness. I think people are fine with the role Peach played and are happy Mario is the true hero of the film. Apparently the original draft had Mario as a bumbling idiot with Peach saving the day, but Nintendo came in and said you're not gonna screw over our character like that. Personally I'm just happy to see Nintendo stick it in the eye of Disney, and I'm hoping they follow this up with a great Legend of Zelda film. -
So it's between Chelsea and Tottenham as to who's gonna be the first team to sack a caretaker manager.
-
They turned Baby Yoda into Krang. This Thrawn stuff isn't doing anything for me; it's going to be Disney's Thrawn, not Timothy Zahn's Thrawn.
-
Unbelievable episode. Unlike anything I've seen on TV before. It all just felt so real.

Star Wars: Go home (M)Ando(r), the Zillo Beast Is Back (Again!)
Darryk replied to Lord Varys's topic in Entertainment
I liked ROTJ. Didn't like the prequels but in hindsight, at least they had a vision and a coherent story. Basically the sequels have made me like the prequels more. But the main thing is all the rich EU material we had before Disney took over and dumped it all. Like for example, I don't want Disney anywhere near an era of Star Wars that has been explored by such great SW media as Knights of the Old Republic. -

I really wish they'd do a remastered version of Far Cry 2. None of the ones that followed really captured the same magic fror me. -

You think Disney can do those without insulting the Star Wars legacy? -

I'm done with Disney Star Wars. It's dead to me. TLJ killed it; Boba Fett, Obi-Wan and Mando season 3 mutilated the corpse. And their new film announcements are the last straw. I don't want to see Disney explore the origins of the Jedi. The origins of the Jedi should be left to the imagination, so I wouldn't be happy with anyone doing it, but frigging Disney? Haha, no thanks. I'll watch Andor season 2 and that's it. Not interested in the rest unless people I trust tell me they're good (and I mean like, REALLY good. If it's 7 out of 10 or less then I'm skipping it). -
I watched John Wick 4. I thought it was a bit tedious most of the time to be honest, but the ending saved it.

Chelsea appointing Lampard is hilarious. Their owners are clueless.
