  1. Ok, enough with the people who don't get the beetle story are stupid line. I think most people do understand the point of it and it's not like it's so hard to understand. The point is, it was terribly long and dragged on when the whole point could have been made in a minute or less.
  2. Sansa states that Lysa did what her father commanded her and then she says as many of us have. What does that imply? Poor Ned never commanded her to do anything. Did anyone catch that line. Did she say that for effect?
  3. I wouldn't mind the Missandei/Greyworm scene if it wasn't at the expense of other characters/storylines from the books. They have so little time and so much ground to cover and they add on these immaterial IMHO subplots. Why not flush out Jon's/Stannis' characters. As for the beetle story, I get it, but it still didn't have to be 5 mins long.
  4. Honestly, did we need to hear 3 mins of that beetle story. And why the Missandei/Greyworm subplot? Is there a purpose to that?
  5. Great touch playing the Winterfell music when showing Sansa in the snow.
  6. Pedro Pascal is perfect. I luv his accent.
  7. Yes, the first season so far has been the best. The way D&D went on and on about how excited they were to do this season, I was expecting much more. But for me this season didn't come close to matching the first. It seems to me the more money they get from HBO the more concerned and invested they get about having bigger sets and more effects to the detriment of character building and good scripts.
  8. The episode got off to a good start and then fizzled. And the ending, what a laugh. Instead of Dany crowd surfing they could have had the unsullied call her Mysha and then cut to Nymeria pulling Cat's corpse out of the river. They didn't even have to show Beric bringing Cat back to life. Just the shot of Nymeria and Cat's lifeless body. Instead we get rock star Dany. The cheesiest possible ending.
  9. Somehow reading your posts on the show, I have a feeling that in the episodes that Dany isn't the focus or doesn't have one of her 'I am the blood of the dragon' moments, you dislike the episode and the show's adaptation. I saw you gave Ep. 304 'And now his watch is ended' a 9. Although, in my opinion, apart from the climatic Dany scene, it wasn't that spectacular. And you keep saying how much you hate the Pod/whores reference and if I'm not mistaken that episode had some of it. I'm not a huge fan of the show either but I judge each episode by its merit. I could be completely wrong in my assumption but knowing that you are a big Dany fan it almost seems that any episode that Dany isn't made to look really good, you pounce on it.
  10. I know what you mean. But it's very hard to translate books onto screen, especially if they are a much loved series with charcters and scenes that people love and begin to identify with such as ASOIAF. Most people might not agree but Peter Jackson's LOTR movies weren't better than Tolkien's written words. The only adaptation that I can think of that was better on screen than in the books was the Godfather Parts I and II and that's becoz the books weren't that great and since Coppola is such a good filmaker. But overall this episode worked in terms of the acting, pacing, direction. And there was a sense of foreboding by just looking at Michelle Fairley's face.
  11. The best of the season. Michelle Fairley was superb.
  12. Michelle Fairley was really good. So the killing of Talisa puts to rest the Jeyne Westerling pregnancy rumors I suppose.
  13. This episode was good but not great. The Theon scene didn't work at all for me. I've had enough of the Theon torture. And GRRM has brought more character development into Jon's scenes than any other episode this season.
  14. So is Patchface going to be in the show? And Maisie Williams is a treat to watch.
  15. Yes, this has been the best episode this season to date. Episode 4 was definitely elevated by the last Dany scene. In this episode all the scenes had a nice flow and continuity to it. Although I wasn't too impressed with Nikolaj's performance in the bath.
  16. I do apologize for not using the quote button but I was using the abridged version of the site on my phone and the quote option wasn't available to me. Your statements -- “Whoever voted 5/10 should stop watching now. It won't get much better that this. Amazing.” “Blackwater had a small ammount of haters as well, and it was a masterpiece of television.” -- sounds terribly condescending, that's my opinion :). And FYI, I did enjoy the Blackwater episode.
  17. Jon Stargaryen: Yes, I do have a right to my opinion which I just voiced. You on the other hand are voicing your opinion and also belittling others who disagree with you.
  18. Jon Stargaryen: I wasn't too impressed with this episode but I've definitely enjoyed other episodes in the series. So to respond to your comment, I will continue watching the series expecting it to get better. The Dany scene was done well but the rest of the episode wasn't, in my opinion. The NW's scene was disappointing and the Pod joke is distracting.
  19. Yes I agree. What little we've seen of Mance so far in the show is very different from book Mance. But that statement by him on the show just seemed to me like the creators are setting up Jon Snow's arc.
