  1. I feel like Dany’s arc has been consistent. She has made plenty of bad decisions, became increasingly full of herself, and is really nothing without her dragons. Some of the other characters, not so much. I feel so disappointed in this series, it’s almost as bad as Lost.
  2. He isn’t. And what is the whole point of Jon’s secret parentage if he doesn’t sit the throne? I can’t imagine he does, though. He has the better claim and let Dany guilt him into not revealing it. Pathetic.
  3. Have been disappointed in Jon ever since he bent the knee.
  4. Would have been so much more poignant for Jaime to kill Cersei.
  5. Agreed. What is the big build up about him being a secret Targ for, as well as bringing him back from the dead about if he doesn’t become king? It makes no sense. It’s would be bad storytelling, IMO, but then maybe that is what this all is.
  6. Truth. I feel sad that this feels like a LOTR knockoff now. Last week was feeling all Helms Deep and now Eowyn killed the Witch King of Angmar.
  7. Meh. I remember when this was called The Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
  8. I think Dany will die after giving birth to Jon's child. According to Mirri Maz Durr, that is when she will see Khal Drogo again, so I have always interpreted that as her dying in childbirth. It is possible, of course, that Jon will die as well, but I think Dany for sure dies before the end.
  9. Did D&D just confirm Benjen is Coldhands? Can we put to rest the Tyrion is a secret Targ and will ride a dragon theory now that Viserion is undead?
  10. After last night's episode, I am more and more convinced Bran is somehow the Night's King. Maybe he goes back in time to stop his own advance over and over again and somehow still screws it up each time. I hate time travel and trying to work out all the inconsistencies in my head, but Bran and the Night King seem very interconnected. It would explain why he is so emo lately, and why the Night King can see him...even when he is viewing through his ravens.
  11. It's great to have the story moving forward again. So Hodor's name is Willas, and he once could talk. Good to see Euron make his appearance. Ramsay killing Roose, Walda, and the baby was obvious from the last episode but ugh, I turned off the TV a bit for Walda and the baby's death. Did not want to see that. So does Tyrion's dragon whispering lend more credence to the theory that he is a Targ too? God, I hope not. I hate that theory, but he didn't get Quentyned, so hmmm. Please let it not be so. Yay no bad poosay this week. Glad Jon is back and they didn't drag that out any longer. Can't wait to see what comes next. Yay Tower of Joy next week!
  12. So is the whole Dorne storyline a wash? Won't Jaimie kill Trystane now? Did the Sand Snakes not care about that? Sheesh, they made Dorne ridiculous.
  13. Did they ever say in the show that Aegon had Targ coloring? I can't remember. Obviously, he did in the books, but on the show they could say he inherited Elia's coloring, like Rhaenys. Or they are coloring it, like Faegon's blue hair, but that would mean that Trystane already knows who he supposedly is. I am obviously just speculating and don't know how it would ultimately play out but it is suspicious that both Aegon and Arianne are cut, but not Trystane, when it seems the storylines of the former two serve a purpose in the plot, while Trystane exists as a reason for Myrcella to be in Dorne. They have to create a reason for Dorne to be on the opposite side of Dany, don't they? Where is the Dance of the Dragons without Faegon?
  14. Yes, you have a good point there. Who knows, but given all the changes they have been making, I still think it's a possibility.
  15. Yes, I agree. So in show universe wouldn't it make sense that they are merging both Trystane/Aegon and Myrcella/Arianne? Just as they are merging Sansa/Jeyne Poole?
  16. It's fiction, not history. It's also D&D we're talking here. I think it's a perfectly plausible way for them to include the Aegon storyline, and I don't understand why they would flesh out Trystane, of all the Martell children, so much if not to reveal him as Aegon. In the show, Varys would have convinced him it was really Aegon and Doran would have been keeping him safe all these years waiting for the right moment to reveal him. Doran is a long game player. Trystane, on finding out his "true" identity, marries Myrcella and decides to head to King's Landing to challenge Tommen's kingship in order to make Myrcella Queen. Cersei is pretty clearly foreshadowed to burn Kings Landing down. Would be an interesting full circle to see Jaime come along with Myrcella to Kings Landing and kill Cersei as she is burning down the city. She sees both her children killed somewhere in all of this and then is killed by her valonqar. It would make sense in show universe.
  17. I don't know. D&D are really diverging from the books. If Trystane is not Aegon why cast him at all? Certainly not to be Quentyn, a storyline that seems more filler than Aegon's. EP 09 is titled the Dance of the Dragons. What Dragons are Dancing if not a dragon opposed to Daenerys? I think it is possible D&D will reveal Trystane to be Aegon. He can still be Faegon, still delivered by Varys, just to Doran instead of Jon Con. Still can be Doran's goal to marry someone to Daenerys, except now it's Faegon. Doran tells him he cannot marry Myrcella because He is Aegon and he made arrangements to marry him to Daenerys and he marries Myrcella instead, and heads off to Westeros. Or he doesn't marry Myrcella and heads to Mereen. Who knows. I think it could be a possibility.
  18. Pondering what the Forbes article posted earlier suggested...that Trystane = Aegon and the reveal will be that Dorne has been hiding him all along. Could this work on the show? If so, did Doran hide that information from Oberyn or did he know? Something has to save the Dorne storyline.
  19. Pedro Pascal is fantastic as Oberyn. I wish the writers didn't have to clobber us over the head all the time that Oberyn likes his sexy time. We get it. Still, Pascal is so good in this role that I am really sad that his journey on the show is near an end. Loved it when he remained sitting while everyone else stood when Tywin entered the Small Council. Alfie Allen is killing it as Reek. His performance is amazing and makes me forgive the filler Yara scene just because it so clearly illustrated how beaten down he has become. The terror in his eyes when Yara tries to free him was an outstanding performance. Loved the trial. Loved Hizdahr (more interesting than book Hizdahr). Love that they are showing Dany's difficulties when it comes to ruling.
  20. Meh. Underwhelmed by this episode. The Vale scenes were the best part, with cray cray Lysa and Sweetrobin, mention of Brandon Stark, and Sansa's face at the end. I love Oberyn. I don't like the Bran deviation at all. I guess now show watchers can begin to share in the misery that is Dany lollygagging in Slavers Bay. Also a big WTF on Cersei being all chummy with Marge.
  21. Apparently HBO has confirmed that the character at the end is the Nights King. This makes me feel slightly better since the NK is not an Other. Still not happy with the look. Anyway, let's discuss this little revelation and it's implications.
  22. I liked most of the episode but really dislike the whole Bran at Craster's Keep thing. It just feels really wrong to me. Also was not a fan of pedo-Marge. That scene was creepy and gross. Littlefinger's got nothing on Marge. And please no Grey Worm/Missandei love connection. Just no. I did like the cleverness of Littlefinger saying his new friendship was growing strong. Good one, writers. Brienne looked amazing in her new armor and I love Pod. His facial expressions are hilarious. And wow...what a spoiler with the Others. I actually didn't care for that. I guess I don't like finding out something on the show that hasn't been revealed in the books. I guess I better get used to that. Also, I hate the appearance of the Others. Not how I imagined them at all. I thought they were supposed to be a bit more elegant and beautiful in their own fashion. That guy seemed like a reject from a low budget horror movie. Hard to imagine the Night's King falling in love with the female version of that. This episode lost me from Craster's on.
