  1. I normally would give it an 8, but I am so happy with what they did with Arya, and her being my favorite character, that I'm going to up it to a 9. And to the person that says this kill is supposed to be the kill at the Inn. No, you're wrong, this is the kill at Harrenhal that we never say. The Inn at the Crossroads will be Tolliver, who still has Needle and Arya needs to get it back still.
  2. Most of Dany's storyline in ASOS was a bit cheesy. But she's going to get headslammed by reality soon.
  3. I'm going to give the show some credit. Having Arya see Robb's desecrated body went a long way into adding the darkness into her that they weren't able to do in season 2. That and her kill of the Frey soldier was very much a close reenactment of book Arya's kill at Harrenhal. So I feel despite my complaints about Arya's storyling not being dark enough last year, they did a good job of catching TV Arya back with book Arya. Arya being my favorite character, I am very pleased with this.
  4. Hang it there with the show for a bit longer, the bad guys are going to get some comeuppance. And truly you can't enjoy those comeuppance as much if you didn't hate them as much as you do because of the crap they pull like tonight.
  5. 8 out of 10. It had it's moments but the atmosphere was not there.
  6. I think this was a great episode, the scenes and storylined actually had time to breathe, and the tension in the Sam the Slayer scene was great. Probably the best horror moment in the entire show.
  7. The writers also messed up Sansa's age. She's not 14, not in the show, she's got to be at least 16. Remember Sansa is 4 years older than Bran, Bran was 10 (in the show) when the story started, a it's been at least 2 years since season 1 started. Bran is 12 now and Arya is 14, Sansa should be 16.
  8. I like this episode a lot. For the first time in a while I felt the scenes had time to breath and didn't feel rushed.
  9. Yeah I've already made my opinion on RW several times on these boards but it looks like more people are starting to see it. The RW's devastation was so much more than just Robb and Cat getting killed, it was complete annihilation of the northern nobles that were Stark Loyalists. But at this point I don't see anyway the show can capture that given the North seems be made of Robb, Karstark and Bolton.
  10. The Gendry reveal doesn't really bother me because I always assumed that eventually Gendry will find out in the books. Brienne almost mistook Gendry for Renly in AFFC, so as Gendry grows up his resemblance to Robert will become even more apparent. Somebody will put 2 and 2 together and tell him what's up. Might even be Jaime since he's headed that way.
  11. Yup, I am 100% in agreement with you, this is the episode that pulled all the characters who either started off wrong or drifted away from their intended persona, back into their correct state of mind and motivation. This is the first scene all year I actually liked Robb. This is the first time all year I actually believed Jon/Ygritte are in love. This is the first time since Brienne was introduced that I bought her. Melisandre also got some much needed background to explain her motivation. That's why I gave this a 9. This episode had characterizations galore and they were done right.
  12. We are in agreement about Jon and Ygritte, by far the best characterization of the two characters and their relationship. Finally made me care about show Jon again. Brienne too, loved her scenes with Jaime prior to his departure, best Brienne/Jaime moment this season. The bear pit scene was actually a bit disappointing. I wasn't a big fan of the Dany scene, I thought Emilia Clarke's acting was a bit off in that scene. Still I'll give it a 9 because the parts I love I really loved.
  13. Yeah, because the show has written them wrong this entire time.
  14. Actually I don't feel the Jon scenes were long at all. Jon has been short changed ALL SEASON LONG. He has more chapters than anyone else in ASOS and we've barely seen him at all. This was a great character development episode for him and Ygritte.
  15. I wish GRRM could write more episodes. This is first time in 2 seasons that Jon Snow's character was written correctly, and the first time show Brienne was in synch with book Brienne. Great episode.
  16. Bran's chapters in ASOS are awesome, the problem is they haven't done a single scene from those chapters.
  17. You know what's the best part about Ros dying. I'll never have to again see another "Ros as fake Arya" post on these boards. The theory is beyond absurd and every time I saw another person back it I lost a little bit of confidence in humanity as a species. This will go a long ways to restore my faith in humanity. (Until I start seeing Talisa as fake Arya theories)
  18. Yeah, but they are still leaving themselves the opening of Cersei actually being the one who sent the orders, the same as with the killing of the bastards. In both scenes Cersei just remains silent and Tyrion reads it as her saying Joffrey did it. But in neither case does Cersei actually deny doing it. Also can we stop with the "French sleeves"? He said "Fringe sleeves".
  19. Uh, there are plenty of scenes that are in the books they cut. How about an Edric Dayne scene, how about a scene about the KOTLT, how about more scenes with Jon among the wildlings? They didn't show Theon's torture because they had nothing else to show, they chose it as more important than all the other scenes they cut.
  20. This is completely wrong. They can show the broken shell of a man Theon becomes and let the audience's imagination get to work. They don't need to show it. This cut to 5 minutes of Theon torture every episode is neither interesting or compelling.
  21. I have to agree I am finding the Theon scenes completely tiresome and uninteresting at this point. On my rewatches of season 3 I always FF through the Theon scenes. What Ramsay does to break Theon is more compelling and horrifying if completely left to the audiences imagination. Watching it happen in real time is a big turn off.
  22. I took that as Arya will be a brown eyed person, a blue eyed person, and a green eyed person. You know, a person with many faces.
  23. I'm glad they are finally making LF the villain that he's supposed to be. Up to this point LF in the show has been a little bit of a buffoon. But I always considered him the ultimate villain in the books and they are finally making him that.
