    GRRM on Successors

Same here. The Dunk & Egg stories would make for good viewing on screen IMO. Call it "A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms" like the name of the illustrated collection. 3 seasons, one for each novella. 6 episodes per season. Doesn't have the epic scope of Game of Thrones but I can still see it being popular. Has just the right balance of mystery, humour and pathos with some interesting characters. Plus it's only set 90 years before GoT so not too far in the distant past. Of course, there are other planned Dunk & Egg novellas from GRRM but it's questionable whether they will see the light of day. All the better if they are.
  2. I'm not the greatest Dany fan but I feel the fact she has gone the way of her father is not particularly challenging in a narrative context. It seems lazy. Dany goes mad like her father. It’s basically saying you can’t fight your DNA. Biology trumps human agency. Where is the subversion of tropes there?

[Poll] How would you rate episode 801?

I voted 7/10. Good but not remarkable. Enjoyed (most of) the reunions. The aesthetic and music, as always, is top notch. As others have said, some scenes felt rushed/underwhelming. Jon parentage reveal ok I suppose but could've been handled better. Some of the actors seemed like they couldn't be bothered, or is that unfair? Still I enjoyed the episode overall.
  4. 8/10 I was expecting an abortion of an episode based on the comments here and on WiC. However I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed most of it, except for the Theon torture-porn scene.

How would you rate episode 302?

I realise it's not their style but HBO should think about a double opening episode for season 4. Episodes 1 and 2 back to back would have felt more satisfying.

How would you rate episode 302?

8/10. Better than the first episode.
