  1. Poor Emilia. The GoT-cast doesn't seem to catch a break. Kit in Pompei, Emilia in Terminator and Richard in Cinderella what dreadful movies are they forced to play in. Alfie has had the best role so far, as one of the antagonists in John Wick (awesome movie).

Kit is gonna be in new Xavier Dolan movie with Jessica Chastain so at least he'll catch a break. Emilia looks beyond terrible in this and that trailer is just embarrassing.

  2. The Tunnel was good. Showed me that Dillane could play a Sam Vimes.

He was adorable in this series :) I really liked Clemence Poesy's acting, they had such lovely chemistry together and both characters were flawed and relatable in a very realistic way.

  3. I've started watching Hunted because of Stephen Dillane (<3333) and Ellaria is in this too, they even share scenes :)

I know both him and Dance are in Secret State and previous Daario had a scene with him in The Tunnel :)

Gethin Anthony (Renly) is going to play Charles Manson in NBC's upcoming Aquarious, opposite David Duchovny

    From the AV Club:

"After all, Renly Baratheon was able to assemble an army of loyal followers based solely on his charisma—just like Charles Manson—and he was later killed by a magic shadow baby—also like Manson. "

  4. I'm not running around anywhere, just bored with seeing people bitch about 1 ratings when plenty of people give things 10. If 1 is irrational than so is 10. If it's clearly not the worst episode of TV ever, it's also clearly not the best. If someone though that was perfect, they're lying to themselves, delusional or have very low standards. I loved the episode, it wasn't a 10.

Again with the 'clearly'. So I'm delusional and irrational because I gave it 10? I'm not saying it is flawless but I did love the episode. People 'bitching' as you put it is one thing but you are just downright insulting suggesting if someone rates the episode 10 has 'low standards'.

  5. Please also enlighten us on your opinion of those who rate the show a 10 when it clearly was not absolutely flawless and perfect.

At the very least, if you enjoyed everything...but didn't feel the scenes were rushed due to trying to cram 10 pounds of shit into a 5 pound bag you're lying to yourself. The very highest rating this episode should have received is a 9. As good as it was, it was not flawless.

Why do people get worked up about seeing a 1, but not a 10? it's only peoples opinions.

Do you see a problem with your post? It's all subjective. But thinking your opinion Is the only one that is right/that matters is the problem here. I disliked ep.9 but I didn't spend time running around the boards asking people why they rate it 10 and telling them they are lying to themselves.

  6. Seriously, reading through these rating of the episodes threads is becoming a real chore.

Let's face it, statistically a great episode should be around 7-9 and an absolutely perfect one ala Blackwater should be 10. Equally even the worst episode should be around 3-4, with probably no episodes deserving a complete 1 because of the strength of the source material.

However, as always, what the hell is with all the 10/10 'yay this is super perfect in everyway!' crowd? If you call that finale a 10/10 your ability to discern good television from average or subpar television is seriously open to question.

You could say 'well, each to their own' and although you wouldn't be wrong, I just feel I have to say to those people who think this is perfect ... really?

How is that episode perfect and without a single flaw? Not a single one? Please enlighten me because I actually want to know?

What I saw instead was a T.V show that has completely forgotten the source material on which its based. Just to remphasise, all the writers have to do is take a solid existing story and translate it reasonably faithfully onto screen ... that's it.

Instead they feel they have to constantly change things that don't need changing. For example:

    1. How ... the .. fuck ... did the Hound and Arya just show up at the Vale and then just leave? Didn't LF hear about it? How about Sansa? How about anyone?

    2. Brienne vs The Hound ... yeah that's awesome, its also good to know that, all in, the episode spent more time on that whole sequence that the Mountain vs Red Viper. So an event that never should have taken place gets preferential treatment for one of the absolute key moments in the entire series.

    3. We get it, people like Tyrion, I personally never have liked him as a character (love his POV's though) but why can't he possibly ever have even the slightest shade of grey in the T.V show. Shae of course would have to straight up stab him, I mean thats completely in line with her character, and everything that has preceded with her developement since season two ... oh wait, no it wasn't.

    4. The writers haven't a fucking clue about Stannis, or how to work with his storyline.

    5. The writers of the T.V show consistently miss the cool little things in the books and exchange them for Podricks magic penis adventures, burbing wenches, the relationship between a eunach and a girl, stories about mentally handicapped people crushing beatles and all the other crap filler these writers invent off the tops of their heads. GRRM is a good solid writer, nobody is saying he is Shakespeare, but he is good at what he does, and is good with his characters. So why all the unecessary changing things?

So many characters on the T.V show are so far from their book counterparts in terms of developement, that without prior knowledge of the books, you are literally in another world.

But back to my point; differing opinions aside, how is that a 10/10 best end of the series ever? I genuinely want to know, how people can call that (at best) average episode perfect?

Oh and I haven't even mentioned that whole Bran travesty ... shudder.

I disliked last week's ep but liked this one. I LOVED Stannis moment - it played out differently than I imagined but it was amazing. The entire episode was very well paced, well acted and consistent. It was not without a flaw - CotF and BR were disappointing, LS omission was a mistake and lack of mentions about Tysha just puzzling but it had plenty of scenes that raised it above these flaws - Stannis, 2 funerals, chaining of dragons, Brienne....I gave it 9,7 placing it with Kissed by Fire but below Blackwater and Rains of Castamere.

  7. I think they could have cut the thing where Stannis does it. It would have been more powerful with Arya going under it, as she is the character that constantly talks about Braavos and going there and the Titan and all.

They could have had Stannis just be in the Iron Bank, would have had same effect.

I loooved Stannis going under it and another classic 'don't care' moment from him.

But then again I do not really care about Arya

  8. 7 for me, people will completely overreact and give it a 0, let's be honest it wasn't a bad episode at all was it? It was an average finale

Also I can already imagine the lady stoneheart complaints, can we try and rate what was in the episode not what wasn't.

Man I was pissed last week but even I gave ep.9 6/10

I'm giving this one 10. Even with what it didn't have it was extremely well executed ep and Stannis' arrival was mesmerizing and that was the scene I was imagining for so long.

  9. There were some really beautiful scene shots, especially Arya seeing the harbor from high atop the cliffs. Very visually appealing.

Oh yeah! Also the whole Brienne/Hound fight had amazing cinematography, the shot of Tyrion strangling Shae shot from the distance, aerial shots of Stannis' army....really gorgeous stuff

  10. I really really really liked that finale. It would have been a 100 if it had LS, there were some stupid changes but they still worked within the episode - the lack of Tysha. But what really sold me is how well paced and filmed everything was - there were so many iconic shots and the acting was superb throughout from everyone involved

  11. For those of you saying that placing a scene in the end or during the episode is the same thing, try putting the Lady Stoneheart scene during the half of next episode and see if it will have the same impact.
Both Stannis and the episode could have had a perfect and remarkeable ending, but they probably transfered the last scene to episode 10 only to decrease the glory of the moment. Episode 10 had enough cliffhangers by itself even without this episode 9.

Also, the episode could have enough time to finish this storyline, considering it was too short and they could just add some more minutes and finish it the way everyone expected.

    This.

  12. Sati, my intial reaction to the ending (not having Stannis ride in) was also wtf. But if you don't expect that and watch the episode, I think it's a really good episode. And like others have said my only gripe is that we would have felt more for the characters on the wall if D&D had fleshed them out better. But now I believe the only way they could have had Stannis in this Ep and not have it feel rushed is if they had built the attack on the Wall storyline over 2-3 eps.

They could have easily fit in some of the beginning of this ep in previous eps. Also the battle was underwhelming - was it shot well? Yes. Was it small and overhyped? Yes. Blackwater was far more epic - Wildfire > Fire, mammoth, giants. The music was better and the episode was so emotional and exciting. The ending was absolutely mesmerizing. Here the only emotions were from Sam, bunch of non important characters died and the ending was the worst Thrones ending ever.

  13. All the people saying this episode is bullshit, you deserve to watch a pathetic money grabber serie like the walking dead. Not even have the intelligence to appreciate hard work that the production have made for this epic battle.

Yes the epicness of mammoth and 2 giants was so hard to take.

Drunk Cersei in Blackwater > this bullshit
