  1. Is it just me or has there been a lot of unintentional comedy at Dragonstone this year? Between Stannis practically running from Shereen to Melisandre doing a 180 after Davos gives the NW letter, they've both been pretty damn silly this year. "You know what? Forget what I just said, Stannis. Screw this 5 King thing, baby. That's old hat. You need to get to the Wall and defend all of humanity. Gogogo!" Should have been more of a 'finally the prophecy is being fulfilled' type realization. Can't tell who makes me cringe more betwen Mel and Shae.
  2. People will tell you that there needs to be exactly one calendar year between Catelyn's death and her return(god knows why). She'd been dead for 60 minutes of screen time. That's like seemingly killing off a character in one movie, then having them come back halfway through the next film. No impact my arse.
  3. I really wonder if that wasn't the plan all along. Build up to the Red Wedding, wait for mass hysteria, ask HBO to double the budget over the summer. Look at how D&D have ended the season: a huge Ironborn battle brewing, possible encounters with White Walkers, the battle for the Wall has entirely been left out, direwolves kept to a minimum, Coldhands and his elk left out... I really think they're banking on a larger budget to play with next year.
  4. I don't understand the point of rubbing Walder Frey in our faces if they weren't going to show Lady Stoneheart. Arya stabbing a pissant and the Hound finishing the rest off was only slightly satisfying. And as if to completely offset the dark tone from where the last ep left off & tonight started, they did a completely over the top aerial view of Dany and her synchronized pets. As far as I'm concerned it only does the opposite: rubs sand in the wounds of people invested in Westeros.
  5. guessing they want Jon to have full mobility for all the asskickings he's going to give next episode.
  6. The massacre took up almost 10 minutes of screentime and most of the episode was building up to it. People who have never read the books are losing their minds all over the internet. It was plenty long and powerful. You already knew what was going to happen, that numbs the shock considerably. I just re-watched the ep and it's pretty gut-wrenching on the second viewing.
  7. Did you miss the part where Robb's pregnant wife was stabbed in the uterus 10 times and he touched her stomach just before she dies?
  8. I was really expecting Ramsay to sit down at their table and say "sorry I'm late".
  9. Been racking my brain to remember what that quote is from. Back on topic: did anyone else get a Charles Manson family vibe from the fetus stabs in rapid succession? Christ. That needed some music to go out on. So hardcore.
  10. Did they even state what the leeches meant? Besides, the actor playing Stannis delivered the lines so nonchalantly and slurred it's hard to make out what he actually said.
  11. Drunk Tyrion gets a 10. Daario gets a 10. Titan's Bastard. 10. The Dragonstone scenes, however, dragged this one down to a 7 for me.
  12. So he can find out how to kill the Others. 'Sam the Slayer' does nothing for his character development. Nothing.
