  1. You are right, she show misses a lot of the details (Sansa slaying the giant, the story why Oberyn and Elia were visiting the Rock etc...) but most of that is due to the fact that the show could never show all the details of the 5 books - the show has to tell the story in a much simplier way. Nevertheless the direction is the same, books (if ever finished!) and TV show will come to the same bittersweet ending - GRRM would never allow the show to have a different ending to his forseen ending! But I can only advise only-show-watchers to try to read the books eventually (take your time - GRRM does with the last 2 books :p ) if you really want to warg into those wonderful characters and slip into the world of Westeros/Essos!
  2. Yeah he will join the Hunger Games for District 12 in season 3 :p
  3. Gave it a 10, for me personally the best episode so far - even did beat the Nights King. I personally don t care if the Hizdahr story is altered, I think it will lead to the same point in Mereen, the battle of fire...I think the Harpies story is not soooo important - in any case they did not introduce the Green Grace so far, so I think they will leave it out, but it is not essential for the progress of the story. Once again I was impressed by the overall brilliant acting! Arya, the Hound, Littlefinger, Sansa, Bronn, Tyrion, the Red Viper...they all rocked! I was so touched by the sequence of heartbreaking scenes at the end: first the goodbye of Bronn and Tyrion, then the Red Viper and Tyrion (absolutely brilliant!) and then ...one of my favorite scenes from the books - Sansas Snowcastle and Lysas flight...I was close to tears after all those scenes! Well, now we know how the Hound received his mortal wound, he will die for his fear of fire at last cause he did not let Arya burn his wound. They became pretty close again those 2, the Hound even told her his story! The only big negative plot for me was the absence of the singer Marillion in the moondoor scene: I wonder what story Sansa and LF will tell to explain Lysas flight....well but it also ends speculations that Marillion is still alive somewhere and still has some role to play.... In any case: for me personally this episode was brilliant!
  4. gave it a 9,. just because of the brilliant handling of Tyrions trial: Peter Dinklage made it Shakespearean, and the interaction between the 3 Lannister men....ahhh the looks!
  5. solid stuff but nothing really breathtaking, gave it a 7 As could have been seen in every good crystal ball before, the Jon and Bran meeting did not take place (otherwise it would have been impossible for Bran to go further north and meet the 3eyed crow) Interesting: Tywins revelation to Cersei that the Lannister gold wells have run dry and that she has to look for other gold wells (marry Loras) and be careful with the Iron bank Scene I liked best: I like the couple Brienne and Pod...pretty funny!!
  6. I gave it a 10 because I think it was the very best episode so far Whoever done the scripting for this episode...fantastic work! 1. before all as a bookreader I was afraid of long, long, long Mereen plots but I have to admire how the crucification scene focussed Danys - lets say crucial - problems: she overall enjoys to be the "Mother/Mhysa" thing and to bath in the crowd of her "children", on the other side she is fanatic Fire and Blood, no mercy (even if it would have been alll but clever then), in this situation she does not care about who is innocent or not, and she has (and I am afraid she will not learn) that Fire and Blood will always spread the blood of innocents and of her "children" too!....how to show this in this rather short scene - also masterfully symbolized by the building and the big flag - made me shiver! 2. Jaime/Brienne: one of my favorite relationships also masterfully put into scene there....ohh the goodbye scene 3. LF/Sansa: how he touches her when she asks him what he wants like: oh...and before all I want you baby if I could not have my one and only Cat! 4. I like the Bronn/Jaime interaction.. funny every time...this time the hand thing...lolol I don t like much violence/blood/rape but I think it is absolutely ok where it belongs too....showing mediaval wars without those things would mean to show Westeros as a playmobile/lego world. Brutal mutineers murder and rape as a fact...and if you show them you have to show that too! The books and the TV series too they don t create violence, blood, raping for the fun of it...they just show a realistic mediaval Westeros/Essos world.
  7. Just loved it and gave it a 10! Best scene for me this time: Jaime and Brienne!
  8. I gave the episode an 8..but yes that is quite the word for the new Daario...good looking guy but not douchey enough, the old Daario was perfect! On the other hand I really liked the episode: already the beginning, the forging of the 2 swords from Ice, I liked the "cute" dragons  , the Brienne scenes with Jaime and Olenna, pitied poor Dontos, laughed about the statue/Joffrey scene. Best was the Arya/Polliver scene..what an actor Maisie is, when she is showing the pleasure she is taking in this revenge...mercy?..no mercy!
  9. I gave it a 10, for me it was one of my 3 favorite episodes. I was disappointed by the RW as compared to the genious RW in the book so ep 9 is not one of my 3 favorites. I very much enjoyed the Tywin scenes Tywin/Joffrey (so well acted by both) Tywin/Tyrion (I think another big hint that Tyrion is not his son) I liked the Hound/Arya scenes (so well acted as well...Valar Morghulis!!!...you could already see what will become of her.)...as to the Mhysa scene at the end...I did not like it as well..but well...those Mhysa scenes in the book I did not like them either...those endless..my children!!...monologues..aaahhh..
  10. Well Ser, I am very pleased that it did please you and that many people here enjoyed it...but please don t call my critic non professional because it did not please me...we are free folks who think as we like :drunk:
  11. :agree: given my critics here already...it is miles below the suspense GRRM creates in the book! omg they even played Rains of Castamere like some background table music....
  12. An Emmy for Michelle Fairley for that that is true!!! Walder Frey also did very good I found. But as for rest I was rather disappointed....I was much more taken by the dramatic genious of the book when I read it. They did not succeed in catching the wonderful moment when the music changed to the drums of Rains of Castamere and Cat suddenly realizing..oh something wrong here!!! ..instead the scene was very poorly made I found..they just changed the music to Rains of Castamere without those wonderful drums who were turning your blood into ice in the books... And the Arya scene with the Hound taking her away from the Twins was poorly made too. Nothing of Aryas desperation: Help me save my mother!! I have to go in there!!! Instead she was kind of just watching the killing of Greywind and then boooom, passing out after the Hounds blow...which also was no dramatic highlight. And nothing really breathtaking happening on the other scenes of the show as well...Daario taking Yunkai in the dark and some lingering looks afterwards...you only saw some men fighting in the dark..well... I found that was one of the weakest episodes of the series so far....and was disappointed because my expectations had run high before. I was much more taken by rereading the book again I must admit! But...an Oscar or an Emmy or whatever to Michelle Fairley who did save the RW for me somehow!
  13. one of the best scenes so far...Lord Tyvin and Queen of Thorns discussing tolerance towards sexual orientation haha... I also liked how the scene LF/Varys was dramatically orchestrated...to play the game of thrones at its best.. and big surprise to see the Red Lady with Arya...very clever how the wood witch from the books and Edric Storm have been replaced by Gendry and Melisandre...Question is now: will Melisandre be one of Aryas victims in the end? hmmm
