  1. In the end I gave it a 5. It was looking like a pretty decent episode most of the way through, though it certainly felt rushed. (and of course it was always going to be a bit underwhelming after episode 9) There was a bit of awkward dialogue or forced uneccessary scenes(tyrion+sansa, sam+aemon & varys+shae scene etc.), Bran being a bit too melodramatic with sam was strange, asha's determination to rescue theon a bit out of character, and stannis decidng to go to the wall being simplified to "because cause mel tells him to" was a bit weak. But It's GoT so I'm willing to forgive a lot. I can get over the fact that d&d dislike stannis and they're gonna portray him differently, I can even get over the portrayal of shae, to an extent I can move past or ignore SO MANY of the poor choices in the show. However that final scene with dany was downright awful, terrible tv and unfortunately it dragged the rest of the episode down with it. otherwise I might have given the episode a 7 or so. Really considering this was a season finale I'm being generous by giving it a 5.
  2. I had to think on this for a day, at first i wasnt so entirely sure what i thought of the episode, and the adaptation of the red wedding. However in retrospect, I can;t lie to myself the episode was simply decent-to-good, I rate it an 8. It might seem liek im beign a bit harsh considering the restraints of tv but some of the changes seemed like really poor choices, not to discredit the things the did well. The depiction of the red wedding in particular just wasn't what it could been. It wasn't bad by any means, hell i dont watch much tv but it wouldn't be hard to imagine that something like this is unprecedented on television. It's just considering that this was THE moment that made D&D want to write the show, the event the they wanted to adapt to tv the most, it is dissapointing. I expected better, sadly what i got was conformation that the tv adaptation would continue to merely be decent.
  3. I honestly cant seem where all the love for this episode is coming from, this was easily one of the weakest of this season for sure. Though I'm not really suprised, as alot of the choices they made did make sense given the constraints, it was still dissapointing. It's sad that the arya/hound chapters are seemingly going to be essentially skipped, (though I suppose they can try to make up for this next season.) The hound was far too nice. Quite a few characters were unconvincing this episode, I dont mind the fact that the plot has to be simplified for the show, but when characters have to act so out of character it just comes across of unconvincing. Even moreso with no rob/cat this episode its clear that Its gonna take one hell of an episode 9 to at least somewhat make up for the damage the show has done to rob and cat's storylines. We'll overall this season has still been really well done, I hope the last two episodes make up for this dissapointment.
