  1. I don't disagree, I just liked the way he started out questioning it and then progressed on. You could be right, because of the shock to his mind and body he is just going straight to thinking that. How he has portrayed Jaime has been fantastic, when "complaints" have to be such minor nitpicks it shows how well it is being done.
  2. Is the KG oath to the family or is it to the position? There's obviously the conflict during the rebellion, but after the person in place has changed, does the KG owe allegiance to the prior king or new? Since they are Kingsguard and not Targ Guard or Baratheon guard I've never had as much a problem with the KG working for the new king.
  3. Of course he wouldn't have changed - he would have had no reason. That is why I was disappointed last week when he admitted to Brienne that all he is is a hand with a sword. I much preferred the process in the book when he questions himself as to "am I only a hand?" Without him losing his hand he has 0 reason to make any changes, be at all self reflective or look at anyone else like they may even be close to what he represents. It really is one of the few issues I had with last weeks episode, I think his knowing and admitting right off that he acknowledges all he is a hand with a sword in it really cuts into what his character progression can be.
  4. That doesn't fit with how disconsolate he was - his interaction with Sansa was just a few days before this scene and he was upset at even the mention of Renly. To then have him turn around like this was a big leap from where he had been established.
  5. Still great TV, some of the portions cut out are for time and make complete sense. Some just don't follow with the characters...how Brienne is talking to Jaime, Stannis and Melisandre. And I still believe that with the cast of characters that were available and the depth they had, any time I see Roz on screen it is a waste. Have more to say, but will have to later.
  6. I don't disagree, but was just talking about the once scene. Adding up everything they have done...well, it is a very different person than what we were given to expect. Similar to how Davos was arrested - not because she saw him attempting to kill her, but because he draws a knife on her.
  7. Rhaegar Died! Would have loved the whole set up to that - it was a great paragraph but that was well done.
  8. Does it blow up Stannis character...no...but him admitting he wants her as more than a service to his kingship is weak.
  9. interesting spiral pattern - different than the first season opener and the dragon birth.
  10. Is LF channeling Batman? Seems to be speaking much more raspy than he had been.
  11. Nice! wanted to see the arrows miss, though Robb laughing was a little misplaced.
  12. Yeah, that was her playing Joffrey like a harp. She said what she needed to get the reactions from him - that was entirely her taking the measure of him based on what Sansa had said.
  13. Make him a Stark? well that scene isn't going to inflame the Catelyn v. Jon Snow threads.
  14. c'mon, lets see Butterbumps! "he's a monster" boom. headshot.
  15. oh man, they skipped the part of the discussion about Renly...granted, it's not subtle like the book, but enjoyed that exchange. and welcome to the flock of hens! QoT!!!
  16. God I hope not since, as things stand now, there would be no malice to drive that murder
  17. It's great TV, but it has a very high bar to measure against. Davos - I liked that they cut out his internal monologue of being on the spires, I didn't like how they had him interact with Saan, it was too adversarial. Fist/Sam - not seeing the fight is fine, I've almost never thought they needed to show more fighting. Sam being ignored still seems to much deus ex machina to have at this point, it was just as easy to have him run away, look back and see the WW and pan out. Dany/Unsullied - I liked it just fine, they kept in the derision from the slave owner and kept her perspective. Roz/Shae - wasted time on screen. Jon/Mance - I think the way they did this lost out on a lot. Jon wanting to live does not give him the connection to Mance that he built with his "And where did they seat the bastard?" dialogue. It gives no reason to Mance to truly believe he has switched his cloak for just that reason. Barristan - it would have been very difficult to do, but his immediate reveal loses a lot. At this point an apology is what is keeping Dany from having her dragons roast him for letting her family die and going over to Robert. Dragons - not sure if it was just this instance, but last season the dragons seemed part of the picture, this time they looked more like a SyFy movie FX, was a little disappointed in how they looked. That being said, the giant looked fantastic. Harrenhall - rather disjointed, it's like they are trying to tie everyone to specific locations. 7/10. Good start to the season, room for improvement but enjoyable to watch.
  18. My totally unsubstantiated guess would be that the remaining members would vote/select/id whomever they thought should take that spot and <poof> that person is in.
