    Watch, Watched, Watching: The Prequel

Got to see Incredibles 2 on Fathers day and loved it. Jack Jack stole the show for me, there were several places where I was crying with laughter. I thought the bad guy was a little obvious, but that may have also been one of those instances where it just caught me right. They did a good job of flipping the story on its side and having Elastigirl being the primary this time. I hope it doesn't take them another 14 years for a sequel - and I'm not sure I want to see Jack Jack any older.

    Welcome to Jurassic Park!

Well, at least now we can get people actually riding on dinosaurs instead of just seeing it in museums!

At what age did you move out of your parents house

I was 19 - after sophomore year at college, it wasn't really officially official until I graduated but I didn't live at home after that school year. Would have been interesting moving back to small town NH after graduation but I was able to get a job and have been there ever since.

haven't been around a lot lately, but Team Me please!
  6. My guess is that they are going to be able to pull her forward from the 90s so they don't have to explain what she's been doing - she steps from 1993 to present - and can have the explanation that as bad as the NYC invasion was, it wasn't universe threatening.

    Deadpool 2 (SpoilyourbreechesstupidautofillAway)

Going into this I was worried they were going to try to ramp up on what made the first successful, like in GotG2 going to the Nth degree with Rocket being ass. Was pleased to see they just kept it at the same level and it worked just as well. I've seen the 1st i don't know how many times, so my first reaction is to say I liked it more but that may just be familiarity. Thought this was just as good. If the miscredits is canon, I'm happy because it means Morena Baccarin could be back and I love seeing her play off of Reynolds. Like he said though...lazy writing! I won't see it again in the theatres, but I definitely will be getting this one when it's available.
  8. It's been a couple weeks, but I was able to avoid spoilers - and this is really the first movie in a long time that I have wanted to go into blind. Very happy that I did - I knew there would be a deathtoll (as did everyone) but was impressed with how they really did handle some of them in an anticlimactic fashion. Loki getting choked out, Gamora tossed off the cliff - I was happy to see things happen like that. It made it even more annoying to see the good guys then go on their monologues. It did give me shivers in 2 places - when Cap is revealed during the Vision/Wanda fight and when Thor beamed himself in. I like that they are playing Hulk as an upset child - he is only 2+ years old and got stomped for the first time, he doesn't know how to react.

Watch, Watched, Watching: The Good, Bad and Ugly

Finally got to see The Last Jedi. I was surprised at how bad it was - Force Awakens was much of a redo, this was as well and lumped on to it some wildly stupid premises. Was so disappointed, especially after Rogue 1, was hoping we'd see an upswing in those. Hopefully Solo doesn't suck.

Exercise and Fitness: Keep On Keepin' On

So I'm 6 weeks out from my tear and I'm just starting to do some aggressive overhead pulls - muscle ups, etc. I started with just a single pull up, and on Thursday wanted to test a pull on rings. Found out I can do strict muscle ups and hadn't been able to do those pre-injury. Pretty happy with that - still taking it easy with volume and aggressive movements, but very happy with the progress.

    Is David Eddings any good?

I do a reread of the Belgariad/Mallorean/Elenium/Tamuli at least annually. I read them for the first time in my teens, played in a D&D campaign that was partially based around some of the stories so fell in love with them. Now, I read them like getting to see an old friend I don't get to catch up with as often as I'd like. @Werthead - you may know this; I am positive I read somewhere that Sparkhawk, etc came out of a partially finished story of the Tamuli that an editor got their hands on early and asked for the whole story so the Elenium was born. Any idea if that is true? I do enjoy also reading their other books - the Rivan Codex is an interesting read into how he designed and built the world. It's amazing to see how many retcons happen in the Belgarath and Polgara books, but also fun to read through.

Exercise and Fitness: Keep On Keepin' On

Jesus, she's already 19lbs over mine...I want to hit 500 before her! I was doing ring muscle ups - protecting my left arm over overstressed my right and tore some fibers. Got lucky there was no tendon issue - mostly all healed up already, going to be starting up gymnasty stuff soon.

Damn, was hoping it wasn't a tear - that sucks man, hope you recover quickly. Lots of folks were impressed as all get out with the video of Rhi's 484 pulls. Tore my biceps a month ago - very slight tear but it was enough to take me out. I was progressing towards the next phase from the Crossfit Open and that got stopped cold. It's almost healed back up, thankfully I've been able to workout around it for a bit.
  14. Yep - the horseshoe was going to fall out at some point, but they definitely earned that win. Allen needs to find his range again, 1-9 is going to be painful regardless of what Bagley does. It's a conference loss, but I'd rather see this than one of these to UNC, etc.
