  1. I had way more criticism in the first episodes than the last ones. I dont know if they were as bad as I remember or if I was way too critic.
  2. Bread crums. Maybe someone has not realized that is Lancel but giving bits of information like this is definitaly going to help some realize what is going on. Lancel looks so much like a woman that I have no doubts most people will remember him.
  3. The Pycelle scene was good for me. It showed us that he is a player just as any other. His exposition speech may not have been needed but it was probabily helpfull to some viewers. Now, about the highpoints. Mormont speech was definitaly the best moment of the show, if not the entire season. It had the epic tone and feeling I was expecting from most other episodes. I love the speech + war scenes in any show, and in this one it was doing superbly. It gave me chills, unlike most other episodes that made me feel nothing. The Dragon´s birth scene was amazing too. It was perfect and almost 100% as the book. Another awesome moment there. The dragons are very well done and althrough they do look a lot like CG it was done very well and they adapted 100% to Dany´s body and the surounding. The King of the North scene was not perfect for me (I wish there were more people and more shouting) but it was amazing too. I just wish there were more people to give it more of an epic feeling. Nonetheless, just as episode 8, another 10 from me.
  4. I give it a 7. Robb speech was lame and totaly unnecessary. The battles could have been done properly and without that much money.
  5. Dont know about that. I doubt Mirri would know that Drogo was such a bad ass Khal and that his son would be the Stalion Who Mounts the World. Maybe traveling with them gave her this information and was what made her decide to sabotage Khal Drogo and Dany.
  6. That is a hard subject, but I agree mostly with you. Yet, one of the biggest acomplishments of GRRM is that there is absolutely no 100% pure of evil character in the books. I mean, even Stannis and Tywin have their flaws. Mirri could be just another of these not so perfect characters. I mean, in the end she says she is not going to scream, but she do after the flames get her. It could be the same. In the start she was true on her intentions to help Drogo and was grateful to Dany, but things change. For example, she learns that Drogo son is suposed to become the Stalion who Mounts the World. That sole information could be what made her change and decide to kill Rhaego.
  7. AKAIK Drogo´s injury was healing properly but he got the bandage away and put some mudd or shit on the wound and that is why it festered. He took it away because it was "itching".
  8. One that gets caught. Also, the guards said he looked to be counting: maybe he was writing numbers down and the guards didnt knew how to read.
  9. Im giving this one a 10. I hope the crew realizes the best episodes are the ones that are most faithfull with the source material and that the next seasons should be more like this episode. No Roz and extra stupid sexplotation scenes, please. In fact this episode was the only one where I felt it was realy true to the source material.
  10. Actually when I imagined the TV series I thought that they would at least have some thoughs portrayed as voice overs in some scenes, but Ive hardly seen it in TV anywhere. The general population barely think, so I guess they would have a hard time looking at characters with their mouths closed while their voices speak something. Hell, it works in Sex and the City, I dont know how it couldnt work in GoT LOL :D
  11. Im reading book 1 again and Im impressed that so few stuff happens in each episode. Most of the information on the chapters is about memories, thoughts, perceptions and dialogue. For example, in the book Ned and Robert barely see or talk to each other. I believe they dont even meet each other in the book in fact before Robert´s death besides the scene where Ned retires as Hand.. They have to create scenes to build up the tension and the animosity between characters. Its hard to portray thoughts in a TV setting. Even the aditional scenes between Ned and the Lannisters are done to create conflict and build up tension for what we know is going to happen.
  12. I wanted a better adaptation but now I see it would take 30 hours, not 10 hours to properly do it. Now Im just enjoying the ride: the tv series is a diferent entity from the books and at least now we can see some of our beloved scenes in action. We wont be able to see all the good parts from the book but at least a few of them will be done properly.
  13. Agreed. I think this was the best. At least now they spent more than a few seconds at each scene, where in the previous episodes everything was too rushed. Now they took some time to develop the characters, spend some time on quality dialogue and there were some very good scenes, specially Old Nan´s scene (IMHO the best scene of the episode) and Syrio Forel. It was a character development episode, and those are my favorites. I mean, just look how much time they spent on the scene the assassin tries to kill Bran: there should be more tension and more time developed to it. In episode 3 they gave some scenes its proper time (like Tyrion talk with Mormont, Old Nan, Ned talking with Arya, King Robert scene. The aditional scenes dont bother me as much. For example, in the books we get to know much about Robert through Ned´s memories, yet they arent in the show. An aditional scene to show him how bad ass he was/is looks proper to me. I just wished they had added a flashback scene to the end, where Ned looks Arya and starts to hear battle sounds. Just wish he could remember something awesome.
