Yeah, the Franco stuff is really gross, and somehow keeps getting grosser with every update

Just woke up, have my Dodgers done anything interesting lately?

So… Jon Fosse. His name has been bandied about for a decade or so now, but still a boring choice. That’s two boring Europeans in a row

I have the feeling this might be Rushdie's year.
That would be very cool. It might even be enough to restore a small bit of respect for the SA in me

So… Thursday. I have no feel for who will win this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being Christopher Nolan. Although, I believe he’s an American citizen. So, whoever the French Christopher Nolan is

They're people too! I know they made an alliance with @Myshkin and his lizard people, but they still count.
Woah buddy, this is slander! Everyone knows that people who post in the show threads are dangerous weirdos. To suggest they have any association with the Children of the Downrising is the vilest of sunstealer propaganda

We lost Jeff Beck today. A genuine guitar god. If you want to have your face melted (or want to hear Rod Stewart as an honest-to-god rock star) go listen to Truth or Beck-Ola

The Correa contract has four separate vesting options for $25m, $20m, $15m, and $10m respectively. So after the first six years the Twins will get to see how he holds up on a yearly basis. Correa has no opt outs.

Carlos Correa to the Twins, 6yrs/$200mm, with a vesting option that would add another 4yrs/70mm if reached
ETA: this contract is pending physical, so, you know, don’t celebrate yet Twins fans

Does releasing him mean they are not responsible for the cap his contract holds? It’s pretty clear the Dodgers are going for a one year low salary to clear their cap penalties. Pretty sure taking his 34 million will take them back into the CBT penalty.
His salary still counts against the luxury tax, which probably explains why the Dodgers have been so quiet this offseason. According to MLB Trade Rumors Bauer’s salary puts the Dodgers at about a million bucks under the lux tax threshold

Trevor Bauer’s suspension has been reduced to 194 games, meaning he has now been reinstated. Bob Nightengale has reported that the Dodgers plan to release Bauer, and I sure hope that’s true
