    Board Issues 4

I have the same issue as others. I had to switch to Chrome a month or so back because using Explorer I couldn't post, now I had to switch back to Explorer and it works.
  2. ^^^ This is true more than anything else. The person they like dies or is not shown as they would like to see them and the ratings crash, the show sucks, writing sucks blah blah blah.
  3. Im not a book purist so I liked the episode. Arya is basically where she was in the books, she now has been blinded, and maybe this, like in the book will teach her to use her warging abilities? Reek and Sansa have jumped the wall similar to the book except for fArya. Got the "battle" of Winterfell. Man, Stannis just knew he had lost before it started. Every person had worse and worse news for him. He wakes up and remembers he killed the one true good thing in his life. Half his army abandons him for it. His wife hangs herself. His witch rides off and leaves him. Stannis being Stannis he marches on, hey guys get ready for the siege....uhh boss, there won't be a siege, we are fucked... I just wish Brienne hadn't been there to kill him, felt cheap to me. I didn't quite get Myrcella being poisoned. If Jaime decides to have the boat turn around the sand snakes and whats her name all die, so what good is that? We are to assume Jaime just keeps on heading to KL after being called dad by his daughter who then dies in his arms? Dorne sucked right to the end. Cersie walk of shame was done pretty well, it did seem a little to long for me and I enjoy seeing naked women, so that isn't the issue! Felt like it could have been shortened and still had the same impact. I did like Robert Strongs decayed looking face in the helmet though. Seeing Pycelle and Kevan there made me think a cross bow was coming but no... OK, Dany with Drogon, just fine, no issue. Her being found by a khalasar(?) no problem, she is where we thought she would be. Jorah and Daario going off on a tracking mission? How do you track something that flies? "uhh it headed north so we will just go north"... That was silly. Leaving Tyrion, Grey Worm and Misande there to rule makes perfect sense and I would bet Tyrion gets the place under control quickly. As for the other part...Varys just showing up by his side was fucking stupid. All we needed was a few more minutes of screen time, a knock on a door, hey you have a visitor, some bald eunich is here to see you, something, anything. And Jon. Damn it damn it damn it. You even stabbed him worse than in the books, a lot of gut stabs. And you put the red witch up there with him so now I have to worry about the kiss of life. 42 more weeks to go.
  4. Gave it an 8. Hated seeing my boy Jon get stabbed in the gut so many times. In the book I could see him surviving, but this many gut shots, I don't see how. I was never a fan of the kiss of life and now it seems like that is his only chance. RIP, Jon Snow, Stannis, Selsye, and Myrcella, basically the entire Baratheon line..... random red shirt army guys x5000, and lastly, RIP Cersie's hair! Funny how people are complaining about so many cliff hangers, since it's pretty much where the last book left off.
  5. All of this outrage, and if Stannis sacrifices Shireen in the next book...Oh, well GRRM did it properly and now it makes sense, if DD had just done this it would be ok. blah blah blah
  6. @dannyk65 , no. If you read the post it's about clearing the posts from here that are only here to criticize a show they will never like and yet continue to watch. It's unfortunate that you have to wade through all of them to get to discussions on the show that are not always going to be negative. Imagine how much cleaner the thread would be without posts from people who are only here to be negative. I thought that was why the rant and rave thread exists. The amazing thing to me is if people criticize GRRM in the book section moderators and others jump in and say hey, stop, discuss but don't get personal, and yet DD get destroyed.
  7. Here in the U.S. when we had the Presedential elections and Obama was running for his 1st term there were thousands of American "patriots" who swore they would leave the US if he won. 7 years later, he is still the President and those people who swore to leave are still here. Here in the forum we have people who swear they will not watch Season 5, and yet, 9 episodes later they are still here crying and bitching and clogging up the space with their hate that will never change. It sure would be nice and respectful if people who have nothing but hate would stay in the nit pick forum. It's clear that 25% of the people on here will never further a conversation in a positive manner.
  8. Do we all watch the same show and read the same books? It's not just women who are suffering in this series. How many men were forced to marry for the family? How many are sent off to foster with strangers for the family? How many are sent off to war as children? How many references in the series are there about so and so and his affinity for boys? There are male prostitutes, male slaves... I seem to remember a certain Greyjoy getting flayed. Some Stark Lord getting burned to death while his son watched and strangled himself to death trying to help him. The series kills, tortures and destroys everyone, little by little everyone pays the price. Take your morals and use them in real life and fix injustices in real life and leave the fantasy world alone.
  9. Hell I gave it a 9, I actually liked the episode and thought a lot happened and a lot more was set up. Arya ignored her task and instead followed Trant. She will either go back and change her face to kill Trant or get stopped by Jaqen. To me it has set her up to be blinded in the next episode as a punishment. Jon getting back and the obvious disapproval of the NW other than Sam. Getting a few thousand wildlings through to safety is a big deal. Setting up the season ending cliffhanger. Ramsey torching Stannis and making their situation that much more desperate. I wish Davos hadn't said the line, "about 20 men", we didn't need that reference we already knew who it was. The sacrifice has been coming all season and can't be that shocking to the people here. It was absolutely horrible and as a father I can say it would never happen under my watch. Take my blood instead since I am the King and have my own kings blood. People are saying that it's out of character for him to do this but it really isn't, he sacrificed family members and his own lords. Does Davos basically deliver the pink letter now? Is the message he brings Jon about sending men and food going to replace the pink letter and be the tipping point? Dorne, heck even Dorne wasn't bad this week! Dany and Drogon. This was done very well in my mind. I was worried since day one how realistic they would be able to have a person riding a dragon and I think it was done pretty well. I liked how Dany and Missande basically held hands and were basically resigned to their fate until they heard the dragon shriek. I am surprised at the number of comments that nothing happened. To me wildlings being allowed past the gates was big. A king sacrificing his only heir was huge. Dany flying off on a dragon, the first time that has happened in what a hundred years, was epic.
  10. Near the end of the battle when they were showing the knights king from the feet and scanning up I was half expecting it to be Benjen Stark. For some reason I kept expecting him to appear. Imagine how Jon would have felt had he been the one to raise up the dead and stare at him from the beach with those blue eyes.
  11. I really liked this episode. It seemed like there was no let down from the start to the finish. Cat of the canals...nice drop if you noticed it. Ice spiders got a mention. We saw Wun-Wun! I was thinking he would be cut from the show. Lord o bones made a splash of an appearance Very clear how the final battle is setting up now and clearly fire vs ice. Valyrian steel and dragon glass and dragon fire? Liked how Tyrion referenced Dany not going to Westeros, about wanting something more. What if she never truly goes to Westeros and instead heads north to the battle for humanity. Dany and the broken wheel speech made it. Just such a well done episode that it's hard to capture it all.

  13. I was wondering about the hood also, kept waiting for it to stand up.
  14. Gave it a 9, one of the best of the entire series. I am sure people will find something to latch on and bitch about but to hell with them! Cersei licking water off the floor like a dog, my how the mighty have fallen. Sansa and Reek, now she knows Bran and Rickon are alive. Roose and Ramsey, looks like a raiding party is in the works. Tyrion and Dany talking. Nice to see a little back and forth where neither trusts the other and both give some smart ass responses. Hardhome - better than expected. Nights King appearance, seeing that Valyrian steel kills a wight, and a well done large scale battle. Kevan Lannister back in KL Varys getting some love to Dany from Tyrion NO DORNE!!!! Going to watch it again today.
  15. Cersei could be arrested for incest with Jaime since, while married to the King, Lancel knows about that. Pretty sure it was also stated that she instructed Lancel to give Robert too much wine. Oh, and she was having sex with Lancel also. Again, same statement, sex is not in the vows. Have no family, father no children is. That's why molestown was nearby, to release some pent up energy. Funny plot hole there though. Molestown was a whore house right... so how did the nightswatch brothers pay them? They don't receive any money for being in the nightswatch do they, they don't have any type of money generating activities.
  16. HBO has stated they do not want a movie. They are a pay channel for their subscribers and would feel like they ripped of the customers if they did a movie to end it. They have to remain true all of to their paying customers, not just fans of one show. I would be pissed off as a HBO subscriber if AGOT, and True detective and The Sopranos all ended in theatres instead of on HBO where it was built. If they want to do a Roberts rebellion prequel, or show it on big screen two weeks after, so be it, but do not end the story there.
  17. I gave it a 7, tied for lowest of the season, and strangely when I watched it the first time I liked it more. I watched it again yesterday and found myself fast forwarding a lot. Jon, should have taken Ghost, but now you can see why they didn't. The attempted rape of Gilly didn't seem out of place to me at all. To me that is setting up the mood for how dangerous the wall is becoming. Jon is gone, Aemon is gone, and most of the brothers are criminals. There is one female there amongst those men and no moles town to go to for hookers. To me Gilly and Sam may still head south to Oldtown if for no reason but to get her to safety. Sansa was exactly what I expected, she trusts easily and though Theon would help her, but Theon is gone, Reek is what remains. Sansa is smarter and bolder, she was throwing bastard in his face for a reason. Sansa is trying to set him up for conflict and hoping she can advance herself in the chaos. Dorne, better since it didn't seem comical. I mean the fight last week was just silly, all of them are trained badasses and no one died, just silly. Hopefully they play Jaime out so he sees just how Cersei manipulates him. Fighting pit. FINALLY. Dany And Tyrion meet, been waiting a few years for this. Now we have to see how they get along. I also see it as strange how she could watch the dragons tear a man apart and eat him but she turns away from men killing men.
  18. I saw the Arya getting slapped as she was lying and didn't even realize it. She didn't hate the Hound in the end and Jaqen could sense it even if she couldn't, so to him she was lying.
  19. As to the Sansa / Ramsey scene, she was ready to do what she knew was going to happen. It wasn't until Theon was commanded to stay that she really became horrified. She was willing to have sex with Ramsey, but not be humiliated at the same time.

  21. I went with a 7 but could have been a 6. I liked most of the episode except Dorne. Most of my dislike for Dorne is this big build up in the books about the sand snakes and then you have this week battle royale with a one handed Jaime and Bronn that ends in a stale mate. Just feels too rushed and not thought out. Arya, liked a lot of her scenes. Getting some more of the FM story, becomming no one etc. Kings Landing, ehh..ok. Kinda strange how Tommen didn't stop the faith from taking her right in front of him. Silly little boy forgot how much he liked having sex with her! Was that some forshadowing in the preview where you hear the high sparrow talking about justice but you don't see who he is speaking too, maybe the other arrest is next. Sansa. Yeah it sucks. Knew it was coming and it wasn't as bad as I was set up for so I was a little relieved. Can't wait for her to get some revenge at some point in her life. Tyrion / Jorah. A lot of people last week were unhappy that Tyrion didn't mention meeting Jorahs dad, and now he does mention him and OBTW he is dead, killed by his own men, sorry Jorah.
  22. It's funny that people complain about HBO using beautiful actresses or eye candy. This is the same HBO that airs Girls with Lena Dunham, and people complain about her being naked and not pretty! Bitchers are going to bitch no matter what happens.
  23. IMO They are tearing apart the Mereen plot because GRRM messed it up so much, even he aknowledged it by calling it the Mereneese knot. The show is having to cut out a lot of what he had problems with. I would say that her feeding a noble to the dragons is her unleashing them on the sons of the Harpy. After all, it's not like she can tell Viserion and Rhegal to "go kill only the sons of the Harpy" and have it work. Dragons are efficient in combat when ridden and you know who the enemy is. As to it being hamfisted when Aemon talks about the last Targaryen and Jon walks in...I have asked some non readers about the scene and it wasn't picked up.
  24. As to Sansa and the candle. I think you are being more literal than I am. She could light the candle tonight to let Brienne know that yes I really do need your help, i just couldn't put you in danger at the inn with LF there. It would be stupid and silly to think she would run up there while being chased and in immediate danger, sometimes common sense has to be used when interpreting things.
