  1. Near the end of the battle when they were showing the knights king from the feet and scanning up I was half expecting it to be Benjen Stark. For some reason I kept expecting him to appear. Imagine how Jon would have felt had he been the one to raise up the dead and stare at him from the beach with those blue eyes.
  2. I really liked this episode. It seemed like there was no let down from the start to the finish. Cat of the canals...nice drop if you noticed it. Ice spiders got a mention. We saw Wun-Wun! I was thinking he would be cut from the show. Lord o bones made a splash of an appearance Very clear how the final battle is setting up now and clearly fire vs ice. Valyrian steel and dragon glass and dragon fire? Liked how Tyrion referenced Dany not going to Westeros, about wanting something more. What if she never truly goes to Westeros and instead heads north to the battle for humanity. Dany and the broken wheel speech made it. Just such a well done episode that it's hard to capture it all.

  4. I was wondering about the hood also, kept waiting for it to stand up.
  5. Gave it a 9, one of the best of the entire series. I am sure people will find something to latch on and bitch about but to hell with them! Cersei licking water off the floor like a dog, my how the mighty have fallen. Sansa and Reek, now she knows Bran and Rickon are alive. Roose and Ramsey, looks like a raiding party is in the works. Tyrion and Dany talking. Nice to see a little back and forth where neither trusts the other and both give some smart ass responses. Hardhome - better than expected. Nights King appearance, seeing that Valyrian steel kills a wight, and a well done large scale battle. Kevan Lannister back in KL Varys getting some love to Dany from Tyrion NO DORNE!!!! Going to watch it again today.
  6. Cersei could be arrested for incest with Jaime since, while married to the King, Lancel knows about that. Pretty sure it was also stated that she instructed Lancel to give Robert too much wine. Oh, and she was having sex with Lancel also. Again, same statement, sex is not in the vows. Have no family, father no children is. That's why molestown was nearby, to release some pent up energy. Funny plot hole there though. Molestown was a whore house right... so how did the nightswatch brothers pay them? They don't receive any money for being in the nightswatch do they, they don't have any type of money generating activities.
  7. HBO has stated they do not want a movie. They are a pay channel for their subscribers and would feel like they ripped of the customers if they did a movie to end it. They have to remain true all of to their paying customers, not just fans of one show. I would be pissed off as a HBO subscriber if AGOT, and True detective and The Sopranos all ended in theatres instead of on HBO where it was built. If they want to do a Roberts rebellion prequel, or show it on big screen two weeks after, so be it, but do not end the story there.
  8. I gave it a 7, tied for lowest of the season, and strangely when I watched it the first time I liked it more. I watched it again yesterday and found myself fast forwarding a lot. Jon, should have taken Ghost, but now you can see why they didn't. The attempted rape of Gilly didn't seem out of place to me at all. To me that is setting up the mood for how dangerous the wall is becoming. Jon is gone, Aemon is gone, and most of the brothers are criminals. There is one female there amongst those men and no moles town to go to for hookers. To me Gilly and Sam may still head south to Oldtown if for no reason but to get her to safety. Sansa was exactly what I expected, she trusts easily and though Theon would help her, but Theon is gone, Reek is what remains. Sansa is smarter and bolder, she was throwing bastard in his face for a reason. Sansa is trying to set him up for conflict and hoping she can advance herself in the chaos. Dorne, better since it didn't seem comical. I mean the fight last week was just silly, all of them are trained badasses and no one died, just silly. Hopefully they play Jaime out so he sees just how Cersei manipulates him. Fighting pit. FINALLY. Dany And Tyrion meet, been waiting a few years for this. Now we have to see how they get along. I also see it as strange how she could watch the dragons tear a man apart and eat him but she turns away from men killing men.
  9. I saw the Arya getting slapped as she was lying and didn't even realize it. She didn't hate the Hound in the end and Jaqen could sense it even if she couldn't, so to him she was lying.
  10. As to the Sansa / Ramsey scene, she was ready to do what she knew was going to happen. It wasn't until Theon was commanded to stay that she really became horrified. She was willing to have sex with Ramsey, but not be humiliated at the same time.

  12. I went with a 7 but could have been a 6. I liked most of the episode except Dorne. Most of my dislike for Dorne is this big build up in the books about the sand snakes and then you have this week battle royale with a one handed Jaime and Bronn that ends in a stale mate. Just feels too rushed and not thought out. Arya, liked a lot of her scenes. Getting some more of the FM story, becomming no one etc. Kings Landing, ehh..ok. Kinda strange how Tommen didn't stop the faith from taking her right in front of him. Silly little boy forgot how much he liked having sex with her! Was that some forshadowing in the preview where you hear the high sparrow talking about justice but you don't see who he is speaking too, maybe the other arrest is next. Sansa. Yeah it sucks. Knew it was coming and it wasn't as bad as I was set up for so I was a little relieved. Can't wait for her to get some revenge at some point in her life. Tyrion / Jorah. A lot of people last week were unhappy that Tyrion didn't mention meeting Jorahs dad, and now he does mention him and OBTW he is dead, killed by his own men, sorry Jorah.
  13. It's funny that people complain about HBO using beautiful actresses or eye candy. This is the same HBO that airs Girls with Lena Dunham, and people complain about her being naked and not pretty! Bitchers are going to bitch no matter what happens.
  14. IMO They are tearing apart the Mereen plot because GRRM messed it up so much, even he aknowledged it by calling it the Mereneese knot. The show is having to cut out a lot of what he had problems with. I would say that her feeding a noble to the dragons is her unleashing them on the sons of the Harpy. After all, it's not like she can tell Viserion and Rhegal to "go kill only the sons of the Harpy" and have it work. Dragons are efficient in combat when ridden and you know who the enemy is. As to it being hamfisted when Aemon talks about the last Targaryen and Jon walks in...I have asked some non readers about the scene and it wasn't picked up.
  15. As to Sansa and the candle. I think you are being more literal than I am. She could light the candle tonight to let Brienne know that yes I really do need your help, i just couldn't put you in danger at the inn with LF there. It would be stupid and silly to think she would run up there while being chased and in immediate danger, sometimes common sense has to be used when interpreting things.
  16. What is so hard about climbing the broken tower? Jaime and Cersei did it to have sex so if Cersei can do it so can Sansa.
  17. Another solid episode, gave it an 8 again. Liked the focus on the North the last couple shows, you can see it's now set up to not be in the next episode much. Stannis and co. left and Jon heading to Hardhome. Really different taking Mel with him to Winterfell since many assume she is helpful after the caesering of Jon. Setting it up for Sansa to escape, Theon and Brienne will help. Poor Jorah set up for grey scale instead of being branded and a slave. Dany feeding her babies was ok, just wish they had showed more of her reasoning behind marriage proposal. Missande and Grey worm...fast forward material.
  18. One thing I am wondering about is Mel. She called Stannis out for leaving her behind before the last battle, he said he will take her with him this time. We all know that in the books she stays at Castle Black...so... Is this just her setting Stannis up to believe she wants to go with him when really she wants to stay behind or is she really going with him? In the books she is mostly there for the wildling queen and babe, and to tell Jon about Arya coming to him... thoughts?
  19. I love how 33% of the people freak out when there is a change or it doesn't do what they want done. Can you imagine how many seasons it would actually take to get through these books if they played it more true to the books? How many of the same people bitching here about things being left out, also bitched about 3 page descriptions of food? Or have posted that if GRRM would just be less descriptive about nipples on a breast plate we would have the next book already... Hateful people will always find something to hate on.
  20. I think people need to watch more closely or go back and rewatch. The Unsullied were badly outnumbered in every scene, sometimes like 6 to 1, so of course they lost. The Unsullied in the books die in similar attacks and are described to be at their best when in formation, which, in an ally, they are not in formation.
  21. I really liked this one and yes I am a book reader. Jon / Mel, yeah we didn't need her topless for that scene, but I am not complaining! At least the people bitching about men not being shown naked have to shut up since not one but two penisis were on screne in this episode. Sansa / LF / Dany / Barriston, great hearing the different perspectives on Rheagar, and actually hearing of HIM and Lyanna! Got a lot of the backstory, very true to the books. Sand snakes, ehh...didn't care for Dorne in books so thinking I will not care for it in show either. Jorah and Tyrion, love to see just how quick Tyrion pieced together why Jorah is where he is, and Jorah basically just bitch slaps him. Stannis and Shireen was great, you never get to see him like that.
  22. @ Anachosaurus......... if the show is so bad, why watch and come here to post? Also, if the show on it's own is so bad, why is it HBO's highest rated show ever? Most pirated show? I know people who only watch the show and they are just as passionate as a book reader is. Everyone has a different opinion and view, the one thing I have never understood is why do something you don't like? I don't like to be kicked in the balls, so I don't ask people to kick me in the balls, but maybe that's just me.
  23. have to agree that they should have shown the High Septon from the front. I mean that is the whole point of the walk of shame. If he was shy they could use a body double or prosthetic, like with Hodor("he has a little giant blood in him!")But to me, for reality sake he should have been shown. Showing Cersei doing the same walk and showing her from the waist down will not make sense. As far as why they are more willing to show women than men, well...it's the standard we live in right now and have since cinema first started showing nudity. You can show a woman fully nude and still not see the uhh..best parts(?) because of the hair or camera angle. If a man is nude, it's all out there, nothing is hidden. To me I think that is what the big difference is. If they were showing a woman nude, between her legs so ALL was visible, then they absolutely would be showing males nude more freely. This wins for my weirdest post ever.
  24. I gave it a 7, but could have gone to an 8 pretty easily. Sansa, at least she chose to do this. I just hope she doesn't get raped or tortured. I don't see how she could mentally recover from that, especially if Theon is included like he is in the books. Tyrion, mentioned the stone men, so is this forshadowing or just a shout out? Got kidnapped and never killed the woman in the whore house, so he is still likable. Jon, man.... I was so ready for him to say it and instead the line goes to Ollie, get me my sword. I would have given the episode a higher rating had the block been called for. Kinda liked the walk of shame the High Septon had to take as a precurser for things to come.
