  1. As others have pointed out, HBO's big takeaway from GoT seems to be that people liked dragons and political intrigue, and HotD has both of those.
  2. Either way, the only important question is what it means for these new shows. Will there be demand for more Westeros?
  3. Some people have a hard time accepting that others may have different opinions. Personally, I absolutely loathe The Last Jedi, and would even go as far as calling it cultural vandalism, but I would never judge someone for liking it. Same goes for season 8.
  4. For what it's worth, John Campea said that each season was better than the last, and season 8 was the best of the bunch. I'm sure there are others who agree with him.
  5. I guess the worst thing about the MCU is that it made Hollywood believe that there is no such thing as oversaturation.
  6. Honestly, I'm all for The Gangs of Flea Bottom if Martin Scorsese is directing.
  7. Given that the Sea Snake show is about a young Corlys Velaryon, maybe Flea Bottom was supposed to be about a young Davos?
  8. What I find frustrating about him is that he seems like a genuine fan of the series. He has obviously thoroughly read the books, and his videos are pretty good per se, but he reaches absolutely bonkers conclusions every time. For some strange reason.
  9. It's mentioned that Arianne and Daemon haven't been very close since they broke up, so we can't be sure that he was it on it. But Tyene definitely was: "Tyene and I are of an age and have been close as sisters since we were little girls. We have no secrets between us".
  10. I'm actually quite open to that possibility, but more for practical reasons. Tyene is the only of Arianne's best friends who isn't there for the Queenmaker plot. If someone in her party betrayed her, they probably would have been captured before taking off with Myrcella.
  11. Was the position of Warden of the West/East/North/South supposed to be more important than it ended up being? In AGOT, Robert names Jaime Warden of the East, and it seemed like a big deal, but then it just wasn't mentioned again.
  12. Can you imagine Dany daydreaming about Daario for two years? Ugh.
  13. What I'm trying to say is, AFFC Cersei would go down super quickly, which is what happened, but it might not be 100% consistent with AGoT-ASOS Cersei.
  14. I'm going to contradict myself a bit here, but I do sometimes get the feeling that Cersei's descent into the dumpster fire was somewhat sped up in AFFC. In the first three books she didn't seem that incompetent. Evil, yes, but not crazy.
  15. The Bear and the Maiden Fair could technically be referring to Jorah and Dany.
  16. IIRC, George said a while ago that there were no plans for a D&E adaptation. I wonder why he changed his mind.
  17. I'm afraid that they will pull a Hobbit by going beyond the existing material and put in a bunch of nonsense to stretch out the runtime.
  18. Here is GRRM saying that Euron has been to Valyria. Whatever that means.
  19. I'm by no means an expert, but I assumed that whatever problems they had would be solved before filming started.
  20. From what I've heard, Cersei's arrest and Brienne's encounter with Lady Stoneheart were supposed to happen after the gap.
  21. The problem is that some plotlines are moving forward quicker than others. Characters like Cersei and Brienne are actually past the point in the story where they would have been after the 5-year gap, while the likes of Arya and Bran still aren't there.
  22. But they did let D&D redo the original pilot for GoT, for what it's worth.
  23. But it's very uncommon to completely scrap a project that was this far along. I guess it must have been insanely bad.
