  1. I wonder how many boarders are members of JVs patreon, I am and I heard of it here. I was optimistic about lynch earlier in the year, but feel there has been a lack of momentum of publicity. Hopefully he is doing well
  2. Frankly I’d back Anne against the lot of them combined. and she can get the son in law involved for any rough stuff
  3. Oh I don’t believe he was suspended for being a bigot, but rather for refusing to make a (token) apology to save Rishi’s blushes.
  4. Well I’m furious. Despite booking in November, the hotel has bumped me. (I did book though a third party). I’m not impressed
  5. Thank you! I’d missed that this was out. Next stop amazon
  6. It was mostly nonsense, but I did think the bbc Vigil s2 did a reasonable job of showing the minor (and major) corruption of British arms industry. Amused to see 2 deputy chairmen resign from government because a second stage reading, madness!
  7. My sniffling head cold (and it is a head cold). I’m irritating myself with my own sniffling. Trace headache (could be the half bottle of wine yesterday) and cottony eyes means reading is ever so slightly hard.
  8. I’m sorry but it’s just fucking sport. This is ridiculous. Anyway, thought Mack Hanson looked wobbly coming off. Hopefully I’d ok, and Lowe is obvs a concern. sexton is playing a blinder though
  9. God i feel guilty I don’t see the gp enough. 8 has had an antibiotic for a uti aged about 2, and the last time she saw the gp was 2018 because Creche made me get antibiotic eye drops for conjunctivitis. 5 hasn’t seen a gp since the public health nurse stopped hassling me about his insufficient weight gain while breastfed (he takes after his dads side, all incredibly skinny). I did bring 8 when her temp didn’t go down below 40 after calpol when she was maybe 8 months. (I am not including vaccination visits and I have them fully vaxxed on all compulsory and voluntary vaxes inc chicken pox). I’m generally of the view that all kids are germ factories, and ignoring is the first line of treatment, folllowded by paracetamol and ibuprofen. I’m not ringing the gp unless I’ve a non blanching rash or we I’m properly scared
  10. I’d have given potm to Bering or Van Deir Flier if it were me. Love Aki, and that break was class, but thought they shaded it. as an Irish person, I can say the ref was slightly favourable to us. Nothing egregious but lots went our way. They left 11 points out there and Pollard will be back, but for sure we can play better. Hopefully the line out, which has malfunctioned for the last 6-8 weeks will come on. I reckon that might’ve been the best game in the tournament.
  11. Quick supper. Prawns and squid rings flash fried with green beans, baby corn, carrot, broccoli, red cabbage, pak choi and spring onions (veggies bought together and cooked for longer. Some child, coriander and soy sauce
  12. I was at the match in Bordeaux. It was incredibly hot. We were down by the pitch in full sun. By 60 minutes there was literally no one within 5 seats on all 4 axes; and there had been earlier. Having said that (and yes, I’m still bitter,) this is the World Cup that Ireland bid for, and could (should) have won. The rain has been biblical here for the last 2 days and temperature wise it could have been perfect. Think France just had oddly hot weather that week.it’ll pass. Aki is having another stormer.
  13. Not a bad beginning though (the list of 7).
  14. Reading Cassiel’s Servant by Jacqueline Carey. Loving it; she does extended training montages so well
  15. I find I don’t engage with audiobooks as much as when I read. I can zone out and miss 10-20 minutes. However, I do enjoy them, so typically buy audiobooks of books I reward enjoyed. Guy Gabriel Kay and Lois McMaster Bujold being most recent examples.
  16. I give nursery teachers/minders cash. School teacher, we do a group, 5each, flowers and a voucher for the biggest shopping centre near us.
  17. I have sunscreen in white linen trousers. While we have laundry facilities on hols, I’m keeping them for home to utilise a good biological washing detergent (don’t want to set the stain)
  18. My possibly faulty understanding is if Pincher leaves voluntarily, the by election will be much sooner, meaning splitting resources. Also, getting 10% of the electorate to sign a recall petition would be a hall ache, so he might style it out. There’s some movement of boundaries there too I think
  19. How many types of sausages do you eat that you have ‘absolute favourite ones’? Like I probably only buy one brand (superquinn sausages sold through Musgraves), and I would struggle to name 3 other brands, let alone have definite opinions on them? also, obvious question, what are they?
  20. I’m bouncing between the micro peel and some 111skin sheet masks. Have a week to decide as won’t be home before that and since covid deliveries tend to just get left on the doorstep (which I generally don’t mind but not ideal when away). Just checking, is there really no cure for split ends other than regular salon cuts. I’m terrible at making appointments though I do follow through when made. I bought a sharp scissors for homesnipping but doesn’t seem to make a difference
  21. Currently reading Ithaca by Claire North. About 10% in. The language feels choppy with the word twerp used 3 times so far. Not entirely sure where it’s going, but I’ll stick around I think. Just finished Magic Forged by KM Shea. I felt that this was very slight, even for urban fantasy. Never really got into the story. The aworld building was poor. Unlikely to pick up sequels. Death under a little sky by Stig Abell was a fun murder mystery. Very rooted in the physical. A little rough but kept me reading. Listened to The Warriors Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold. That woman really can write. Looking forward to listening to the rest and hearing Miles grow. Particularly looking forward to A civil campaign. Cried (again) at Barryar which was a trifle embarrassing given I was on a tram at the time.
  22. Cucumbers doing super in the glass house. Peppers very slow to grow. Coriander (cilantro) doing really well and much used. Broccoli looks like it’ll do well, as does the fennel. Unsure about the tomatoes, think they should be fine but I’m away at the moment so can’t pinch out. Planted the dwarf cuces late so hopefully going to get some school lunches out of it in early September. Hopefully my babysitter will be diligent about watering: feels funny to be paying her to mind my plants rather than my kids. peonies were outstanding this year. Got some supportive rings and they really helped. I’m so sorry about your orchard and meadow @Alarich II. It sounded lovely and the hedge sounded awesome. I hope your revised plans work out.
  23. On hols in Portugal so giving my retinoate a break. Moving into my mid 40s, I may go up to a prescription soonish though. Will probably have to see my GP for the first time in…. A few years… for that thought. Enjoying the tatcha brand quite a bit at the moment, for the rice polish cleanser(easy to travel with), indigo night cream, tonic and blotters. Still trialling facial spf. Kiehls ultra light aqua gel has been my mainstay for the last few years. Not loving ultra violetette fluid at the moment. I don’t know if I’m putting it on too soon to my moisturiser but it pills. Next will be a coco and eve water gel . I have bought, and diligently wear 2 enormously brimmed hats. Chats, you use La Mer sometimes don’t you? Any thoughts on the hydrating emulsion or micro peel.
