UK trains (and also more localised transport like metros) are also routinely delayed, just FYI, sounds like you hit lucky when you used them! From what you describe I'd say we're probably about equivalent. I feel fortunate that I don't have to rely on public transport to get to work (I'm within walking distance, luckily)

i like to have it on the side so I can have some bites dipped into the yolk and some with a bit of crunch from the toast

Delighting in my hobbit lifestyle today, I had garlic mushrooms on crusty granary bread, toasted, with a poached egg on the side. Twas quick, delicious, and I want it again

I've heard good things about Turkey for dental work -

I've also found that things like that taste better reheated next day, which again may be bollocks but I can at least see some logic in allowing the flavours to develop

UK politics - not inspiring but effective
HexMachina replied to BigFatCoward's topic in General Chatter
Instead of a Dark Lord, we would have a queen, not dark but beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Tempestuous as the sea, and stronger than the foundations of the earth! All shall love her and despair! -

my neck of the woods (North East) it certainly seems like a road has just been resurfaced and then a matter of weeks later there's more roadworks. I can't say the visuals of the Council spending are great though, in the past 4 years one of the main city centre streets has been re-envisaged 3 or 4 times - "Lets pedestrianize! Lets add a cycle lane! Lets remove the cycle lane! Lets widen the road! Let's widen then pavement for outdoor seating! Lets take that away!" There's been works pretty much non stop for years at this point -
Mushroom risotto. Which I "accidentally" allowed to catch on the bottom of the pan so I got some of those burnt crunchy bits. Ok, deliberately, but they are the best part, fight me on it!

this is really funny because there's so much music out there all of us could post. And of everything, a live performance of a cover of an 80s song is reposted within about 10 posts in this thread But, worth it, its an excellent cover

Interesting. The main one I remember growing up was The Royle Family and, at the time, it stood out for the lack of laugh tracks etc. -

In my experience dogs are just drawn to anything that appears remotely edible...or not edible for that matter. -

yeah watch any kind of Britcom from early 2000s or earlier, you'll hear a laugh track. Hard to track when this started to phase out but I'd guess around the 2010's? -

I was feeling nostalgic and watched Return to Oz on a sick day. Horrifying to think this was one of my favourite films as a child.
