Wow i'm a huge show apologist and wow....just wow. Pretty shitty.

For all the hate the show gets (only some of it deserved) they really did show up and impress with this one. Too many purists will whine over every little change, most of them unavoidable and had to happen in order for the series to work. I loved the way they handled this episode. So great. The remaining episodes look to be just as awesome. Can't wait for them and hopefully for TWOW before next season.

Agreed whole-heartedly. I'm definitely a show lover/apologist despite an greater love for the books (obviously, they're freaking amazing) but the whole Olly thing seems a little forced. I can remember the second Olly was shown last season joining the watch and saying he was a good archer I told my friend he'd kill Ygritte, and as this season progresses they are pushing so hard to have him pull a Brutus. Its a little too much. But it has to happen, and considering the words Bowen Marsh mean absolutely nothing to the unsullied, Olly is necessary. I would imagine we get some sense of resolution when it comes to Jon by the end of the season though. Hopefully...

Interesting. I'd say only the leader, or as I think of him, the Night's King, is a stark. The white walkers who look to be made of ice are more ice golems, using crasters children as vessels or sacrafices to create them. And the other Others may have been the Nights Kings followers, or if he is also the last Hero than the Last Hero's 12 companions. Overall, holy shit great episode. Our first extended look at the threat beyond the wall and it did not disappoint. Those of you complaining, I'm sure you complain about most things in life. That was awesome. ETA: Talk between Olly and Sam was riddled with irony/foreshadowing. Off the top of my head "Somtimes you have to make a tough decision others wont understand but you know you must do" not to mention "I've been worried about Jon for years, he always comes back"

That was awesome. Everything I thought it'd be and more. Was hoping that unnamed woman wildling would survive and be a Val-like character. But I'm whatver I'm just glad Tormund and WunWun made it.
